Until you can build a whole deck out of them, they are a waste. I am torn between promoting full decks and wanting WotC to stop printing them, immediately. On one hand, they are affordable and could make for a fun diversion, assuming you can build a full deck. On the other hand, as soon as they had a function, they would shoot up in price and become even more annoying.
I say: stop now. Spend the money on something more useful or simply lower the cost of whatever product they are in.
Your logic has merit, but I don't, personally, put much stock in precedent when speculating about future printings. There is no commitment by R&D to put a 'walker of each color in a given block, and we already have an overall imbalance in terms of 'walker characters and colors.
At the time it was printed, though, Su-Chi's ability was a potential drawback. Unless you had an ability to play, or cards to cast right away, that was four life lost when it died.
Not so much anymore, though.
Of course, but not so at the time that Stone Golem was added to M11.

From the Vault: Exiled Sketches
With the imminent preview release of Magic's From the Vault: Exiled, I figured it's time to take the wraps off this piece, which though it appeared on the Wizards website months ago, I refrained from talking about here. For starters, I couldn't post it here with its card name, and even today I still can't reveal that. But, the product will be previewed in a week at GenCon, so it's just about time. People seem to think they have this card figured out. We'll see.
At first I thought that was reasonable, but using MOTL prices, that is ~ 134 dollars worth of cards for 35 bucks, essentially giving you a bonus 100 bucks worth of cards in there.
Cards that are expensive and are less likely to show up:
Why is it that you believe this? The Reserved List was founded with a basis in card value, but it has since evolved away from that basis. There are plenty of near value-less cards on the list and several high-value cards not on the list. (By today's standards.)
I see the current state of the Reserved List as a clear demonstration that WotC does not rely on after market value as a driver. Further, I believe that they will strive to include non-Reserved, high-value cards in this set, in order to promote interest. Berserk, Mana Crypt, Imperial Seal, etc. I would not be surprised to see all of these cards in the set.
Because it would put out their customers, who will not look kindly upon such an action.
It is extremely poor business practice.
Done properly, a local store's customers would never find out about this practice. You are correct in describing it as bad business, but only insofar as the customers in question know about it.
Has anyone mocked up an M10 version of Force of Will in this or another thread? I'm interested to see the community's opinion on the template for the card in the M10 style.

Hungry?

I won't be surprised either way.

Actually, at the moment it was printed, Durkwood Boars was already behind the curve.
Stone Golem is awful limited fodder. Compare to this other Uncommon you may have heard of:
Here's hoping for Golem Tribal!
Those fingers fit your definition of "normal?"
*shudder*
This art is beautiful. I hate that I'm going to be bored by it a few weeks after release.
Same with that second poster on his site.

She looks like a velvet Elvis.
Garruk is too terrible to even comment on.
Still, these decks are a great value and I expect to pick them. I hope I don't regret it.
