    Island

Now everyone thinks that I am trolling but basic lands are probably the most important part of magic.

I picked Island since Blue is one of the most played colors in every format, even the color P9 are all blue.

I would agree that yes some are lazy, others are unmotivated. But as a whole most do not have the tools or training/will to be more then what they are.

I have a full set of CE I got off ebay sealed for my cube and an unlimited set of p9 for my own personal enjoyment. My boss owns some Beta power I think everything but twister and mox ruby. I usually in any given year will move 3 to 4 pieces of power around our local community for people. I think I know maybe 20 people who own power.

    Well here is what happened.

My boss told him to give me my $50 back and I will give him his cards back, since I purchased that cards for $50 the store did not.

The guy went on to belly ache about not having any money and he didn't realize those cards were worth so much before he sold them so he wants more money.

So I pop in with some logic....I told him lets say I sold you a painting at a yard sale for $10 and I later found out it was a Picasso, would you owe me the fair market value of that painting or did you just happen to get a great deal on a buy. Even though I told you those cards was worth more you still agreed to sell them to me.

I told him I am fair if he gives me the $50 back he can have his cards no problem. He said all he wants is what the cards are worth not the cards back. I told him he is ☺☺☺☺ out of luck on that. He can have the cards for $50 but I am not giving him more money because I don't want them that bad. He agreed I was right and left. My boss then told me to let him see the cards, he took out an underground sea and said that was the stores cut since I purchased them in his store and gave me the rest back.

I had a customer come into the computer shop where I work and he noticed I had on a Magic T-shirt asked me if I play I said sure. he said he hadn't played in 10 + years.

He was looking for a hard drive because his had crashed. I told him to bring in the old one and maybe I can recover some data off it for him and he told me there was nothing important on it. He then asked my prices on drives and I told him and he wanted a 2 tb but only had $100 (we sell them for $150).

He then asked if I would trade him the $50 difference for his old magic card collection. I said I would have to see it. So he leaves comes back like 3 hours later. He hands me a shoe box ( it said nike on it) full of cards. I look through it and see dual lands and cards from beta, arabian nights and stuff (most valuable was 2 Unlimited seas) I tell him this is worth more then the $50. He says that is ok. So I give him the drive and put my $50 in the till with his $100.

2 days later he comes back in and complains to my boss that I ripped him off. Now my boss plays magic. I have the box still there under the counter because I play in the store in my free time so I leave my cards there. Says I told him the cards was only worth $50 but he found out the cards was worth over $5000 (in reality maybe $500) from somewhere else.

Ok to cut to the chase my boss told him he would check the security cameras to see what happened. Now the guy changes his story to that I had agreed to hold them until he could bring me the $50. So now my boss has to chose between my story and his since we dont record audio. So the guy tells my boss he dont have the $50 but if we just give him $1000 in computer parts he will consider us even and will not press charges for me ripping him off. So now I am in trouble. What should I do?

I personally strong would disagree with them. Mainly cause that site doesn't buy nor sell cards and does pricing based on there play value so you'll see some chase rares for dirt cheap and crap rares going for alot. I would recommend something that sells cards such as MagicOnABudget.Com, FindMagicCards.Com, BlackBorder.Com
. I use them when deciding card value for trades or selling on here.

actually that sites uses Ebay averages. These are the prices people are paying for these cards. Fair market value. Now B&M stores and On-line shops can get away with charging more because they have a reputation for reputable sales. If I was you I would take the Cape Fear up on their offer just because all the junk cards you have left after selling the good stuff is impossible to move and you are not losing as much in time and fees and shipping cost to piece it out.

Ok I agreed to a sale the person is/was going to buy some cards off me.we exchanged email addresses for paypal but he never sent me his home address to ship to. He was suppose to pay by 5 pm yesterday (I assume his time (GMT -5) at 8 pm my time (GMT -6) he had not paid. I asked him if he was still interested and he wanted some more info (scans and such) I told him he has to wait until next tuesday (Feb 8th) for me to be able to get scans since I have to buy a scanner. I got another offer for the same cards from a local buyer. Since he violated the original terms of the deal by not paying by the time he had stated he would, would I get on the BTA for selling the cards locally instead.

Ok here is the break down

selling on ebay your looking at $100-$120 depending on your feedback and the day of the week etc. After fees and shipping etc you may get $100.

Selling to a shop you would be lucky to see $75-80 on it and that is before you ship it to them and paypal takes its cut for the payment from the store.

Selling to players online they will want to give you apathyhouse.com or MOTL prices whice are average Ebay prices so it is the prices people are really paying for these cards and not what a store is trying to sell them at. A store has a reputation and much more that they can get away with higher prices.

A player online would be your best bet you would be looking at $100 for a quick sell. $120 may take you a little while. anything higher then that good luck.

Problem is selling this as a whole deck you are going to get dinged for the uncommons and commons that almost everyone that plays legacy has playsets of and not much else in the deck is hard to get or very valuable. Thats why my playgroup uses this deck as an intro for starting players.

Ok I just got into magic online with an account a friend gave me that had some cards. SO I purchased the Momir Vig Event deck and the 3 planeswalker packs and was wondering is it worth it to get the 2 legacy decks and the commander decks. I also plan on picking up each of the dual decks after christmas.

Sorry to derail the thread but i have a quick question.

For example someone's trying to sell me a expensive foil, and I have a hunch he just whiped a foil clean and used a high quality printer. How could I tell if it's real or fake?

take a bit of water on a q tip and rub the center and see if it bleeds just a little bit you dont want to ruin the card if its real.

anyone catch the reference to New Phyrexia and Mirridian Pure in the ads. Just saying.

I have a firm belief the 3rd blocks name is going to be chosen by some kind of event that happens during the second block.
