Didn't you make a deck with Gosta Dirk before, only it was Warriors or something? I remember because you had mentioned Warriors is pretty boring.
I like this one more myself.

Jan 18, 2010I love it! I'm glad you made this to follow-up your Chandler deck. One thing I could say, since you have Darksteel Reactor already, is why not run Dismantle? It destroys artifacts, and also functions as the combo out with Reactor.Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
You can also run Mirrodin's Core replacing a Mountain. I suggest this, because your Power Conduit can move counters from that, onto the Reactor itself.
Jan 17, 2010Aryakin pretty much sums up my thoughts. I'll be honest, I do have a Blue deck I play for EDH, but it's esper colours(Sharuum the Hegemon). I think I run a total of...like, 4 counters. Just enough to deal with stuff that my deck doesn't have an answer to otherwise(the original intent of counterspells in the first place). Hell, my counters aren't even "traditional" or annoying ones, I use...Power Sink, Last Word, Hinder, and Rewind...and to a totally different purpose, Trickbind. All the counters are about 4 cmc anyway.Posted in: Commander (EDH)
Of course, what do I know, I play mass-LD main deck(but I have the decency to tell people before the game starts that I run mass-LD). If they don't like mass-LD, I just play my aggro beats Stonebrow, Krosan Hero deck. Hell, I actually finding myself playing Stonebrow more often tan not because it's proving to be fun as hell <_<.
Jan 14, 2010Posted in: Commander (EDH)Quote from ChrisRTaylor09When playing my Sharuum deck in multi... Every single spell I resolve. It pisses me off lol
I know the feeling, I play Sharuum as well, and as soon as I drop Mycosynth Lattice, I get the looks. Then Darksteel Forge, and I get rushed. The Nev Disk and it's like everyone else does *epic facepalm* in unison.
I don't even have to assemble the combo, I still get those kinds of reactions anyway <_<.
Jan 14, 2010Posted in: Multiplayer Commander DecklistsQuote from jokalhaupsP.S. If only I had Karakas.
Not sure if you realize it or not, but Karakas is actually banned in EDH. I guess they don't want players bouncing the other guy's general every turn lol.
Jan 14, 2010Posted in: Commander (EDH)Quote from Kaziyeah after looking around i noticed there are quite a bit of useful lands that are cheap and since im not going competitive, im not to worried about the manabase anymore, i was looking into the Scion of the Ur-Dragon decks, i have a lot of the cards to make that deck so im considering going in that direction, but i still really like the azami decks
Scion is an awesome choice of a general, I love Scion decks. However, even going a budget route, 5c mana bases are rough, and you have lots of tapped lands that will really hurt your tempo. That's just the price you pay for having access to all five colours. Go onto Gatherer and set the search filter to "lands" then browse what it comes up with. It's about 17 pages to go through, and some nice options you might appreciate, like Crystal Querry, if your heart is really set on a five colour budget mana base deck.
Jan 14, 2010First off, let me say welcome to the game. It's always nice to see new players to the wonderful world of EDH.Posted in: Commander (EDH)
When picking a deck, pick one that represents your own personal play style, your personality. My bro uses Niv-Mizzet, the Firemind(sans Curiosity). I use Stonebrow, Krosan Hero and Sharuum the Hegemon because I love artifacts and I love the RG colour combination(and I can have all the colours represented in two decks). A friend of mine has like...5 or 6 different EDH decks.
Anyway, you get the point. Certain things are frowned upon at the EDH table, namely Land Destruction, Infinite Combos that go off around turn 5, and life setting effects, e.g. Sorin Markov and Magister Sphinx. While these cards/themes aren't banned by any means, just know that when you do this kind of stuff, you will earn a bullseye on your face from the other players(trust me, I know, I used to use Strip Mine + Crucible of Worlds + Azusa, Lost but Seeking lol).
Sorry to keep going on and on, but one least thing I want to tell you. Putting together your mana base can be one of the most expensive parts of the deck, but don't be daunted by that. You can always do that slowly, one step at a time, or find functional versions of cards that are way cheaper to get. Like, getting Mirage fetchlands over the Onslaught ones. There's not that much hindrance between the two, and the land you search for still enters the battlefield untapped. Mountain Valley(for example) still says search for a Mountain or Forest instead of "a basic land" like Terramorphic Expanse says. Hell, I just ordered like...22 lands off of blackborder.com and it cost me about $16.50(shipping included) and now I only lack big stuff like Rishadan Port, Wasteland, Taiga, and co.
Damn, I typed a helluva lot. Sorry bro.
tl;dr version: Just have fun, and don't stress out over how expensive/daunting it can be to put together the optimal cards in your EDH deck.
Jan 13, 2010Posted in: The Rumor MillQuote from Heymybigfishthis does in now way represent B imo
I agree, it looks more Simic-ish(UG) in a sense. But I could definitely see it as just U.
To the guy with the Shackles land, that thing is busted beyond belief. Free, uncounterable control magic effect? Roflmao, dude. Maybe if it was something like...
~ enters the battlefield tapped. You may choose not to untap ~ during your untap step. Whenever ~ becomes untapped, you lose 4 life.
At the beginning of your upkeep, you may discard a card from your hand. If you don't, sacrifice ~.
:symtap:: add U mana to your mana pool
1UU,:symtap:: Gain control of target creature with power less than or equal to half the number of islands you control(rounded down) as long as ~ remains tapped.
Jan 13, 2010As someone who ran Darksteel Reactor combo in Mirrodin Standard, allow me to say Magnus, that you need stuff to back it up. It just can't happen on it's own(one Boomerang/Into the Roil/Echoing Truth will have you crying). Coretapper, as well as Power Conduit(to move counters from other stuff to the Reactor) and if your group allows it, Giant Fan from the Unglued set to supplement the Power Conduit. Ideally, you'd want Dismantle for that, but it's R so yeah...<_<.Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
Hope this helps Magnus, and keep up the good work.
Jan 10, 2010Posted in: Standard ArchivesQuote from PeterjohnIt's good enough to beat spread' em, and jund if you run counters MB, This deck is good enough to win FNM which makes it playable
Awesome, do you have a list I could look at? I've been looking for something good to use on MTGO for Standard as well that won't cost me an arm and a leg.
Jan 10, 2010Where's your Eternal Witness? Seriously, that's one of G's best creatures, and she's never been a bad top deck for me(or anyone else I know, really). In a large format like EDH, Recursion is like boobs; you're never upset to see them, and you're always wanting some more.Posted in: Multiplayer Commander Decklists
Jan 8, 20103drinks posted a message on Anyone have a playgroup that uses a rule like this?Posted in: Magic GeneralQuote from Flame Master AxelInstead of this rule, how about you try playing Zombie? Once you're out, you shuffle up everything you own and start over. You can't win, but you can't lose either, so you still get to play while everyone else is as well. That way, if one person gets out super early, they aren't sitting around for 2 hours waiting.
I personally think instead of creating rules that change the fundamental balance of the game, you create formats that allow for maximum enjoyment by everyone.
I've never heard of this game type before. But it sounds interesting. I'ma have to try it out. Plus, the losing person gets to be a Zombie, how cool is that?
