Carter pictured the netting spiraling outwards, encompassing more of the room in sections. Ideally they wouldn't need to increased the surface much at all, instead sweeping it around and relying on its design to keep shades out of cleared areas.
Aster was quite certain that fresher hay had been laid over the older leavings quite recently, but wasn't able to find any loose items within the strands.
Up ahead, on the other side of the precarious bridge, a creature emerged from a dark tunnel. It was almost three feet tall and canine in appearance, sporting three heads. Its eyes glowed silver and its fur was black as the night, it prowled towards the edge of the bridge. Each head let out a loud bark that sounded for all the world like speech.
Aynat scored immediately, the barrel had a bracelet stashed atop its slightly odorous (and likely flammable) contents. It was a leather band, short enough that it might me skin tight on someone Fora's size. Pitch black with no adornment of any kind on the outside, the inner surface had two small but brilliant gems sewn into it, disks of emerald and sapphire.
Aster got a broader view of the room, there were four alcoves like the one that contained the mirror. One contained the aforementioned mirror, its floor was line with old hay which had obviously been disturbed some time in the last few days. One other alcove was similarly covered in hay, also looked like it had been disturbed. The other two alcoves were full of dust and cobwebs. The open room was dotted with barrels and included an upturned trough.
Kherren slipped on his mask with a sneer and his expression, his scars and tattoos all faded away. They were replaced by perfectly flat marble, etched with countless legal terms in innumerable tongues both modern and forgotten.
Cassandra sighed, lifting herself up from her kneeling position if for no other reason than not to be kneeling around Camillia for longer than necessary.
Cassandra hadn't even realised she was doing it but she had bent a knee to the elder vampire. From her bowed position she spoke up, her normal air of authority replaced by reverence.
Cassandra- I found out about it purely by chance, Your Grace, but it seems some individual or group has stolen the tome. I can't think of any other reason to do so than finding them...
Cassandra stood immediately once the presence appeared, suddenly uncomfortable being seated in such a presence. Noting that Sefirat hadn't begun speaking yet, she stepped forward.
Cassandra- Your Grace, we have reason to believe a group seeks to claim the Embers.

Cassandra- They're- hmm... how best to put this? As I understand it they're like buds if ley-lines were branches? ... Sefirat?
Damit- Are we nearly at the gates?
Cassandra- Nothing to add, though I hope that display hasn't stunned our new friends here to silence forever?
Subersu- Hey! Hey! Food?

Cassandra- I suppose that's settled, then.
Carter tried visualising a dome of netting around the group, if the shadows realised they could conjure enough power they might attack.
Damit- Damit.
Cassandra- Admonishing my life experience and lack thereof in the same breathe. Disappointing.
