COD4 and 5 won't be as fun because most people will be playing MWF2, just get the new one when it comes out in november.
I take that back, Cod4 had a really cool story that is relevant to the story of Modern Warfare 2.
Taurean Mauler is crazy in multiplayer, but he usually gets zapped with an incinerate for lethal the turn he hits the board. Wrath effects are usually a must-have in multiplayer( Warth of God and friends). Word of Seizing and things that steal opponents' spells and creatures are good. Forgotten Ancient goes well with Phantom Nishoba and Kitchen Finks, or pretty much anything that has 'Phantom' in the name or Persist creatures. Graft creatures are also a good choice with Forgotten Ancient, perhaps G/W/U?
P.S.- As of today, damage no longer uses the stack, so you can't remove all counters from Ancient anymore to put them on an unblocked creature Q.Q May you rest in peace, Damage on the stack...
Trygon Predator would be good in here, but I'm having a hard time finding room.
@King T: As cool as that would be, a 3rd color seems a little convoluted to me, and banefires are out of budget I'm not too worried about decking myself because I'm hoping to put them at zero long before that.
@noodle: I'd love mystic snakes in here, but again, trouble finding room for them.
@Halted: Sakura-Tribe Elder and Civic Wayfinder let me get lands a) to get sages out faster and b) let me get lands after sages come out to play multiple spells per turn + Kamahl. My deck strategy is to draw insane amounts of creatures then swarm my opponent (Heartwood Storyteller, Mikokoro and Masked Admirers are additional recurring Sage triggers.) With so much card draw peppered with win cons and evasive creatures, i would go so far as to say that this deck could probably shake off a 'wrath' effect.
@raijin: I can't take credit for the storytellers, a friend of mine was flipping through his binder and made an on-the-spot reccomendation
I'd like to put witnesses in this deck (i just got 1 in a pack the other day), but a friend of mine said they belong in mid-range combo decks, as opposed to aggro in its truest form.
I'm still on the fence about coiling oracle because he doesn't technically 'draw a card', he reveals the top and puts it int your hand, which won't trigger sages. A cool card though.
Also: i had the idea of making this controllish by adding Spiketail Drakeling, spiketail hatchling, Eternal witnessmystic snake, and voidmage husher. Would that be a good idea? (sorry for lengthy post)
This was a random thought, but you could use Tolaria West to get Slaughter Pact, Pact of Negation (non-budget) or Orinthopter, a turn-1 FREE defensive creature and an instant-speed spot removal you can play even when tapped out. If weenie aggro gives you trouble, Infest and Tidehollow Strix might help for defense/mass removal. Hope this deck works out. If you ever get the scratch, Damnation answers just about every aggro-shaped threat there is.
I like this deck, good use of Skullclamp... AEther Vial and pumped hasty goblins must make this deck really fast, so should your combo fail, straight-up aggro can't be too hard to pull off. Btw, did you hint at this deck being for multiplayer?
nice deck! U/B is my favorite color combo. Quicksilver Dragon is a nice finisher, and you're able to tutor for the components of your combos, which is good. You're deck is composed entirely of playsets, making it as consistent as possible. All i could possibly reccomend is a few removal spells for the early game like Doom Blade or Agony Warp, but you'll only know if that's a good idea through playtesting with your playgroup. Oblivion Stone seems a little iffy because it takes time to set up, and would just get destroyed in the turn it takes to put a fate counter on one of your permanents before you 'wrath' with it. Again, nice deck
I knew that Lorescale wouldn't get counters if Sages was in play, but it seemed okay to have two interactions where one could cancel the other (don't know wwhat i was thinking). I guess it could be swapped for a set of Trygon Predators. Lurking Predators looks cool, I'll try to get a couple for this deck.
@ Raijin: going G/W/U wouldn't be a bad idea, that opens me up to Qasali Pridemage, Watchwolf and other cool cards. Then i could use my favorite card (Phantom Nishoba) as a finisher
A 3/1 on turn 2 that they don't want to kill is awesome! I'm a little torn now, however, because i could go into pretty much any color combo since the deck is mostly artifacts :/ Maybe i'll keep it mono-colored for simplicity. Here are the different decks i could build, they all have the same core:
if you could have submitted these at the time of alpha/beta you might have gotten a job. For what they are they are good, just not professional, which you are not so its ok.
Exactly what i was thinking; the style is reminiscent of older cards. Even though they don't necessarily blend with more modern card art direction it's unique and vintage-ish. Do you have anything else you could scan and post? I really like your paintings
If you can keep going with that kind of thing, do it; just because you didn't become an MTG artist doesn't make you bad at what you do.
Flagstones of Trokair can replace a land sac'd to Knight of the reliquary to keep your tempo consistent. Kitchen Finks goes nicely with Juniper Order Ranger. Krosan Verge gets lands into your graveyard and accelerates you a little. Knotvine Paladin, Knight of Meadowgrain, White Knight and Akrasan squire are noteworthy knights that could speed your deck up by filling in the lower curve. I like Overrun in this deck, excellent finisher. Selesnya Guildmage goes well with the Juniper order Ranger, putting a Saproling into play at instant speed.

Nice deck, hope this was helpful.
