    I dont get why you want to make Nocturnus a Hill Giant as opposed to a wincon :p Pro-black wont matter if they cant race us in the air...
    Plus, gravelord can be sided out in the few games it wont help. Every deck runs removal but Path does laugh at it. Again, I dont think Banefire is that much better than Consume Spirit.
    And to whoever corrected me about Tendrils vs. CS: I know Tendrils does more for "less", but it doesnt hit players which was the distinction I was making. Yes it gains life, and yes it will usually gain more for cheaper, but it doesnt allow reach and it cant kill your opponent. Which is why I still consider CS as a contender.

    For this debate, have you considered Needlebite Trap?

    The W one is our new Spectral Procession/Cloudgoat Ranger, but that Black Ascension...I've been waiting for that...and I'm not disappointed at all. <3 The Green one is gaining a place in my Rith, the Awakener EDH

    Bump? Nobody has any suggestions for this? I mean, other than stupidly expensive suggestions like original duals, or unfun combos such as Crucible-Mine, and other stuff of that nature.

    @3drinks- you have to proxy the cobra he is amazing in the deck like posters before have said he turns a fetch into a black lotus, and he can let you turn 3 turn Nixilis and it is just huge with ramping your spells, and the knight of the white orchid is just a fragile as the cobra. And you may not get a chance to use his ability.

    Also playtesting this deck is really funny because sometimes i run out of basics to fetch for. lol

    Well, the Knight also has 1st strike, so he isn't as easy to get mobbed. I mean, he doesn't have the target on him that Cobra does. Nevertheless though, I'll try a few runs with KotWO, and with the Cobra as well, just to be sure which one will truly work out better for me. I'm a cheap arse, and I already have my set of Knights...I don't particularly want to shell out $30 or so each for Cobras at release. Because I just know they'll be that high.

    I really truly like this idea, and I do plan on building it...but to me, the Lotus Cobras aren't gonna pan out. They're incredibly fragile, and have a huge target on them. I don't want to invest in something as unstable as them. Here's my list I'm thinking;

    I think that's what I'll try and build. As a matter of fact, I think I'll proxy that up and play it a bit versus my bro sometime this week. I'm contemplating replacing Duress with Tidehollow Sculler maybe. On the fence about that. I have decided to replace the 2 Zealous Persecution SB with 2 Celestial Purge instead. Unless a strong weenie or token deck comes about, I think the 2 MD Zealous is enough.

    Okay, I currently am running BR Vampire Control in Std...but I need some help/ideas on making this more viable for Std. I mean, I've seen the stuff that is coming out...but I'm unsure of what to put into my deck. I'd like to keep it BR as I finally got my playset of Dragonskull Summits at the last FNM, so I'd like to, you know, actually use them. Here's the shell, then my post-ZEN choices for it;

    Okay so I want to keep the deck with Black splash Red. That much I know. Now, I want to cut any spells that aren't black. Which would be the Lightning Bolt, and the Earthquake. Earthquake I've been using like a one-sided Damnation, so to speak, but it does clash with what I'm doing with the "everything needs to have black in it" theme.

    Anathemancer I plan to move out in favor of that new Vampire Hexmage, I think? Probably the same three-of, too.

    Black Knight to become Gatekeeper of Malakir, pretty self-explanatory IMO.

    Everything else (SB wise) seems okay. Now for the MD stuff.

    I'm seeing Hypnotic Specter being replaced by Vampire Nighthawk x4. I'll cut one other card for the fourth one. I plan on Vein Drinker to become Sorin Markov as a finisher.

    Now, I see all of these other cards I'd <3 to use. Disfigure, Doom Blade(idk maybe), Vampire Lacerator, Bloodghast, and maybe even Deathmark as SB tech(though admittedly I tried Deathmark before, and I just couldn't find space to keep it in). Also, Gargoyle Castle is in here as a two-of for obvious reasons.

    So please...help me?

    You could try to make a Jund ramp deck with dragons primaly, Broodmate Dragons, (if you have money to throw away, Chameleon Colossus), Bogardan Hellkite and Hellkite overlord. 3-4 Garruk Wildspeaker, 2-3 firespout, 3x jund charm and ramp spells like Fertile Ground and few Rampant Growths, and you should do much better. Ramping fast to Broodmate Dragon is very troublesome, especially when you keep on wiping the board with Jund Charm and firespout. And if you have kitchen finks, use them against aggro decks. Also, get Primal Command's and singleton Broodmother Dragon and maybe some other 1of (the new phoenix?) to tutor, you can also find some other creatures, like Broodmate Dragon if you really need it.

