Its possible that the “White creature that can make an opponent lose the game simply by attacking them no matter how much life they have”, could also be the same card as the “If it’s the third time” as in: If it's the third time that CARDNAME has attacked this turn/opponent, then attacked opponent loses the game.
Tack it onto a 1/1 then it would make it hard to do so.
I also thought of the 'this turn' part as I was typing this, but this seems a more red thing than white, and the 3 separate turns would be more white, though maybe not enough hoops to jump through.
EDIT: Another thought is that it could be: If it's the third time that CARDNAME is blocked, defending player loses the game.
It is also possible that as someone else has mentioned, this may not be a mono white creature and could be or .

Well let's see what absurd condition you need on top of that. The creature most likely needs to connect but that wouldn't be enough. More life than the opponent and X life more than your starting life total? More creature/permanents than the opponent? 4-5 different types of permanents on your board? Needs to be equipped with at least 3 different equipment cards? I am skeptical.
Note that Maro never said "with a single attack". It's quite possibly a condition that either has to be or usually is triggered over multiple attacks, like the opponent gaining counters and if they have too many, they lose the game.
Something like this comes to mind:
Whenever ~ attacks, defending player gets a number of stasis counters equal to the number of attacking creatures you control. Then if that player has 20 or more stasis counters, they lose the game.
This version actually fulfills both, it can happen in one attack or over multiple turns.
Feels a bit like poison, but you get the idea. -

MoonliteKnight posted a message on [2XM] Isochron Scepter and Ash Barrens— Good Luck High Five previewsAs someone who's been playing since first years of Magic, and owns a playset of dual-lands as well as a few power cards, I'd be perfectly happy if WoTC dissolved the reserve list entirely and printed everything over and over. Look at MTGO where you can get a black lotus for $10. Magic is a game and everyone being able to play it makes the game better, not worse. Having card prices be a prohibitive factor to playing the game for the sake of collectors is a unhealthy for the game.Posted in: The Rumor Mill -

Mystic_X posted a message on B & R Announcement 8/3 Major ShakeupsI'm quite shocked and disappointed to say the least because I ordered the artifact Secret Lair x4 which hasn't even been shipped out yet, and now I can't even use the cards!Posted in: The Rumor Mill
WTF Wizards?
What kind of scandalous bait and switch is that?
Do you like intentionally upsetting your own paying consumers?
Step 1: Design pushed competitive game pieces
Step 2: Design obvious combo piece to synergize with and improve competitive recently printed game piece
Step 3: Sell premium alternate art copies of said cards directly to the consumer at a mark-up for people who may have missed them the first time around
Step 4: Ban them so players who haven't even received their reprint shipments yet can't even use them in the formats they were intended for.
Really?
Can anyone explain the logic behind this process?
Can combo decks only exist in vintage without players getting upset when they lose to them?
I specifically ordered that lair because I didn't have walking ballistas or arcbound ravagers (I couldn't care less about darksteel colossus which I was planning to sell immediately), but now I feel like a sucker who paid a premium for nothing, and I don't even have my order yet! Unbelievable! Is the combo even viable in modern? Seems way too slow, and I certainly don't need ballistas for commander. I had bett4r open some sweet stained glass window walkers in those lairs to make up the loss or I'll never take the bait for one of these overpriced special edition products again! -

1110mystic posted a message on Neoform - Autumn Burchett spoilerIn legacy you can do this:Posted in: The Rumor Mill
Turn 1 - Land (+ ManaDork)
Turn 2 - Land - Neoform (if mana dork you can use Eldritch Evolution instead) + Vinedryad / Skyshroud Cutter --> Goblin Dark-Dwellers --> Neoform --> Sire of Insanity (if Evolution just skip right to Sire) + (you have room, I think to run Daze/FOW)
So a pretty consistent, turn 2 way to get a 7/5 and hellbent everyone.

Every time I saw this title, and after the first time I clicked on it and realized the OP meant to type Boros, I felt like I was getting stabbed in the eyeball.
Booo....
It was far more interesting with the old title. -

Seriously though, the problems are simple: Barely any non-combat-zone commanders, the worst combo for drawpower and rather poor at ramping...and those are strategies Commander wants. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

i scoff at sexualization for no reason (see some cards, or most anime)
but going completely nun style fashion is another thing ,
i don't mind having ugly characters, fat, sexy,****ty,bulky, whatever
i would make some mermaid characters topless or Circe super seductive
why must the scales be always tipped?
it's always funny to think how sex is demonized while brutal killing, zombies and stuff are perfectly okay

sounds like pauper is a nice alternative to commander,"keep magic fun",hope it stays that way. how much can a common's price raise? (oh , 8$,10$? ) alright..
at least you wont see the ridiculous uncommon prices i guess

does anyone actually like the "Board games" they released? Archenemy bolas and ixilan? it's more like variants of the card game, they look pretty bad to me(as board games AND card value)
i'd love a well designed magic board game. why did they have to discontinue arena, it could be so much. i wont complete my set ever now

i myself have played with a bad deck, vs noob players on many occassions-i think of myself as an experienced mtg player- and i didnt have a chance.i was steamrolled, because of bad mana base, no answers,or just better quality of the cards my opponent had(my deck most of the time :P) . id love to believe that the master with the bad deck can win a ok player with a good deck, but i dont think it works that way.
the best play/on curve most of the time is obvious if you look on the board, and then at your hand (i dont count "keep some threats to not be wiped,or bait counterspells as smart play, that's just how everybody should play vs some matchups,it's like saying hold a counter/removal for the combo deck,it's not smart,it's what you must do to not lose..)
mtg is a great game, but if you venture into other games, you can clearly see it's weaknesses. Deck contruction is a key, piloting your deck -or better, let it pilot you the most efficient way, it's how you win "it runs like a well oiled engine"
on thread, i think bringing low powered but well oiled decks works great, with clever interactions that make new players/bad players surprised so they dig into interactions and building efficient decks, with a little help..
bringing high powered decks will turn the players off you, and maybe off the game.
lending decks can work, but still it feels like playing vs dummy opponents, since they dont know the decks/havent built it themselves and dont know the interactions/how to play, so you have to teach each deck to each guy.. i used to do that a lot.. wears you out
edit : about budget, some years ago ,you could build great decks with low budget, but now that commander is well known and supported, most of the cards have spiked(cards that didnt worth anything few yars ago).. so if you "budget" you play a much worse version most of the time..

train them? like everyone has the same acess to the cardpool, or is willing to spend as much money to a hobby
magic is less about skill, and more about your deckbuilding and choice of cards
ill train you, buy 400$ of cards to improve your deck, that is.
