There was a banlist change? Is there a list of what changed somewhere? I see Rofellos/Erayo/Braids were banned, was anything unbanned?
EDIT: Ah, found it on the MTGcommander forums. I imagine the 'stink' is because of Rofellos being banned, huh.. though there's mention of multiple planeswalker commanders being spoiled, I only know Teferi.. Just how much did I miss yesterday at work, lol.
Dragonshields are the flat color ones, right? I meant actual images on them, preferably. Using UltraPro's mana symbol sleeves for five of my decks, looking for something different for Prossh.
Had a lot of time on my hands, decided to go through all my various cards, set aside a box of tradeables, and more importantly made the Prossh deck that I've been meaning to make. Took it to my FLGS's EDH night and had a ton of fun- almost went undefeated, though I don't really feel it overpowered the meta, just luck of the draw. Went a more token-based approach with the cards I had on hand (need me another doubling season!) and picked up a few fun cards: Tinder Wall, Dragon Appeasement, Death Match, and Showstopper. Not going for cutthroat Prossh, but definately more combo that I typically run.
Need to find some good sleeves for him though, now that I've got him made. Anyone know of good dragon-themed, quality sleeves?
We are starting a new pathfinder campaign at lvl 10 and I decided to make a Hunter (one of the new classes thats a cross between druid and ranger). Its pet and teamwork focused and I ended up picking a giant mantis soooooo.... somehow I became a mantis rider lol.
It looks like a lot of fun though to be honest. The class gets a lot of free teamwork feats and all teamwork feats transfer to the pet as well which is really cool.
I definately like the look of the Hunter too- I'm planning to make one for my next PFS character, though the specifics aren't certain yet. It'll most likely be either a constrictor snake or giant scorpion companion, but there's something from every race pretty much that I'd want. Half-orc with a double axe and using nets to trip everything, riding a giant scorpion? Vishkanya milking poison from her scorpion for each of her hundred daggers? Elves doing...elf-y things?
The biggest problem with the vermin companions though is the lack of Int to start.. you don't have any feats or skills until 3rd/4th level. Well, unless you're human and take that racial.
This wins points for awesome. Even got a friend who'd paint it and mod in a double axe if I chose to go that route.. mmmm...
Decided that I'd try a few new decks on MTGO, see if they were fun enough to me to translate into paper now that I'm playing more now. First up on the list is Marchesa, and from the six-seven games I've played so far, the answer is a resounding yes.
Just had an epic game lasting nearly two hours, between myself, Karn, Selvalla enchantress, and a Xenagos. The boardstates kept leaping around, with me getting a field of post-wipe recurring cards, Karn getting the full Throne/Scepter/Crown set and a Coat of Arms powered Myr Battlesphere, and then Selvalla being invincible with Solitary Confinement, Greater Auramancy, Sterling Grove, and a host of other big enchantments. My turn, I drop a phantasmal image copying battlesphere, doing lethal to both Karn and Xenagos via Warstorm Surge. Passed turn to Selvalla, who drops aura shards and starts pumping out pegasus tokens. He hit several of my things, but not surge, and dropped It That Betrays (which would take everything with his martyr's bond). My topdeck? Aura Thief, killing itself with Warstorm.
It's ridiculous and epic games like this that make me love EDH so much!
Those Pro Tower boxes are good then? I've been looking for something to fit my Planechase cards in and saw one at my FLGS, but I didn't end up picking one up yet.
So, I just headed over to one of my local stores and picked up a few foils for my karador deck...and completely forgot the crib swap. Argh. ANYWAY... Was flipping through some of the dollar rare box stuff just to pass the time and I came across Simulacrum. Not the strongest card in the world, but it seems very fun(ny) which is reason enough for me. Totally going to put it into my Toshi deck when I make him. Anyone else had recent experiences finding a fun old card that they had no idea existed, yet loved?
Yeah, my deck's focus is more on creature's +1/+1s, but I have both in the deck. Only got Vigor though.
Despite the Teysa deck next to me shutting down the board, I considered it a victory. That processor could be a fun card too.. I might have to look into that as another option. With the proliferates and Vorel, I can make a few life into many life.
Skeleton Ship wins you points for uncommon commanders though. Also, it goes nicely with Horobi, Death's Wail or the blue enchantments that make them sac/bounce when targetted. That's actually a deck theme I've been considering, but one thing at a time. Probably gonna be translating my Jaya deck into paper when I can- well, except for Gauntlet of Might.. I need a BIT more cash for that.
And yep! Riptide Replicator with Primal Vigor down. I doubled Gyre Sage four times with Vorel, dropped the Replicator.. and the guy next to me just starts laughing uncontrollably.
Moved into town Wednesday, I'll be 5-10 minutes away from two game stores that have EDH nights. I can't wait to get back into playing and laughing about the situations that come up.
Like the 27/27 red squirrel tokens I was making two of each round on Wednesday. Those are fun.
So, I'm playing MTGO again, and I've been having an itch to try an enchantress deck as that's something I haven't done before. Probably bant colors with what's his name, Angus Mackenzie, at the general. Any good enchantment decks around I should take a look at for ideas? I know Theros block is pretty enchantment heavy, though I haven't played too much of it yet. Probably got some gems in there I don't know of.
Played a release event for Theros online today, first one in quite a long time. Was fairly enjoyable- got 2-2 in a 4 round sealed swiss, so I ended up with two more packs. Sadly, the total value of my six rares was...wait for it..$1.50. Only card above a dime was Spear Of Heliod. Saw one guy with Eberos, Thalea, and the U/B planeswalker in his pool, so he definately got his money's worth, lol.
I actually quite like the mechanics in the set! The enchantments/auras, interaction with devotion, Bestow'd cards becoming creatures once their target dies.. it made for a pretty enjoyable limited experience. The flavor of Theros is pretty great, too.
Probably wait another week or so for prices to drop before finding out what all I want to buy. Considering making a cycle of decks for each of the gods, since I like mono color so much.
Have we heard a release date on the Commander stuff yet btw?
