    Aww, Thank you, Aquajolt Hug

I'm just having some trouble working out what to put in a mono red sideboard against Monoblack in standard.

Gotta share the love with my internet family. =) Hug

    Cheers! Keeping them coming...

Two more alters! Kaervek the Merciless and Roon of the Hidden Realm
I will marry that Kaervek. ZOMG that's awesome sauce.

Forking Eternal Dominion sounds spicy. I'd love to see an Epic spell in conjunction with Hive Mind too. Unfortunately, I can't have a nonlegendary enchantment as my commander, else I would totally have built Hive Mind long ago. Or Eye of the Storm.

That's the plan. Need to touch up the 'not dying before turn 5' part and we'll see if I can pull off anymore shenanagins. I'm perfectly fine with copying a large Exhanguinate 3-4 times before the original resolves as well. =)

I found you guys again Smile

Yomako! You and your adorable avie and sig! It melts my cold-blooded, murderous assassin of a heart. =) Hug

I dismantled my Marath after watching someone play the EXACT SAME decklist. =p Needless to say, playing Marath and making a bunch of dumb babies and beating face game after game gets tiring. Especially if you just have to watch someone else play 'your deck'. So I broke that apart and remade Riku. Cuz he's my bff. Goal was to play 'copy spell' cards and then copy Eternal Dominion 3-5+ times when I cast it. And then beat people with their own decks. Problem with my first draft is that it has no way to protect itself (beyond Propaganda) and has no card draw. =p Seemed my Timmy/Johnny was too focused on the task at hand that I forgot to add 1-4 counterspells, card draw, mass/targetted bounce, and more ways to not die. However! I had an instant where I played Tamiyo, the Moon Sage after getting swung at by 8 creatures and -2'd her to draw 8 cards. Then next turn I got swung at for exactly lethal and I flash'd in Snapcaster to leave me at 1. Kekeke The one winning, Prossh, passed it to Zedruu. On Z's turn, he played Form of the Dragon and then donated it to Prossh. *SQUEEEE!* So as Zedruu passes to me, Prossh's life is now 5 life and it's my job to kill Prossh. I thought "O! Easy enough." But then I remembered that this new list didn't have alot of the old list contents. I.E Comet Storm, Demonfire, Devil's Play, Banefire...and I thought "Poop! I need to draw more!" So I Tamiyo'd again and drew 18 cards. And got Electrolyze. "Close enough!" I cast E. Witness to get back Reverberate and cast Electrolyze and copied it twice, with Reverberate and Wild Ricochet. =)

Prossh dies and I pass to Zedruu. Zedruu is in play and I have an E. Witness and I'm at 1. Zedruu plays Madcap Skills and kills me. NOOOOES! X_x
;tl dr; I had a fun first match, but gonna need some tweeking to get it to function better.

I simply don't believe you that you always have an answer to everything all the time, or that everyone agrees what must stay or go when three players have an opportunity to eliminate a threat to another player.

To the former, ya it doesn't happen all the time. Counter/stop/kill what you find the biggest threat and hold off on what you know you can deal with (or hope know your friends can deal with). If no one does, then dem da brakes. Shuffle up and play again. To the latter, I guess I'm blessed with a smart playgroup. Shrugs If Seedborn Muse/Prophet/Patron+Yeva comes out, it either dies immediately or it takes a full turn of shenanigins till the rest of the table realizes. Then from that point on everyone knows how dangerous it can be.

Thanks for comments Aquajolt! Definitely need a Bribery and I could really use a Memnarch too, that's a great card! My deck can win by swinging with big creatures and board control as well, Mill is just one of the win cons. Duskmantle Guildmage can also turn Mill into massive damage in the case of Eldrazzi users. We only have one person who uses Eldrazzi in our meta, but your point is well taken for sure!

I like your deck. It's a lot of super fun cards and looks really enjoyable to play. It's so boss you don't even run a Sol Ring. Smile

Gotcha. My Wrexial deck has a Phenax in it, but I have yet to see/play it (it probably gets self milled a lot). The goal of my mill deck is to mill. If I draw Consuming Abberation and need to kill with it, then so be it. But it wins through mill or dies trying. =)

Should check those eyeballs of yours Xander. Sol Ring is there, under the Ramp section. =p
In other news, I read up on how the **** phasing works and I am gonna work in Vanishing and Vodalian Illusionist into Braids somehow. Also pondering the following:

    Clone
    Consecreated Sphinx
    Diluvian Primordial
    Inkwell Leviathan
    Lorthos
    Quicksilver Gargantuan
    Shipbreaker Kraken
    Sphinx of Uthuun
    Thada

