I'm currently coming up with my own version of Lands, and I'm running 54 land right now. The new borborymos from gatecrash looks like it has to go in, for more seismic assault fun :3
With False prophet you will lose the creature that was podded into play, plus I'm playing Karador, I don't want to be exiling my creatures. Mindslicer and entomber exarch seem along the lines of what I'm looking for with the hand disruption.
Academy Rector is also a creature I'm definitely trying to get, seeing how powerful my enchantments are. My targets are:
I would like a creature to mess with blue combo decks as they're able to combo faster than I can with reveillark or before i beat them down with recurred fatties.
In this I'm trying to control my opponents hand and field with the added consistency from shaman to fetch up the creature I need, get rid of extra birds, and try a replacement for GSZ. Any comments on how I can improve the deck is appreciated.
I think what most of you are missing is the fact that wizards has a reserved list. Many of the cards on that list come from either cards they don't want printed because of their power or they were characters important to Magic's storyline ie. Legendary creatures. So most of the good legends that we would like to be foiled out and reprinted like rofellos couldn't make it. This is a release where such a restriction is very relevant.
lord of tresserhorn plays a kami of the crescent moon on turn two, followed by an urborg. no one really does anything, and I get Life from the loam in my grave. turn 4, I dredge into corpse connoisseur and have animate dead in hand. I set myself up to reanimate a primeval titan. then, the yukora player plays extraplanar lens with a swamp. and there's an urborg on the field. I reanimate my titan, get my coffers and a maze of ith. then yukora uses his awesome mana to drop drana, skithryx, the blight dragon and the greaves, which go on skittles dropping lord of tresserhorn to 5 poison counters. meanwhile, wort is doing nothing but playing meaningless gobos and ramping. I untap and draw praetor's cousel. with the coffers, I have 16 mana. this is my hand:
I cast damnation, killing everything. then I counsel the yukora player, getting his coffers, play and activate. 24 mana. cycle barren moor, draw decree of pain. play the mimeoplasm, copying skittles+primeval titan. kill yukora.
I manage to kill lord of tresserhorn by mimeoplasming his thraximundar and a 6/6 in two attacks, but i've been dropped to 10 life. I use decree of pain to wipe wort's board, draw 4 lands and a demonic tutor. I lost my coffers to targeted LD at some point, so im tapped out. next turn i'm tutoring for buried alive and my lord of extinction+triskelion combo to kill wort. I confidently pass the turn with him having 11 mana and 1 card in life. his turn goes a bit like this.
I hate infinite combos, blue magic, and people that quit mid game and ignore threat assessment and basically kingmaking someone before scooping
Everytime I hear this sort of statement, it sounds like the generic casual player's preaching anthem. I agree with most of this statement, but for the life of me I could never understand the burning hatred for blue.
We play purelythematic decks (more below)
No direct damage, i.e you don't Fireball someone.
No mass land destruction. (Right now we are testing and made basic land indestructable, so you can play f.e. Armageddon.)
No infinite loops/combo.
No shroud nor protection.
No mass hand destruction.
Most of the last abilities of Planeswalkers we don't play.
We don't have an exact number set, but in general we don't play many counterspells , say around 3 maybe 4/5 in a deck, so no 18 cs ...
I would be bored out of my mind if that's what happened in my play group. That takes out all the interaction with your opponents.
Ah icebear, I see where you want to go with this deck now. I currently play Teneb, the Harvester and the deck plays very similar to the way you want to play karador. the deck plays cards that I can get multiple uses out of almost every creature by turning them into engines. I'll give you a run down on what I think are useful.
Birthing pod: I've replaced mimic vat with this card and haven't looked back. Filling my grave while searching out more creatures to abuse is insane. I've done things like saffi >> bone shredder >> dimir house guard >> Reviellark >> sun titan getting shredder, guard, and saffi back >> karmic guide and I go infinite there. That's just my ideal scenario but you get the idea that you can constantly abuse CIP creatures.
As expensive as it is, I can't tell you how many times I've transmuted for diabolic tutor. having a second demonic tutor is too strong to pass up.
Debtor's Knell: Although you may be hesitant of using it, this is the most powerful reanimation card in all of magic. It will single handedly win you games and stealing other people's creatures is awesome. Other reanimation in your deck, as you have karador, should target your opponents which your general can't do.
Later I'll try to post my list so you can see what the whole deck looks like.
Simic Charm
Zombie Master
Rootbound Crag
Hinterland Harbor
Other cards you might consider:
:symb:: Phyrexian arena
:symg:: Sylvan Library
:symu:: Phyrexian metamorph
:symr:: Warp World
:0mana:: Sol Ring
:symw::symb::symg::symu::symr:: Maelstrom pulse, Vindicate
Gotta love me some Warp World.

Just so you know, you can't counsel other players, you only bring back your graveyard to hand.

Reassembling Skeleton
+
Sadistic Hypnotist or Skullclamp: So engines. Skeleton is so abusable and this will wipe out hands or draw your deck.
Dimir House Guard: I will absolutely never drop this card because of its versatility. He tutors, is a sac outlet, and if worse comes to worse, a decent chump blocker. My tutor targets are: graveborn muse, diabolic tutor, wrath of god, gravepact, and solemn simulacrum.
As expensive as it is, I can't tell you how many times I've transmuted for diabolic tutor. having a second demonic tutor is too strong to pass up.