    I myself have a nice Jund Ramp deck with a lot of dragons, and the best play I've ever had was:

    t1 - Savage Lands
    t2 - Forest -> Fertile Ground
    t3 - Forest -> tap out for Garruk Wildspeaker -> untap 2x forest and place Fertile Ground on Savage Lands
    t4 - Mountain -> tap out for Broodmate Dragon -> untap 2x fertile lands and save mana for Jund Charm
    t5 - Mountain -> tap most of the lands, untap 2 with garruk, tap some more lands, play Hellkite Overlord and see the enemy cry when Chameleon Colossus, Broodmate + token and Hellkite Overlord attack Grin

    A ha...so when I built this deck, I should have gone with more of a Warp World build instead? Actually, I like the way the Warp World would look possibly...

    elaborate? lol?

    It's a 2/1 first strike that you can sac to remove all the counters from a permanent...

    Also, is it just me, or is mono-B Vampires looking really good? I mean, even better than the BR control build I started with.

    I was thinking of making this deck as well but I was going to splash black with the fetchlands for Ob-Nixilis. I think he is the best landfall card that can almost end games on the spot in the right deck when you drop him.

    I was also thinking about a variant of him, but I didn't want to run him in this particular deck(I wanted to keep this explosive like GW can get). I did however think of a Rock version featuring landfall, Harrow, and Ob Nixilis, mainly so I can call the deck...Ob-Rock. Yeah, Ob-Rock lol >_>.

    I played this again this week, wound up going 2-3 overall. :/

    I lost round 1, 2, and 5 to Jund, then B/R, then B/G Elves, then I won round 3, and 4 versus janky B/U Rogues and R/G Aggro respectively. The Rogue felt hollow as it was piloted by a 12 yr old kid, and the R/G player was stuck on 2 lands BOTH games.

    Overall I got lots of time to think about this deck through out five rounds, and after watching the way the deck worked...I've come to the conclusion that it just can't keep up with the top decks. It's not meant for Std, it just wants to be casual. I can accept that, but now I'll be focusing on my B/R Vampire control, and my G/W Landfall for post-ZEN.

    Feel free to post in here about other dragon decks you guys make, and other stuff of that nature. I'll read it all, dragons do still have a soft spot in my heart <3.

    I agree, we all have some vastly different approaches to the build, which is great for the game itself. It showcases one mechanic, and already just the three of us have found incredible ways to go about it, and they all look superb.

    I like ramp decks. It helps to insure I'm not land screwed, and lets me play some big fatties for my opponent to sweat about.

    My friend Nightfall Gemini has his approach. On the surface, sure, it just looks like a stack of cards that are the most powerful of that colour, but the list still looks intimidating.

    Then there's you TPC, using the same landfall mechanic to power out GWB-Ob build, that also sounds incredibly powerful.

    And I'm sure there will be others who come up with an even more ingenious way to use landfall to fuel more decks.

    I'm just sayin', I <3 what this mechanic is doing for the game.

    I'd run this as a two-of in my SB for GW Landfall. Seems pretty sweet.

    Well my first thought is that fetches are a must here. I don't know if you forget them in your list or if you have something against them, but they NEED to go in. At least 8, I'm thinking maybe 12. If we do that the sunpetal groves may need to be cut too though so it might be better at 8. G/x and W/x will do fine.

    I'm not quite as sold on the spearbreaker or the 4/4 baloth. If anything I think the new uncounterable guy would be good sideboard against control.

    I'm still holding out for a solid 2-drop creature aside from Orchid Knight, because I don't particularly like it. It's not very good 2nd turn unless you're on the draw, so it's more sideboard-ish.

    The fetches as they are just enemy coloured, I'm not sold on needing 8 to run this deck. The Terramorphics are there for the same purpose, and in a ramp deck like this...I personally don't think the one land coming into play tapped is gonna hurt that much. IMHO, obv.

    Spearbreaker is obv late game insurance(hence just one of him) that in a sense, makes an opponent's Day of Judgments bad. And yeah, I like the Terra Stomper as an answer to control too. Baloth Woodcrasher just looks like it'll be insane with a well-placed Harrow ruining combat for an opponent. Or a popped Terramorphic. Maybe cut the Woodcrasher to a two-of, and up the Rampaging Baloths to a four-of?

    As for the two-drop, we could always try the Wildfield Borderpost for a better chance at hitting the T-2 extra land. Though that does lower our overall landfall opportunities, but it could be worth it. Maybe we could also try Noble Hierarchs as additonal non-land mana, thus making it easier to hit KotWO as he should be.
