Well, a high grade Ulimited BL goes for what, around $2k? That one is in pretty trash condition, but at $720 it would be worth to buy for play imo. However, due to the condition I do not see a large potential for resale profit down the road.
Hey everyone. I know we have a buy and sell thread but I decided this deserved its own thread since its quite a hefty card to purchase. I am looking into getting a black lotus to later flip. Also for collectors purposes essentially. I am looking at two cards:
1. MP-/HP Black Lotus Unlimited (back has lots of wear, front is better)
2. SP- Mishra's Workshop
I have attached pics. The cards are priced at 720$ and 324$ respectively. I may be able to work the prices down to around 500 and 225 respectively. Please let me know your thoughts on whether either card is worth either price (ex. Is the lotus worth it at 720 and then is it worth it at 500, etc)
A lot of the good ones have been mentioned already but I think it depends entirely on your deck and playstyle. I understand it is Azami so in this case, the ones others have suggested would be my go to's as well.
But to shed some light, in certain decks like cheap beatdown decks (ex. Edric), 1cmc counters are much more fitting. Things like flusterstorm, abjure, swan song, dispel, spell snare, etc deserve looks.
Gaea's Cradle performed quite well at the event three days ago, used as a four-of in a deck placing first. Yet the mid tcg price has continued to drop over the last few weeks.
One explanation is that elves have always been "the cheap legacy deck," and the perception of such makes it almost offensive to spend ~$500 on four cards. Another is that the price it initially shot up to (after the new legend rule) was misplaced, and that it was never really worth $150.
Does anyone want to try and explain the trend?
Its definitely the latter. Prices explode when people realize a card is going to be good in the near future. Then when everyone jumps in and they realize theres no one to really dump the cards to, they come back to a more realistic level.
I dont really use grand arbiter. Hes just there as a general but the whole idea is to fort up and win through a combo or one of the walkers or something. Typical UW control-ish type actually. Good luck!
So I recently got around to updating some of my EDH decks with new cards and considering what would be good. For my stax lists, I came across:
Ophiomancer
-This guy looks like a bomb card for black based stax lists. For one, it pays one smokestack trigger but on the plus side, with things like a sac outlet and a grave pact it can go bonkers. I will definitely be trying it out. A low CMC is ideal as well.
Purphoros, God of the Forge
-Yes you read that correctly. Purphoros! For red based stax lists using token production to feed the stack, its great! In jund stax list for example, you have TONS of token production and nugging ALL your opponents for 2 damage per token is pretty sweet. Additionally, it can pump your team to deal more damage if that is needed.
Some cards to consider for you guys. Ill be testing both of course.
What if I can get it at 500$ let me know. Thanks'

Pile A:
Foil Deathrite Shaman
Pile B:
Arid Mesa
Marsh Flats
Let me know thoughts. Thanks!
Buy MP German BB Tundra for 200$
The front of the card is probably SP- and the back is MP from what I hear. Pending pics of course but given that, let me know thoughts.
Thanks!

I agree with the others that answers are VERY important. I tend to run a ton but I usually play more controlling than most people.
This is actually EXACTLY what i was thinking and that is all. Just restrict resources and soft lock the board then use this for total control.