    Bribery
    Karn, Liberated
    Time Stretch
    Treachery

    Maze of Ith
    Temple of the False God

Like, comment, subscribe. I'm just posting/talking out loud. =p

Awesome list! I too run a Braids deck; mines more focused on bounce and racing opponents then stealing though it has some of those effects. I imagine my list would fall into the "Jack of All Trades" category. =) I have always seen Vanishing (phasing) spoken about in Braids and Bruna decks and I didn't wrap my head around the idea till I just searched up the phasing FAQ on the mothership. Now I understand why phasing is boss! =D Perfect for Braids or for anything else you wanna protect. Love how you can use the Illusionist to phase out opponent's stuff as well. I need to find room for proxies in my decklist while I hunt for physical copies. =)

While I can suggest creatures and other things, your list looks quite tight and dear to you. I CAN though suggest non-basics for you to consider.

Academy Ruins - Able to rebuild after wraths (grabbing mana rocks back) and can recover your ramp. Was invaluable in my last game.
High Market - Steal a threat you don't want on the field and sac it. Protects stuff of yours if it's about to be stolen or exiled and can also sac Braids if you wanna stop giving your opps free gifts.
Homeward Path - Probably not an include in your build, but i like it in mine. I hate when people take my stuff! =D
Reliquary Tower - if you are drawing cards this could come in handy.
Riptide Laboratory - bounce Braids back to your hand. Also has nice synergy with Venser, Shaper Savant.
Scrying Sheets - If ya run snow lands, can help ya get some slow card advantage. Pairs well with Thassa. =)
Strip Mine - Takes out Urborg/Coffers/Maze/Gaea's Cradle/the land that has Spawning Grounds, etc.
    Tectonic Edge - See above.
Tolaria West - Find whatever non-basics ya need.

For you, I'd recommend Ruins, Market, Tower, Mine, and Tec Edge at least. Tolaria West and Expedition Map as well if you wanna tutor for any of those.

No offense but your meta is not competitive if you cannot deal with a resolved Prophet of Kruphix

2nd this. Almost the same response when you treat a Seedborn Muse. The opponent is just gonna abuse the ***** outta it. Kill/remove it or the player asap. Path or Swords it in white. Counter/bounce it in blue. The other colors have similar responses (along with what's already been posted. A typical match in may playgroup usually sees one person packing Tormud's Crypt, Relic of Progenitus, or Nihil Spellbomb.

@Xander, that list looks beast. =) Beefy creatures + elixir/untapping makes for easy milling with Phenax. I'd only advise to be mindful of graveyard decks (Mimeo/Karador). Pack Bribery or Sadistic Sarcament to pull out Eldrazi so it doesn't stop your milling plans (if you wanna primarily win with mill).

As promised to ajacobik, here's my Braids list.

I'm 1 short atm. I put in an altered Jace Beleren, then drew the original printing the other night. >_> Opps. So I'll see what I wanna add. Just did a count and only 16 cards can NOT be put into play with Braids. Seems good. =) I originally had Extraplanar Lens to give me the only bonus for my snow-covered lands, but I hate replaying it and/or losing the land when it got destoryed. Time Stretch was in, but it's a "dick" card, but it might see a return.

The main issue with the deck from the start was dumping my hand and not having a follow up if it met resistance. Temple Bell was a boon in my last game. Also added Thassa for sweet top decks, Sphinx to get all the card draw (and be a fatty late game), and Rush of Knowledge to draw me a new hand as well. Addtionally, I've had games where I don't play Braids. I either have 1-2 things in my hand or none at all and it would benefit me to play her. However, it's a political gesture to play her to give a free gift to the other players allowing them to kill each other while I set up.

Putting this up gives me the chance to look over the list in full and see what performed well and what underperforms. Tidespout is a BAMF. (last game I misplayed. With Tidespout & Kira in play, I cast Vesner to use his own trigger to bounce himself. However, I'd have to break the Kira 'shield' to let the trigger resolve. I could have done it correctly [I had a Thassa in play as well]. Just something I overlooked). I haven't played Tidal Force enough to warrant a promotion to 'he stays' so i'll keep him in. Might swap out snow lands + Scrying sheets for regular lands. Should relook my non-basic package. Include Maze of Ith and probably Crucible.

Gonna look into more appropriate fatties to include, non-basics I could utilize and maybe some metalcraft I could use. I have plenty of it. O! Also some artifact lifegain. I find Nekusaar and others are putting me dangerously low and I'd like to stick around to the late game. Especially if I stumble out the gates or I turn the game into Archenemy (with me as the target). Kekeke

Critiques welcome! Suggest whatever you want! Love to hear what cards I may have overlooked!

