I say we censor the word "broccoli" here on Salvation. It will have about the same effect as SS censoring "salvation" on MTGnews - nothing.

In fact, I'm pretty sure there will be a lot of people joining up here because of this, just like they did when he said he would ban anyone for linking here a few days ago. It's like he's trying to get rid of the last few people using MTGnews.

I'm not sure if the source wants me to say who they are, so I'll go on the side of caution and not reveal his name. But suffice it to say, Stir the Grave is definitely in BOK, no doubt about it.

Stir the Grave - X mana black mana
    Sorcery (C)
Return target creature card with converted mana cost of X or less from your graveyard to play.
"And me without my big spoon!"

Unearth trumps this, bigtime. But in the mid to late game, Stir the Grave is Zombify. It's a decent card and I think it will be played, especially with that rumored Corpse Dance / Shallow Grave variant in this set. Will make for some fun reanimation decks!

And the flavour text kicks ass.

Maybe we should use the banned list from MTGNews (and Misetings and other Magic boards as well) to pre-emtptively ban anyone on MTG Salvation with a similar name?

And just for clarity, I don't run MTG Salvation at all. I may be a global moderator, but I never asked to be, and I haven't handed out a single warning. Please don't tell me what duty I have here.

This is starting to get disgusting on both sides. R_E and TNK, you guys are sounding really smug right now, and it isn't becomming. S_S isn't in the right, but he's desperate and at least is open in his offense. You guys are just sitting there making snide remarks, and it's not helping. I realize you are both being publicly dissed, but take it a little more cooly.

Alright, thanks for the reality check. I can't see anywhere that I was smug or snide, but if you prefer me to be quiet, I will.

I'm going to get my eBay work done. Anyone can msg me on AIM if they want. Sorry if I came across badly.

I don't get it, ZONEACE. Are you saying it's Numen's fault that MTGnews has spammers? I must be missing something here. Are those Numen's alternate accounts or something? What gives?

...spam raids. And while I know you are taking a "public" stance against them, I beleive fully in my heart that you, behind the scenes, promoting and helping anyone who wanted to do it.

I'm not sure who you're talking to, but all I can say is that you're pretty paranoid. There's no hidden group of "Salvation Spamraiders" planning their next attack on News.

    Quote from SubSpirit »
I hate your guts and you should hope to never meet me face-to-face as it would not turn out good for you.

Whoever you're talking to, I don't appreciate threats. If you're talking to me, bring it. If you're talking to someone else here, I advise you to retract your threat. I'm somewhat amused that you can't control yourself enough to refrain from threatening the physical safety of someone else on a public forum. You're clearly smart enough to know that this is probably either illegal or treading really thin water.

EDIT: Plastik, I was making a joke Smile

If you want to see blacklisted, I can show you blacklisted. It would not be funny. Just remember this - right now I'm allowed the words "MtG Salvation" and a link in people's sigs. You piss me off one more time, I will throw both of those into total lockdown on the site.

    Thanks for the explanation.

I welcome you to "black list" this website on MTGnews. If by your definition that means that you won't allow anyone to mention it whatsoever, big deal? We function as a group - a team. Friends, companions... fellow players, collectors, designers, judges, buyers, sellers, and traders. We network on email, message programs, and even by phone and in person. You can block and censor people from saying "the" if you want, and it won't make a difference to us. The community is gone from MTGnews. I'm sorry, but you have lost. We haven't moved to try to destroy you. We moved because you nearly destroyed us.

Remember this: at it's peak time, Salvation doesn't have 25% of the users news has. Salvation NEEDS News. News does NOT need Salvation.

I don't know what you mean by "peak time" but I suspect you're referring to numbers of members currently viewing the forum. Today when I looked, mid afternoon (early evening on the other coast), there were almost 300 people viewing Salvation, and just over 200 viewing News. Salvation doesn't need News, and News doesn't need Salvation. You're thinking about it incorrectly. Salvation is News minus you.

Kuberr, I just wanted to say that I think you're a great administrator so far. I don't object to you using the word "********" if you think it's necessary, because this is your board. Perhaps it should be a "mature rating" or PG16 type setting, I don't know, but I'm not going to try and berate you for using that word.

