I seriously don't understand how this time traveling is supposed to make any sense. I can accept that Sarkhan gets back to the present. What I can't accept is that the timeframe gets just perfectly altered so that we will have different versions of past characters.

I can't think of any story involving time travel where it doesn't work like that.
That's because those stories don't generally go back in time a THOUSAND years. Way too many variables in such a large amount of time. There's no way those exact same people would be there with such an extensive lenght to a butterfly effect; chances are none of them would.

And yes, I understand they're playing to expectations; people naturally want to see how characters changed in response to the altered events of the past. For me, however, the required suspension of disbelief is so massive ends up ruining any natural expectations I might have had about that. It's basically a saturday morning cartoon plot, but presented with a straight face.

EDIT: And the way Sarkhan not only expected those same people to be there, a thousand years later, but also expected them to recognize him, going so far as to enthusiastically hold a goblin that was in fact attacking him... it's too much, man. Can't take that stuff seriously. That's a comedy scene right there.

Sarkhan: "Screw this world I've always wanted! One person that I barely know may or may not be dead in it! SCREW IT, I say!"

I mean what lol. Tarkir is such a dumb place. Let's just hurry up and get to Magic Origins stuff, because Tarkir's story is nonsensical.
You know, I haven't enjoyed Magic storyline in a big way for quite a while now, but this is the single time I thought one of their plots was unequivocally, eye-rollingly, FUNDAMENTALLY bad. This last Uncharted Realms requires such an astonishing level of disbelief suspension that I just can't do it.

I'm not a fan of straight-faced time travel in general, mainly because in the end I haven't ever seen anyone make it truly believable. But this goes beyond even my worst expectations for this block.

Blah. I hate to be a naysayer, but man, this was BAD.

Also, does anyone else find it pretty ironic that both the Heartpiercer Bow and the Vial of Dragonfire are invented by Jeskai and used by Mardu/Kolaghan?

Speaking of irony, there's one thing that I find somewhat staggering. If you look at the homelands of each of the clans, most of them actually live in the regions associated with the colour they have lost.
The Jeskai live in mountains, the Sultai in the jungle and the Mardu on the open plains.

Only the Temur and Abzan are living in a habitat that makes sense for the reduced colour-pairs, though a desert seems a bit more black to me than green, but at least the white fits.
The deserts of the Abzan seem more white, but they could be construed as black too, I think. As for the Temur, I think their tundras are certainly blue (or at least blue-white). It's an interesting tidbit anyway, and I'm pretty sure it's intentional.

I just want Ugin as a card. Sadly, the fact that he isn't in the featured picture doesn't make me optimistic.

I'd much rather get someone like Leshrac or Tevesh Szat as the black planeswalker. I have no nostalgia for Ob Nixilis (hell, he got a new creature card in the more recent core set).

So, how much time before we FINALLY get a spiritual successor to Shandalar?

With WotC trying to branch out the brand, a free-roaming RPG just has to be in the cards (if you'll pardon my unintended pun).

The banners have the worst batch of flavor text I've seen in a long time. "Cruelty to rule"? Seriously? Who aside from the most bland, stereotypical, evil-laughter villain would ever believe in something like that?

It varies from time to time. Goatbots are often on the low side. So is Clan Team. I would say our bots are usually competitive, though likely not the lowest very often.
I'm already a big client of yours when it comes to singles. For some reason I wasn't aware you also sell packs. I'll keep an eye out.

So, my favorite bot chain for buying booster packs (Hogwarts/Coruscant/7BP/_____) is nowhere to be seen on v4. Bummer. Anyone knows whether they're gone for good?

Anyway, I'm looking for suggestions that might replace those bots on my friend list. Thanks in advance. Smile

The vast majority of Brazilians would call me a traitor, but I'll be firmly rooting for Argentina. All of the World Cups held in the American continent have been won by American teams, and I'm not looking forward to having that slip away. Plus, I don't want to see Messi retire without a World Cup on his resumé. He is certainly one of the most incredible players I've seen in my entire life. I do think he deserves to be regarded in the future as highly as Maradona is today, and I feel a WC win would 100% cement that.

And yeah, there's the third-place match too. I hope we don't embarass ourselves yet again, even if we lose. It shouldn't be hard, either: just enter the pitch wanting to play a damn match instead of running around like a bunch of overexcited chickens.

Yeah, utterly lost for words. I guess that's what happens when you enter a World Cup semifinal match with absolutely no tactic scheme whatsoever.

I'm obviously quite sad, but I guess this only serves to further prove that it will be hard for another World Cup to surpass this one in terms of purely incredible moments.

A bore of a game to start between Germany/France, Germany, as expected went through(The French have quality, but it seemingly fits awkwardly together). Colombia loses because they only got to play with 11 men, there wasn't anything blatant, but when all the 50/50 calls go one way, the shoe seemingly fits snugly.
Did you see that the referee didn't even call the blatant foul in which Neymar got injuried? What about when previously the very same Zuñiga kicked Hulk in the knee, with no yellow card to be spoken of? As usual, refereeing was horrible, but Brazil DEFINITELY did not get helped here.

Thiago Silva is out, but apparently so is Schweinsteiger, so that's that. I do really hope Neymar's injury isn't too bad, although images of him getting to the hospital just now aren't encouraging.

(EDIT: My bad, it seems Schweinsteiger isn't suspended. I'm pretty sure the announcer said something like that earlier today. Oh well, that's just gonna make it more exciting, I guess.)

On another note, I'm really bummed that Brazil had to face two South Americans in a row. I'm pretty sure both Chile and Colombia had good chances of reaching further into the tournament.

It's back today! We should get two awesome games, and I'm honestly worried about Brazil's chances. Colombia has been the best team this World Cup so far, in my opinion. I hope the home turf advantage is enough to make us advance.

But first we'll get France-Germany! Cheering for France, mainly because their supporters were freaking awesome against Switzerland, but what I really want is an intense match, preferrably with a penalty shootout at the end. Smile

Jesus Christ, what an ending. And this, folks, is why there is absolutely nothing like the World Cup. Phew!

I think Belgium-USA could go either way. Belgium has the better roster in theory, but their matches so far have been mild affairs. The USA team, on the other hand, has been oozing a kind of drive that is beautiful to see. Should be a great match.

PS: I think Germany-Algeria might be the best 0-0 draw I've seen in ages. DAT goalkeeper!
