That thing is gonna rock some ****...and probably be the newest member of the "Hi, I'm a mythic rare, and I cost over $30" club.
And the Red Ascension is pretty bonkers. Remember Chandra Ablaze? Yeah...oh yeah...<_<

Oh yeah, thanks. I guess I didn't find that at first. :/

22 lands in MD not 23....
Oh snap, my bad. I just mis-represented it on here. I have 3 Savage Lands, not 2. It's in the deck and all, just must have slipped by when I was typing this up. Sorry. Hopefully I'll have those replaced when I can get two more Dragonskull Summits.
Also, thanks for the support NotStiffler.
Sep 15, 2009Posted in: Standard ArchivesQuote from kaijiaexcept when they're called armadillo cloak/rancor, auras are all bad.
yes, shield of the oversoul and runes of the deus are bad.
While I agree auras are bad as they get you 2-for-one'd...they don't/can't 2-for-1 Uril. Only way to get rid of them once they hit on him, is to sweep.
Sep 15, 2009Hi guys,Posted in: Standard Archives
I've actually been contemplating a build similar to this. A friend of mine made a deck he calls "Protect the Angel"(i.e. Baneslayer Control) so as I like Naya so much, I've thought about my own twist on his deck that I want to title "Protect the Miststalker".
I have a small base to start with, the standard FoDs, Wild Nacatls, Ranger of Eos, Woolly Thoctar, Bloodbraid Elf...then using Spellbreaker Behemoth(tho proly a SB card) and Enlisted Wurm with Vexing Shusher(tho proly also SB) and then dropping a fat 5/5 troll shrouded body in Uril, the Miststalker. Maybe keeping up with Angel with a Uril + Behemoth Sledge/Shield of the Oversoul/even Indestructibility? That new 3WWW aura in ZEN screams BOMB-TASTIC with a solid hard to kill body like Uril wearing it. Hell, you could even run a singleton of something crap like Asha's Favor to make Uril swing for the fences, then he also has vigilance to defend too...

Yeah, I agree. The Bit Blast is awesome for that. I actually beat my bro(he was using my Jund Dragons) because I had a Child and Nocturnus on the field, with a Nocturnus on top. He attacked with his six saprolings, and I Bit Blasted one and cascaded into that Nocturnus--flipping over another Child. Turned the combat into a blowout for me, and I got to recover from near-death with a six point life gain from Child plus double Nocturnus. Needless to say, I won on the next turn.
Sep 14, 2009Posted in: Multiplayer Commander DecklistsQuote from DalkonCledwinIf you are having a lot of problems with Erayo, simply run a deck with cards that have the rules text "Can't be countered." there are approximately 15 such cards that do strictly that, and 2 of them make it so other cards in your deck also can't be countered (i.e. Vexing Shusher & Spellbreaker Behemoth). Additionally there is the card Banefire which can't be countered if 5 or more mana has been payed for X, and Demonfire which can't be countered if you have hellbent. Further in addition to all of these, you can also run Boseiju, who shelters all which makes practically every non-creature card (with the exception of your enchantments, artifacts, and planeswalkers) uncounterable.
Ooh yeah...can't believe I didn't think about Spellbreaker or the Shusher. Those are pretty budget too. (makes note to include those into my Rith EDH) haha.
Sep 14, 2009Posted in: Multiplayer Commander DecklistsQuote from lilmishrayeh I made a real fun zombie deck its awesome to play with my friends, but at the card store the EDH tournaments all the people play spike EDH style, alot of those kids even net deck the damn things, netdecking a freaking EDH deck for christs sake!!!!, but anyways my zombie deck is fun but does nothing vs these combo control spike netdecks, that's why I built this deck, in a response of righteous fury, all of their infinite combos I will counter and own, and ultimately get them into an annoying ass lock. Will it win? Very possible. Will it be pretty? Not at all. I'm making another version that is green blue, gets the Erayo, Arcane lock out pretty consistently turn 5 with counters to back it up and force it through, but is more fun for me to play.
I originally started playing this format with all my friends because we wanted to use all our timmy cards and make timmy zombie and sliver and goblin decks, but that's not how the metagame works sadly-my competitiveness is takin over:cool:
Damn dude, I feel for ya man. I made a Rith EDH and one of the first times I played it at the shop, I wound up in the Strip Mine + Crucible of Worlds Lock, never getting over five mana so I could never play my general, and then I'd just sit there and wait for him to win. He used Uril, the Miststalker as his general, too. Well, ether Uril or Brion Stoutarm. He switched to a different deck, a BR that used this 3 CMC general, that when you sac a creature, the general deals 2 damage to creature or player, obviously taking advantage of the general damage rule. So he spammed the hell out of the legendary land Kher Keep and I just couldn't get around that. Instant-speed win-cons FTL.
Sep 14, 2009Arcane Lab + Erayo while flipped sounds like a pretty solid lock. Do you often get pissed off players who refuse to play against such a ridiculous lock? I mean, it (in a sense) statesPosted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
"Players may only waste the mana they have on board on each of their turns. Since you are playing blue, you may have fun brutally rapping any possible strategy your opponents may try to come up with."
Don't get me wrong, I'm sure this combo would pwn in Legacy or the likes...but dude, c'mon...EDH is for fun, I can't see people actually enjoying playing such a game as you are trying to produce with his kind of build.
Sep 14, 2009It's been awhile, but I've finally retooled my Naya EDH, and it's seen some, IMHO, fairly drastic facelifts, but all the while still maintaining it's base approach to the game. Anyway, here it goes.Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
Still Seeking: Eternal Dragon; Crop Rotation; Bloodshot Cyclops; Desolation Giant; Painter's Servant
Sep 13, 20093drinks posted a message on [ZEN] WoTC Sept 14 Previews - Turntimber Ranger, UR Fetch, OthersSweet, I might have to retool my Naya deck, seeing the 4/6 and the aura. The aura may be clunky and attract removal, but what about when you cast it on Uril, the Miststalker? That, in a sense, can turn Uril into a 3-coloured Progenitus, in theory.Posted in: The Rumor Mill
Sep 13, 2009Posted in: Standard ArchivesQuote from taint666As to the Vedalken Heretic discussion: I'd really like for my deck to have 7-8 two-drops, 4 of those will be Jhessian Infiltrator, and I'm just considering the Heretic for the other slot. More than likely it will end up being Qasali Pridemage, but I figure Heretic is worth testing at least.
If you're gonna run Heretic, which I believe is questionable at best, you really need to tun Lorescale Coatl as well. If Heretic hits, he just gets killed, but pair him with Lorescale, and suddenly your opponent isn't as worried about your little 1/1 Heretic, instead looking at the Lorescale.
Just my two cents.