Plasik, be careful, or people (carpo? Denver?) will accuse you of calling me "God" and thinking in "black and white" and not being objective enough. :p Thanks, though. I wasn't a perfect admin. I never asked for the job. I was pushed into rumor mill mod, I was randomly selected by DG (pretty much) to be a global, and by some kind of default I ended up as acting admin in the good old days. I grew into the position. I think most of what you say is true. One thing I did lack was an interest in "forum politics". I rarely followed the "who hates who" and "who's joining who's clan" stuff on News. It just became really unimportant to me. When something would happen, like an incident or big flame war or something, I'd have to ask a moderator who was more "connected" to explain it to me, so I could make a decision about what to do. If I was more involved in the drama in the first place, I wouldn't have had to rely on others to help me. But overall, I was pretty connected and involved in most aspects of forum life, and hope to continue to be.

subs, what do you mean by "blacklisted". Do you mean that MTG Salvation is "an enemy" of MTGnews, or something? I've never seen the term used in this context before.

    Carpo:

As mikeyG said, I didn't post information from MTGnews's mod lounge. The information that was posted happened to be a couple of posts, one of mine, and one of JeffVondruska's, but it was urzassedatives who revealed them, when he quit. Cateran did post information from the mod lounge (it was one of his own posts).

That said, I support any and all leaks from said mod lounge. If I didn't know that somebody would go through it with a fine tooth comb beforehand and delete/edit/warp the posts contained therein, I'd advocate for somebody to reveal the entire thing to the community. As Mystic implied, conversations held between volunteers and the owner of a website can be deemed "private", but there's nothing wrong with showing those conversations to those they involve, especially after the volunteers no longer "work" for the owner. Especially considering there was never any contract involved. And if there was a contract between owner and volunteers involved, the owner surely violated it multiple times. Sure, he could fire someone who did that, but none of us "work" there any longer.

carpo's claim that I have posted mod lounge information is untrue. His claim that I have made "insultatory" and "libelous" comments to S_S is untrue. As for telling me to stop "making excuses", I can't figure out to what he refers. I haven't made any excuses (for what, anyway?) You ask for facts, but that's all I've given - I don't think you've been following the proceedings, carpo. As for being angry and hurt, you got that part right! I'm quickly getting over it.

And I've never stopped participating in my clan thread, general discussions, or talks in the Forum Control section with other mods on how to improve the site. I've also been working on filling in the partial spoiler.

I'm pretty sure you're simply here to cause more problems. Please don't.

can someone please tell me why I should provide ANY even slight recognition of this site after your owner came in and cursed on our front page comments?

Whereabouts was this? Is it still there? If so, please link me... I can't find it. If it has been removed, do you have a copy? If not, do you remember basically what it said? I suppose it's possible someone could have done so using his name. The front page doesn't require a login of any kind.

It is obvious he has no respect for us - why should we have any for him?

    He does't want your respect.

Anyway, you're welcome here, Scott. Sincerly, have a look around, stop by to chat when you have a minute, and so on. Make yourself at home.

EDIT: corrected myself (didn't know who was being referred to)

Unless Subbie posts as Rancored Elf somwhere, I don't see how its identity theft. Sure, it's sorta childish to keep him from the account if he isn't banned, but if he's not actively posting things claiming to be who he isn't, it's not even clsoe to illegal, from my point of view.

Broaden your mind. Posting on a forum isn't the only kind of identity theft. There's things like online banking, email accounts, chat programs, eBay... it's not just posting in forums.

R_E: is it true that now your Email address at News directs to an inbox S_S controls?

Not exactly. I think he changed the address to his, then told News to "send this user his password by email", then logged in as me, changed my password, and then changed my email back to mine.

I can't log in - password doesn't work. Apparently I'm not banned, but I can't log in, change my settings, etc.

I've changed all my passwords that were shared with MTGnews, since I think he has that password. ARrrrrrg.

This forum is vital to us.

    - people don't know what happened... they're showing up and asking why News is dying, and why this place is here... this forum provides information
    - people are not "over it" yet, and need somewhere to read and post about it... if this wasn't here, those kind of posts would be all over the forums!
    - I get asked about twice a minute on AIM "what happened... I'm so confused, what is Salvation and what happened at News?"..... if I have to refer those people to Misetings to get their info, that'd suck
    - News (S_S in particular) is censoring people and not letting them talk about this huge injury in the community. If we do the same, we're just as bad. This needs to be a time of healing.

I say we avoid flaming people, including S_S, and use this forum as a chance to heal, and let people know the truth. When it's not needed anymore, posts will die down, and that'll be the signal to close the forum and put it into the archives.

Efforts are underway to get all the posts from this forum back (they were accidentally deleted during the move).
