And then I wonder how many would be young Clinton voter didn't turn up coz they kept seeing crap about her being spread on their facebook and twitter feeds. I just worry that they have a much stronger media influence than is suggested by their numbers.

I guess I should rephrase and expand on that. Most of the people who voted for Trump are not internet trolls, but a lot of the tactics and methods of communication used by Trump is similar to how trolls operate.

And I acknowledge that there are a lot of older workers who are desperate and feels left behind and for them Trump is a protest vote. I don't condemn them and they are not the enemy coz if Trump don't deliver, they'll likely vote someone else next time. But trolls who just wants to burn everything down are still a significant group of Trump's coalition and they aren't likely to be swayed by economic reasons.

As for age of his troll supporters, how old do you guys think they are? 4chan has been around for more than a decade. I don't think these people are 20 somethings who's too cool to vote, but likely 30+ year olds who's been trolling and setting the internet on fire their whole adult lives. They've now found their flagbearer and discovered the joys of political activism.

So yeah, the trolls may not make up a large proportion of Trump's supporter, but they have definitely chosen Trump as their voice.

Trump is the troll president. The trolling generation that loves to create conflict and piss people off online are now old enough to vote en mass and have decided to bring their flamewars off the net.

I think at this point it's fairly clear that Trump is a salesman, a showman. He says whatever he thinks his audience wants to hear at that moment. Trying to predict his future policies from his words seems to be a futile endeavor. You're going to need to look at his long term behaviour and habits to get any sort of accurate read on the man.

    EDIT:
During their private White House meeting on Thursday, Mr. Obama walked his successor through the duties of running the country, and Mr. Trump seemed surprised by the scope, said people familiar with the meeting. Trump aides were described by those people as unaware that the entire presidential staff working in the West Wing had to be replaced at the end of Mr. Obama’s term.

After meeting with Mr. Trump, the only person to be elected president without having held a government or military position, Mr. Obama realized the Republican needs more guidance. He plans to spend more time with his successor than presidents typically do, people familiar with the matter said.
this is going to end well, I'm sure.

There is only one possible reaction for this:

    Facepalm

Seriously, every time I think Trump has hit rock bottom, he finds a new way to prove he is the most incompetent man in the world! YOU RAN FOR THE POSITION OF THE LEADER OF THE MOST POWERFUL COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!!!! What did you think the job would be? A friggin cake walk?

Well, he does want to split his time between DC and NYC....

I know you think you're being funny but you really aren't. Read Nonlinear climate sensitivity and its implications for future greenhouse warming and get back to me. Here's a short summary.

Note how the predicted average temperature increase over the next century if business continues as usual is +6 degrees C. ~6 degrees is apocalyptic.

Actually not trying to be cute; just finding it difficult to believe that 4 years of business as usual will mean death. I think you're being overly dramatic.

I'll take you at your word that 6 degrees is apocalyptic. Science is not my forte and I can't even claim that I fully understand the entire research paper you posted.

Based on my understanding of the article and the summary, Earth is currently in its warm phase and so the temperature increase from CO2 may be worse than previously expected; further research needs to take this into account.

Is that about the gist of it?

It's somewhat analogous to driving a car down a steep road with a cliff at the end. If you brake now, you might have enough road left to stop the car before it goes over. If you wait longer before braking, you very likely won't have enough road to stop because your car will have accumulated additional momentum in that period in addition to the shorter road left. The fact is that the +2C target via the Paris Accord is already the most optimistic scenario we have. There are a lot worse projections.

Luckily, if you live in US/Canada/Europe your nation is probably wealth and resourceful enough that it can somewhat mitigate the oncoming environmental damage. People in poorer places such as Bangladesh won't be so lucky and mass migration away from damaged areas will be the likely result. Global refugee crises may occur which will certainly exacerbate political reactions in the wealthier countries. I know this may sound alarmist, but the current Syrian refugee crisis would pale in comparison.

This is a strictly worse version of Mind Slaver - NOT IMPRESSED.

If I’m wasting 7 mana on what is little more than counterspell bait, it had damn better win me the game.

This card might be a bomb in limited but it will never see serious constructed play.

There are FAR too many filler cards and reprints in C16. We had better start seeing some real spoilers soon.

*Cube is a limited format, FYI

Not sure if serious or an attempt to parody comments for spoilers of normal sets.....

If I was with somebody on a date and she starts demeaning the wait staff and everybody around us, I would think she's a terrible person and not want to be around her even if she was nice to me.

I had hoped that we would set a higher standard for the position of "leader of the free world" and "most powerful person in the world" than even just a person we would want to date.

With how efficient the common bounce and removal options are on top of the higher density of token generators in this set, I can't imagine a Madcap Skills variant doing all that well.

That is a good point. This format looks really good for common board disruption.. and after LSV's set review of White continuing to mention how he'd basically always be making 1/1's instead of putting counters on his creatures, the goodness this would be in another format does not carry over to this one.

I got mixed up because the CARD is good - I'm sure we can agree to that, but the environment is not well suited for it?

Rather I would say that Madcap Skills is a mediocre card that really shined in the highly aggressive, low quality removal environment of Gatecrash.

Dramatic Reversal + Isochron Scepter is going to be a thing.

that is gonna be gross with mana rocks.
I mean, you only need 3 mana from rocks to go infinite, and that can be done with a single rock fairly easily. Astral Cornucopia (with 3+ counters), Basalt Monolith, Doubling Cube (with 9+ mana from other sources), Dreamstone Hedron, Everflowing Chalice (with 3+ counters), Gilded Lotus, Grim Monolith, Mana Vault, and Thran Dynamo all work. There are a number of mana dorks that tap for 3 or more mana at once, as well.

Combine with Azami to draw your entire deck.

In other words, -1/-1 counters and +1/+1 counters only cancel each other if the creature they're on is alive for the cancelling to occur. If a creature gets enough -1/-1 counters to die, it dies before any counter cancelling occurs. That creature may have a bunch of both +1/+1 and -1/-1 counters on it and any triggers which care about counter types will see the creature as having both.
