"Bolas had an eternity to contemplate defeat."
Man, that flavor text feels SO good to read.
The thing about killing Bolas is that it just wouldn't be enough retribution. He has 25,000 years of atrocities to answer for, dozens of enslaved/destroyed worlds, and deaths on his hands numbering at least into the billions. Cutting him down with a sword and just ending him in a moment of righteous justice would feel good for a minute, but then ring hollow.
Bolas has to feel his defeat. He has to know he is beaten, pathetic, and impotent forevermore. His infinite atrocities merit an infinite punishment. Now his victims can begin to have justice.

AUTUMNTWILIGHT posted a message on [War of the Spark] - New planeswalker named Teyo VeradaI mean it spoils that Chandra, Ajani and Tibalt survive and Chandra has some PTSD but you certainly don't get the impression reading the comic that Bolas achieved total victory and slaughtered most of their friends or that Ravnica is gone as a Plane. Now it seems some people died and Ravnica took some damage. But Chandra and Ajani act way to casual to make me think anyone is prepping another fight against Bolas. The comic is like 2 months olds and all that stuff is in the first issue.Posted in: The Rumor Mill -

Skios posted a message on RNA GuildkitsSome really nice choices for face cards. Not a fan of the Teysa art though. I love her outfit, but her pose and facial expression just scream 'generic spellcaster looking determined.' The original art, whether you like the Orzhov boob window or not, at least communicated that she was primarily a schemer, and that her power lay in her words, not her magic.Posted in: The Rumor Mill -

Yep. The way I see it, Bolas promises Domri similar things to what he promised Vraska. They are both anarchists, at the end of the day, and Ravnica is a Balkan setting, right?
The inspiration for Ravnica is medieval Prague, and as someone who lives there, I feel the need to inform you that it's definitely NOT Balkan. Prague is central Europe, Ravnica is generally inspired by central to eastern Europe.
I assume he confused Croatia and Czech Republic? What can I say geography is not the American Strong Suit. -

It is now fully oriented towards Scryfall.com for promos, data in foreign languages and pricing. I still need to intensively test the new version before releasing it, to make sure it works smoothly again. I should be able to provide the release this weekend or next week.
Thanks for your support
Thank you so much! Was just coming to report on the wacky errors, but you are already all over it (I was wondering what impact the closing of magiccards.info would do to GEx).
Anxiously awaiting the next release.

OrzhovPlaneswalker posted a message on Autumn in Guilds of Ravnica?Posted in: Magic StorylineQuote from Caranthir »Quote from Mullerornis »Its a seasonal block, Autumn being Bolas arrival, Winter the apex of his power and Spring his death.
Pretty ironic too, since he thinks of himself as the sun.
Yeah, but have they said anywhere that Allegiance is winter? Because the spoiled Allegiance images for (shock?)lands does not seem winter-y at all (Stomping Ground and Hallowed Fountain, the rest are indoors).
My thoughts as well. We are jumping the gun. Nobody has said the next set is winter themed -

...And based on the others, it's a polymorphed Lazav.Quote from Caranthir »It is an art from the Dimir prerelease kit.
They are all sporting unique arts, and the same are on boosters.
Similar thing happened with Dominaria, where the booster art of Teferi was actually from neither of his cards, but from the packaging of the PW deck.
Here, all of them are non-card arts.

Nobody cares anymore. Just wanting to see cool cards.

Well, to be honest, I was gradually losing general interest in the story ever since they cancelled the e-books and started the 5-chapters-of-a-rushed story model. Eldraine e-book was nice reading. For Theros Beyond Death, we were so disappointed with the lack of an official story that we wrote our own (in seven chapters). Let's face it, nobody cares anymore. I am kinda glad they thrown us a bucket of bones by finally bringing SO MANY old characters in Commander Legends, Modern Horizons, Dominaria United boxtoppers, and the whole Brothers' War set. But well, it is like they are demolishing your chíldhood house and you are given a huge sack of sweets. Makes you happy for a while, but something is lost forever.
I seriously consider fully retiring from Magic after MoM: Aftermath altogether. It was great 27 years, but I had scarcely any time even for prereleases, and my "pet" part of Magic, story and flavor, is being dissolved into generic soup before my eyes. Even writing articles about it brings me little joy recently...

In Tezz's story, there is said that many of the planes already succumbed to the invasion, including some named ones from the prerevisionist era (Mirrankkar, Ilcae, Cabralin).
In Teferi's story, the mightiest chronomancer in the Multiverse we know of just became really pissed, speaking the words "it is not too late".
March of Machines: Days of Future Past. I call it now.

Ashnod, Mishra's second in command, falls in love with Tawnos, Urza's assistant, when he is captured. She is dismayed with Mishra apparently falling under the sway of the Gixians. She helps him to escape and later, after she captured and tortured Loran who escaped from Terisia with the sylex, she hands over the sylex to Tawnos and tells him what Urza should do with it (the info what she got from Loran, who translated the glyphs).
It all comes to the final showdown on Argoth:

Well, with one set half mechs and cyberpunk, another set inspired by 1920's, and two sets on Dominaria with high Thran influence, what the $% did you expect, Jenrik?
Not to mention that you probably slept through the whole color-blossoming New Capenna...

with all the old-time references being thrown to us by armfuls, do anyone else has the feeling that Wizards want to kind of satisfy every last Vorthos who liked to see the old stories again, reimagined in modern coat?
Yes, there are still some leftovers, but with the Weatherlight crew almost redone, with Legends II in the boxtoppers, and now with Brothers' War, with Urza Friggin' Planeswalker in his full power in a flavor perfect solution (Not to mention Mishra), even with the Thran era adressed with Rebbec, Glacian and Yawgmoth, there is not much. It is a nice gift for the 30th anniversary, but at the same time, I have a feeling of something like a big reboot coming with the "Infinity War/Endgame" climax of the Phyrexia arc... a definite farewell to the old history and its restrictions that the silly old geezers comment on.
Is it just me?

probably the rare cards for the bros - Urza as Prince of Kroog, Mishra as Tamer of Mak Fawa.
Bitter Reunion as the moment they met again as second-in-commands of the Warlord of Yotia and the Qadir of the Fallaji.
Hostile Negotiation as the moment when Yotia carpet-bombed the Fallaji during the negotiations (Yotia Declares War)
And a key art of some kind.
