All the obviously good cards start high in price. I'm looking for cards that will go up once their combo is discovered. Basically I speculate on what cards might get popular, as I'm sure dozens of others do. The only downside is that some of the cards might never get popular then I'm stuck with several playsets of them.
I'm pretty sure Ranger of Eos is a safe bet, and possibly Time Sieve too. Time will tell.
That's odd, Ajani Vengeant seems to be cheaper than it was a month or two ago. I've seen one Elspeth go for upwards of 25$ on ebay more than once so if they've stabilized in price that's news to me.
For example Ranger of Eos is slowly rising in price on Ebay, as is Elspeth (though much more quickly). Windbrisk Heights is also almost doubled in price since a month or two ago.
Any other cards you've noticed rising in price (either slowly or quickly)?
My B/R deck used Nameless Inversions and Lord of the Undeads for repeatable removal. Also it used Fleshbag Marauders as diabolic edicts. Not good against tokens, but excellent against other types of decks.
I quit around the time Mirrodin block came out but my friends dragged me back into the game a few months ago. Now I'm hooked again. My username comes from my favorite legend, and the crux of my Power Artifact / Basalt Monolith legacy deck.

But to be fair, the $$$ cards usually are the ones that help me out most. Coincidence?
Nice to meet you all.