...did your group just try to bully someone cause they tried to play magic? The blue player did nothing wrong, it was a control deck and somehow no body on the table can break it.

I'd say playing control that doesn't win in under 2 hours is "doing something wrong". The people beating their faces against a brick wall for three hours are also to blame.
Agree with this. If it got that boring after 2 hours, I'd scoop to start another game. I wouldn't durdle my cards and bounce stuff if I didn't have the chance.

Played 2 games of EDH before seeing Robocop on Saturday. Got 2-Punch Steve'd using my Wrexial deck. And then I played Braids to have some fun. Academy Ruins pulled its ******* weight. My friend played Omen Machine and that made things silly. I attempted to put Memnarch back on top of my library with Ruins but my friend exiled it. What I got instead was Tidespout Tyrant. Which meant my Vensur, Shaper Savant became a Capsize for 2 less mana! =D I then realized I have Teferi, Mage of Zhalfir on the field with the Omen Machine which prevented my opponents from doing anything. Which then prompted a "Ya. Teferi's a dick. Brian's deck has a ton of dick cards in it." I responsed back with "Well maybe shouldn't have played Omen Machine with Teferi on the field you dumbass! You locked yourself out!"

Typical EDH night went well. Braids didn't get out of hand, power shifted back and forth and I was able to not die to token swarm (stole a Windborn Muse with Blatent Thievery). And then grinded out a win. =)

Wait... someone called Teferi a dick card after you got Sphinxed? What a load of nonsense.

I got sphinx'd in my first game. I played Wrexial vs Nekusaar (friend), Sen Triplets (Esper good stuff), & Mimeoplasm.
2nd game was me playing Braids vs Ruhan (friend), Silver Queen (good stuff.deck), & Nylea (ramprampramprampramp, Genesis Wave =p)

My friend and I skirt the 'spirit of EDH' where we don't play dick cards unless we are ending the game. I don't play mass land destruction because 1) I don't own armageddon and 2) It would devolve into the same strategy: play your indestructible dude (or more threathening dudes that your opps) and then nuke the board. I try to avoid playing with a bunch of hard tutors (as oppose to Expedition Map and Trinket/Treasure Mage) to avoid making the deck's strategy too linear.

Pretty much I was doing a pretty good job in my 2nd game with Briads (I'll post a decklist up after work). I Austere Command was taking out my artifacts and fatties leaving only Nylea's 28 4/5 plant tokens. >_> So I popped my Nev's Disk and that pretty much reset the game. However, I was able to build back with Thassa and Academy Ruins. It was then I played Teferi so I could flash in Kozelik and swing with him (Nylea had played 15/15 RTR wurm now enchanted with Pattern of Rebirth and Ruhan was played and then enchanted with Righteous Authority and had a Darksteel Plate. Also 10/10 monstrousity Colossus was played by Ruhan too). This is when Ruhan played Omen Machine. I got a free cast of Tidespout Tyrant which made my cards ridic, but with Teferi ALREADY on the field he locked him and Nylea out of the game.

He was just a bit bitter. He wasn't playing much and only had about 8-9 lands by the end of the game.

On the topic of Star Wars, Star Trek, & Fantasy/Sci Fi, I enjoyed the prequal trilogy but felt that the Anakin/Padma (padmah? whatever) plots were terrible. I enjoyed the end goal to tie things together with the orginal triology, but the acting was just bad (cept for McGregor). Didn't sink into the Star Trek at all. Thought the reboot movies were great. Watched Wrath of Khan and it was good too. No motivation really to watch the series though. And I hadn't really thought about Fantasy and Sci Fi. I like Starcraft and its lore. I love Mass Effect. And I love LotR. I like the hybrid of both (Mass Effect 'space magic!'). :addingtotheconversation: Kekeke

As one of the 99, it's not very good though.

As a general with a deck built around it. It can be nuts. I have had 30+ mana on turn 4-5 pretty regularly. As a 99, probably not good.

^^ Got a friend who runs it as his Commander. He's got Sachi, Daughter of Seshiro and 1-2 other snakes, but also plays Orochi Hatchery. Patron plays a bit like Derevi. He loves to untap stuff. Had a field day one game where he was pooping out elephants with Kazandu Tuskcaller and then blowing up ***** using Nullmage Shepherd. It was pretty wicked.

You were not at fault. If they wanted to duke it out between the two of them, they should have killed you WAY before hand.

I find that if someone is holding back in EDH, they are either mana-screwed or playing combo. =p They will be ignored because other players will let them 'catch back up' to the rest of the board, but I've found that its these players that usually win in the end (or pose the greatest threat once the initial wave of creatures, wraths, & counters have been played).
