I could see running Mikaeus. Playing it turn 3 for x of 2 (or 3 if you got the opal)

Overseer pretty much got targeted immediately anyway, so if you get one activation off of Mikaeus it's great. I would not run it as a 4 of like overseer however.

Just went 4-0 in a daily running a version with a blue splash for preordains, and leaks in the side.

I'll post the list later, although it's fairly typical... I am only running 1 spellskite, and 2 mox... I may keep the mox where they are but I plan to get 2 more spellskites I think.

I played against 2 mirror matches, although both of them were just running the white version if I remember correctly. I also played against vampires and Splinter Twin.

My thoughts today have been mana leak in the side is amazing. It's so good against decks with wrath effects. It also was great against splinter twin. Game one they got the combo off on turn four. Game 2 they attempted to get the combo off 3 times. I always had an answer though, either in leaks, or in dispatches.

Against the other steel decks I was very happy to have blue. It's nice to be able to preordain and dig for either an answer, or a ts/overseer.

I still feel like I got lucky not to go up against any UW control. UW control is my worst matchup easily.

Idols are insane, you realize that, right? They dodge wipes and other times of removal. You should always leave them in. its a 2/2 flying for 2 that reacts to the pumps in your deck. Glint hawk does not and is "cute" at best.

You are right. I was being dumb. I don't mean to say I was acting dumb, I mean to say trying to incorporate quest into this deck is dumb. Quest works because it has ways of cheating equips on to creatures. If you try to add quest to this deck you can't really justify adding white creatures that auto equip.

Long story short, my suggestion was dumb. This is not a quest deck for a reason.

I do not like hero in the main. It makes a lot of sense in the board against control, but I do not even run it there.

I run 4 ornithopters, and typically the thopters are the first thing coming out when I sideboard...

sometimes the idols come out. Idols are nice, but I find them too slow most of the time. The only time I ever seem to win with idols is when the control matchup goes longer than I'd like it to. I may look into taking them out if I can find a faster option, but they are decent.

I could see dropping my idols and porcelain legionnaire to put in glint hawks, and put in quests.

i think that hex parasite are so much better than phyrexian revoker since u can take counters from ur own creatures dealing this last couple dmg.

So I quoted you to say they play a much different role... I was going to note how I bring in revokers against decks that shut me down with planeswalkers.... but I immediately realized how amazing hex parasites would be against planeswalkers... I'm going to have to pick some up.

also, this deck has brought my MTGO numbers from like 1520 to 1699. I started playing it on Friday.

Before this the last serious deck I had on there was makeshift mannequin.

Aesop Rock, Kimya Dawson, and DJ Big Wiz are the most recent. We sat up at the bar with Big Wiz for a good 20 minutes talking about turntables.

I've also met Dessa and Sims of Doomtree after a show. It was especially cool for a friend of mine because we went up to Dessa and she's like Oh I noticed you out in the crowd.

I was working at a gas station when Louie Anderson came in. That was probably close to 8 years ago.

I've also met some famous people playing poker. Not famous poker players, just people who go and play. It seems I meet different rappers often when I go and play poker.

this deck is so fast it's funny.

Daily in mtgo, I 2-0 a valakut before anyone else even gets done with game one.

Editted with more info on the tournament----

My decklist (I made the deck last night and didn't want to spend too much so it's unfinished but...)

pretty standard decklist as far as I can tell. I'm missing 2-3 spellskite, and 2 nexus. I don't know yet whether I want to put in a 3rd mox.

My sideboard was pretty ugly... Right before the tournament started I thought it'd be a good idea to throw in some choking fumes for the mirror, but I do not know if I would even want to bring them in to be honest.

    sideboard was

First match was against rdw, and he pretty much saved his burn for all my creatures and just kept hitting me with guides both games. The whole time I was wishing I had more spellskites.

    0-2

Game two is the one I mentioned about valakut.

Game 1 He dropped to of the mana walls real quick, but I had vault skirges hopping over them, and a 3rd turn tempered steel. He got a titan out with 2 valakuts, and would have gotten them going if he got to swing, but I had a dispatch to get rid of his titan and clear the way for exact damage.

Game 2 I won around turn 4. Just dropped my hand real quick and got a tempered steel out.

    2-2

    Match 3 was rdw

I flew through match 3 though. I just got two hands with a lot of creatures. The first game though he got a little mana screwed. He had lands just no red. Game two the kor firewalkers were all I needed. Got two out right away and they gained me so much life, and just went to town. I did see my spellskite in this game, and it is amazing. I need to pick up some more.

    4-2

    Match 4 was UB control
Game one I flew at him, he stabilized around 6, but we were both low on hands so I got lucky with my draws.

game 2 I made a big mistake and didn't retarget to my spellskite, but I think he would have won it anyway because he plays the card that kills all 3 mana creatures on my next turn after I had activated my glint hawk idol, and I had overextended.

Game 3 he mulls to 5 and doesn't see a second land until turn 4 even though he preordains twice. I get 2 skirges and a tempered steel out and he dies.

Nothing special, but I'm happy with the results. My deck is unfinished, and actually winning some packs in this will help me to get the rest of the pieces.

Dismember was my first thought too...

I would not suggest genesis wave. You need to ramp very high to hit most of the stuff you're looking for, and even still, it is not guaranteed you'll get what you need.

Lead the stampede works pretty much the same as Genesis wave anyway. You're paying 3 for the card, and hoping you hit what you need. Granted it doesn't put it into play, but with Genesis wave, if you pay 9 cmc, and miss, you're tapped down pretty far.

With lead the stampede, you got the 3 cmc, and if it hits, you can pay the additional 6, or whatever it is you need. If you miss, you still have mana open.

it's 22 damage with the best hand not 21 Grin

I've considered it for just that reason too, but I kinda have a feeling it won't work too well... I might run it at fnm this week though with 3 giant growths just to see what happens.

All the crazy manabases will be changed. That means a lot of the decks playing 4 colors and some playing 3 are questionable. Whatever is printed in M10 and Zendikar will change this.

On top of that, we don't know what will be printed. Surely new archtypes will come up, and some will be good against current decks. Everything changes a lot during every rotation. It's just something standard players have to deal with.

I used call to heel in my last draft deck to protect my creatures...I suppose it was a weird inclusion in a draft deck but it won me some games actually by clearing a path for the final pieces of damage usually.

I might also be dropping mimics (or just dropping to 3 mimics)

I'm definitely going to keep running cryptics somehow.. Or try to fit them in...

    My current build...

    For card choices...

Pridemage maindeck-I am only running 6 manadorks, having 10 2 drops pretty much assures I have something to do turn 2

    Escorts maindeck-metagame choice

2x birds (over 3 or 4)-birds are such dead cards late game. Sometimes I'd rather drop a mimic instead of a war monk on turn two. I really don't feel like I need 8 birds in the deck.

1x Behemoth sledge- kinda want to drop this... I wasn't that that much of a fan of warhammer in the previous builds... not the biggest fan of paying 6 to get this online. I understand it's benefits late game though which is why I have it in there still.

2x finest hour- kinda want one more... if I drop behemoth sledge, this comes in.

4x path- should this be path or bant charm? I do not know.

4x Negate- so many big threats aren't creatures anymore so I run 4 negates main.

his turn one Treefolk Harbinger, turn two Doran, turn three Harbinger end the game rather quickly.

    ummmm how?

whenever I read through tourney reports and they have something like this (something that did not happen) I always question the whole report...
