Okay so I control a Gideon Jura and a ghostly prison. My opponent controls 1 creature. Okay mainphase 2 I activate Gideon's +2 ability making my oppenents attack Gideon if able!!!! I then pass the turn. My opponent has a Dark Confidant out. He casts Primeval Titan only leaving him 2 mana sources open. He then passes the turn.
Can he pass the turn without having to attack me? Doesn't he have to attack me even though he has to pay 2 mana? Because Ghostly Prison doesn't make them not attack he just has to pay 2 more mana. Therefore tapping him out and attacking Gideon because technically he is able to!
if your running reflecting pool you cannot run any basics. I would try running fetches, basics, 3 shocks and some M10 lands.
hmmm....why couldn't you just run 1 Forest and 1 Swamp? Please elaborate? You could fetch for them if you didn't want to pain and reflecting pool runs off any of your lands.
With a deck that has so much suicide to it, it seems running filter lands and reflecting pool as the best choice! Of course you would pack 4 Verdant Catacombs with possible one of each shockland (aka: Overgrown Tomb, Stomping Grounds and Blood Crypt.
Why has nobody considered it????? Apart from being a better mana base, its also much cheaper! With cards like Dark Confidant "pinging" you every turn, it seem necessary to even have an even game against zoo.
Name me one successful planes-walker out there that
1) didn't "protect" himself
2) didn't create board presence immediately afterwards
There has only been 1! Jace Beleren, Due to the fact he was so cheap and many just ignored him, because the "fog" would just be more advantage to the person who cast him.
I opened up a Jace at the pre-release and immediately traded him for Garruk, Primal Hunter. Face it magic players he will fail. He is nothing compared to JTMS and no other planes-walker ever will be. (Quotes from wizards of the coast) I think the planes-walker we need to have our eyes on is Garruk, Primal Hunter.
Sure he's also a whopping 5 mana, but he's green. Green as we all should know well equals mana ramp. On average he'll be turn 4. Now lets check out his spects.
1) Protects himself by +1 making him twice as hard to kill. I think we have seen that somewhere. Cough* Elspeth, Knight Errant Cough*
2) His -3 =harmonize if used the turn after. I hear green card draw is pretty good.
3) If you ever you use his last ability it could run right into DoJ, or end the game. NUFF SAID!
I'm not saying he'll be the new JTMS or EKE, but he'll be a strong planes-walker.
I have been playing my Rafiq of the Many deck for 7 months now and Putrefax has won me so many games! Yeah, think about it for a second... let it settle... double strike trample and infect.... 12 poison! you win!!! If you have Finest Hour on the battlefield kill 2 in 1 turn!
I just got on the computer to see if the price for my Jace has gotten any higher. As i speculated it did and now its more that JTMS???? Please explain!
Okay so it's my turn and I cast Shape Anew, my oppenent then responds with using his Throne of Geth to sacrifice his Necropede. Would I have priority and be able to resolve my spell or would it just fizzle, because of the lack of a target?
I just got done playing at a MTG standard tournament. I ended up going 3-2 in the tournament ending up in 7th beating all of my best friends! Horray:D
The decks I played were; Magical Hannakuh Land (basically Christmas Land but with Cruel Ultimatums), 2 Bant aggro decks (roughly the same as mine) oh and b.t.w. all the 3 Bant decks got in the top 8! (there were 21 people), RG aggro, and last but not least GWB Junk. Ironically the decks i lost to were the Bant decks.

That's just my 2 cents.

Just make sure you have 1 Counterspell in hand or give Lightning Greaves to save your Putrefax!
Thanks for the help
