I am not basing my opinion on if its going up or not, but just the idea that if you need money for something I am assuming is rather important, then you really just need to sell immediately.
Suppy Vs Demand does not explain a price rise for modern cards at all and never will. All of the prices were just raised so dealers can make more money off of old cards. There was no demand........none. The same day modern was announced every good card was put as zero in stock so the stores could raise prices and make more money. DO not give a supply demand arguement for modern or standard or any other format. The price has no bearing on that at all. It's called how much money can we get people to pay??? And that's it. Then the price decreases when they don't sell. While that even sounds like suppy and demand it's not. Or else there wouldn't be a $100 jace or a $50 jace, or a $50 fetch land. There are tons laying around in peoples binders I see them all of the time. People are hoarding and not trading them. Seeing what sucker they can get to trade a whole bunch of stuff for their one card. Hoarding= price rises, # of hoarders and bad traders is increasing exponentially.
Last weekend I tried to trade with over ten people and all I heard was their good cards weren't for trade.
All of my good cards or "cards in demand as staples" were massively undervalued that their own price guide was wrong and they decided not to use it.
Or I heard that all of my good stuff was "inflated".
There was soooo much bull**** and ripping going on, or trying to go on it was disgusting. SO zero of those trades went through. I barely want to deal with people in person anymore. Because everyone tries to rip me off.
Prices are rising only because people are not trading.
If ten people have a problem with your prices, its probably not them.
Yeah. I asked my LGS, but I've no clue wether I'll get it or what will be the price. If I find it for a reasonable (to me) amount I'll happily get it, otherwise I won't.
Can't understand this attitude. As I said is like complaining because a case costs 600$. Nobody forces you to buy a case, you don't need a case, you won't get a case unless you find it at a low enough price.
This is reasonable. But unfortunately many forget that WoTC does not care if everyone can get something, or cant. The Hype is driving up price, and they make money.
Well I feel like i wasted my time... But since its already wasted might as well give my 2 cents.
I don't think that either the Reddit troll or the reporter are really all to different. One becomes popular from being creepy and disturbing yet not illegal, while the reporter desires fame from exposing the identity of the famous using scandal. I don't agree with the content that the troll has posted and moderated, i think that this will continue and that his exposure isn't going to do much to change that. Also ironically the entire article will bring more fame to him, just as his fame was made from offending people, people who read this will also add to his fame by being offended by being exposed to who he is in real life. So is this really any different than if he had done it himself, and then is the reporter then any different from him in gaining fame?
People we have witnessed nature at its finest this article is clearly written by the meta troll of meta trolls... and he has succeeded at "eating" one of the most notorious trolls alive.
(Its about a exciting as watching paint dry...)
They have one key difference in their lives. One of them liked to look at pictures of underage girls, one of which was stolen. One of them admitted to molesting his step-daughter. So they are very different, and I maintain its perfectly reasonable what Gawker did.
I heard he was fired because of that. This got me worried.
Is this stuff strong enough of a motive for him to be fired in US? I mean, in Brazil doesn't matter what I do in my free time, if I'm a functional employee, I can't be fired unless the company pays a big fine.
One could make an argument he was a threat to the female employees of the company. Considering he ran a reddit called creepshots
I for one fully endorse this product. I wont be buying it because I really cant afford it right now. But I understand why Wizards is producing this. If they can release a limited run product, and it sells, then by god they really aught to. People need to remember that Wizards duty is not that every individual poster on the internet is happy, its that they make a good profit margin.
And alienating players=means a few people on the internet are unhappy. A very unusual course I am sure
As for alienating the fanbase, I didn't mean to imply that players would necessarily quit. I mean why would they... they already have the cards currently in their collection. Instead, what I (would hope) most people are saying is that this could cause a significant loss in consumer confidence and anticipation for future releases, possibly effecting the success of sets further down the line.
It wont. Even in the slightest. Everyone will forget the minute they realize a new dual deck or something
