I was playing a rather long multiplayer game yesterday with a standard mono-white control. I was sitting back with the ability to stall the game as long as I wanted until I basically won, but started getting bored.
Then I remembered that if there is an infinite loop which is unstoppable, the game ends in a draw. I drew my third Oblivion Ring into my hand, and that was that. I declared a draw.
I played Oblivion Ring 1 targeting an unimportant creature on the field. Oblivion Ring 2 then targeted Oblivion Ring 1, removing it from the game. Oblivion Ring 3 removed 2, which brought 1 back, which then I chose to remove 3. From there you can see the loop.
However, this is not an unstoppable infinite loop. At any point I could have chosen another target for my O-Rings, but decided not to. Was I justified in calling it a draw under the rules?
Well, I like the theme. I don't play much casual anymore, but I did for many years, and this looks like it would be fun in a casual environment. I second your need for more lands, about 22 in total should be fine.
You have Slave of Bolas in your deck but only blue mana - you can't play it without a black! Either take that card out (my suggestion) or add some more black to your deck and black-producting lands.
Also, if you can get your hands on them, Counterspell and Remand would be good for you. Counterspell should be easy to find - it was a common for a decade, whereas Remand might cost you a couple bucks.
If you are willing to spend the money, Brain Freeze would be a good addition with all the countering you're thinking of doing. If your opponent casts 2 spells in his/her turn and you counter 1 then Brain Freeze, you'll mill a cool 12 cards for 2 mana. In multiplayer it gets even more intense. Again, with this card, it'll be harder to get your hands on perhaps, so just keep it in mind.
Other than that, just have fun with it. As long as your playgroup doesn't hate you for playing controll, run with it.
I've had great luck with blue, especially blue green in M10. Card drawing + ground and air weenies + Sleep. Blue brings in removal with that Ice enchant creature thing, and the 3/4 for 1UU flyers are underrated - use both and the opponent has to choose where to waste their effects. Green brings fat which will get through generally, mana fixing, and of course overrun.
Mind Controll is very useful in limited. It's like removal but better in any situation without a naturalize.
This deck's main purpose is to get out a multicoloured creature and keep a shield of the oversoul on it. The deck was created preM10 when wrath was around, making yours the only creature on the board - sadly, it no longer is able to work that way, and I'm trying to keep the same idea but make it competitive again. Suggestions?
Cracked one of these puppies today and I was wondering what I should look for, monetary wise. Ebay is reading 40-65 today, but does it have a price it's worth right now for sure, and on top of that, does it have an estimated stable price in the future.
I think Tutorbug can actually work the way it's intended, just take out echo and make it happen at the beginning of your upkeep.
Tutorbug 1U
Creature-Insect
At the beginning of your upkeep you lose the game.
When Tutorbug comes into play, you may search your library for a card and put it into your hand. If you do, shuffle your library.
2/2
I see no flavourful reason why it's a 4/2. It's a bug (yes, there are big insects, but blue doesn't make fatties easily and bug makes one think of something lesser, smaller). In fact, if we nerf it a bit (a bug should be a 0/1, really) we can change the drawback.

This is a big drawback, but you haven't lost the game for sure. It also forces you to use the card you found right away, and prevents something like tutoring for Donate and then winning the game.
I'd say it's not a dual land, but I think it's a good idea in theory. The problem here is that it's strictly better than forest. It would have to come into play tapped or have some other drawback. That said, you could have the cycling costs be G.
Before you begin the game, you may reveal Lilith from your library. If you do, put an enchantment token into play called Mark of Lilith that has "BBBB, Pay 4 life, Sacrifice Mark of Lilith:Remove the top 4 cards of your library from the game, then reveal cards from the top of your library until you reveal a card named Children of Lilith. Put that card into play and remove the other cards from the game."
Even more wordy, but with cards that let you mulligan extra before the game has started, it isn't completely unfounded.
The folks who got their stuff swiped also themselves to blame, frankly. Don't lose your head just b/c you're there to have a good time and play the game you love.
Use. Your. Head.
I'd say having your bag between your legs under the table is pretty safe - it prevents anyone from stealing because they see an easy opportunity. These guys, however, were specifically looking to steal the whole weekend. I don't think you can be considered "to blame" when there is an intent on stealing. That's like saying a conservatively dressed woman walking on a sidewalk in the daytime is asking to be raped.
I can honestly say that post-RE-lawsuit I have bought significantly fewer cards and play almost not at all. Wizards can think what they want about it, but just because you have the legal right to do a thing doesn't mean its the best thing to do.

Not strictly better. It isn't basic.

Yes, thank you for agreeing! Gynocologists should be forced to offer the option of murdering Americans as a blood rite for the child!
