I did my best to explain the question as to why it helps security.
Let me try again.
Person A has 47 different accounts on various websites. If any of those 47 sites is breached, his personal information is now had by hackers. More than likely, that person didn't use 47 different passwords, so they probably have access to a multitude of other sites. Even if not, that person is relying on all of those websites not being hacked.
Person B has an account on Facebook. He then uses his Facebook account to sign in on 47 different websites. If any of those 47 websites gets breached.. the hackers get grand total of his facebook name, and nothing else.
This is the general overview for single sign on.
MTGS/Curse are owned by Twitch. Currently, everyone has a Curse account which spans all of curse's sites and infrastructure. There is, of course, overlap between the Curse and Twitch infrastructure as the merger matures. Trying to keep curse accounts separate from twitch accounts across a multitude of sites and servers, with different systems and protocols, is the antithesis of good security measures.

Sep 11, 2017Feyd_Ruin posted a message on Changes to MTGSalvation User AccountsSingle Sign On, when implemented correctly (as it will be here), is more secure for a couple of reasons.Posted in: Articles
Having a central authorization for all accounts means you have one single system that you have to keep secure. Rather than trying to roll out updates across a multitude of sites and systems, you have one and only one that you can roll updates out to. Pretty much every server system and software has security updates on a regular basis. Being able to roll out these updates quickly is paramount to keeping user data secure. Central auth also gives you a dedicated server that is there only for the authorization. The more software you add to a system, the more potential security vulnerabilities you add. By dedicating the server, and keeping it separate, someone hacking any part of MTGSalvation, for instance, could no longer obtain any of your personal information. They'd have to hack the auth server specifically, which is garunteed to have less potential for being at all vulnerable.
As anyone who's seen the news lately - personal identifying information is a strong target for hackers and thieves. They can often use this information to access other sites, steal identities, etc.
Also, many people do frequent Twitch, or other gaming sites that are under the twitch/curse umbrella. Having separate sign ins for each site practically ensures the average user will be reusing passwords and credentials. This puts them in the habit of doing so, which is horrendous for security. If you limit the number of times they have to have a login, you increase the chances that they are using unique credentials. -

Ironically, I usually assume a feminine pronoun when it's ambiguous, but here I just got mixed up.

Jul 26, 2017Feyd_Ruin posted a message on Treasure Cruisin' with Mayael the AnimaI agree Spearbreaker is a strong card, and can easily be added to the titan package. I overlooked mentioning him as a go-to card when you extend the budget, though. Should definitely have touched on him. There were a lot of cards I wanted to mention, but didn't want to drag that section out.Posted in: Articles
I wouldn't swap out Shaman of Forgotten Ways though. He's good accel, and can end the game with his second ability. The latter part is what separates him from other mana critters. If you get things into position, you can easily swing at everyone, then use his ability to make each of those swings game enders.

Jul 26, 2017Feyd_Ruin posted a message on Treasure Cruisin' with Mayael the AnimaHe was just outside of budget range, but is definitely a titan worth using once you start crossing that line. I've even gone back and forth about using him in my non-budget build.Posted in: Articles

Jul 26, 2017Feyd_Ruin posted a message on Treasure Cruisin' with Mayael the AnimaIf you want to add more fetching, absolutely! I like Tusker more for the card draw he brings, and Monitor because it puts it in play as actual ramp. Eternal Dragon is a good 3rd, but was bumped out by Monitor. Tastes may vary, of course.Posted in: Articles
Valley Rannet could be a fourth, but he's far less useful than Eternal Dragon when you don't need to cycle, so I would definitely put him as a distant fourth. -
Jul 26, 2017Feyd_Ruin posted a message on Treasure Cruisin' with Mayael the AnimaI agree, both cards are definitely strong. They're both slightly outside of the budget constraints though. There were quite a few $3-$4 cards I wanted, but I didn't want to break budget anymore than I felt I had to. The four I did go slightly out of budget can easily be purchased for around the $2 mark if you're ok with SP, and I felt they were a necessity.Posted in: Articles
By the end, I felt the article was starting to get a little long, so I didn't want to add much more to the expanded budget section. Believe me, I could write an article on that alone, heh. -

Jun 21, 2017Feyd_Ruin posted a message on Treasure Cruisin' with Monogreen StompySomething I learned many years ago: Green Stompy always has a chance. I've seen versions in almost every format, and while it may change shape and form, it always has a chance. Sometimes it's a marquee deck, sometimes it's rogue. But whatever is sitting across the table from it has a short clock and can't handle bad draws.Posted in: Articles
I have a modern super budget version (under $40) that I love.
(I also have legacy and pauper versions to boot >_<)
I love Blossoming Defense and Vines main deck. Everybody packs removal, and saving your creature while increasing damage puts a lot of pressure. -
May 27, 2017Feyd_Ruin posted a message on The Magic Market Index for May 26, 2017Our prices are pulled from TCGPlayer.Posted in: Articles
Each price is, specifically, the median listed sell price on TCGPlayer (for NM non-foil). TCGPlayer has hundreds of sellers through there sites, so this is generally a strong indicator of the average price you'll see online through businesses, large sellers, etc. This is the Median price.
Now, the Market Price is "how much has this card actually been selling for recently". Market price is almost always lower than the Median price, since people almost always buy the cheapest listings.
Additionally, ebay is usually cheaper than most online shops and businesses, since you're going person-to-person who's motivated to sell quickly, and without the assurances/etc of an online shop. Even online shops like Troll and Toad will unload extras and slow movers on ebay cheaper than they list on their site (personally bought from them like this). Ebay is on the cheap.
There is give and take between Median and Market. Market is much better at determining what you will actually get from selling now. Median is better at determining the average that you'd pay through a shop, and is much better at predicting changes.
For instance, if there's a sell out on CardX, then the market price will show what that sell out went for. It has no care for current price and availability, only what happened recently. The Median price will show what it's looking like now, and a better idea of what it will be when the items get restocked.
All values here represent the realistic best case scenario, giving no discounts. Set Value is a good example. Set value is the total value of every card in the set, assuming the average price. One would never be able to sell for that full amount, and would hopefully never pay that. BUT, if you were to give the exact average selling price for each and every card in the set, that's what you'd end up with. (Reality is usually half that or less)
Only the Estimated Value gives concessions, by ignoring all card values that aren't worth at least $0.50. This gives a more accurate estimated value, but is still assuming you get full value out of everything over $0.50.
In reality, if you're an individual selling your cards in small doses, you will be taking a 20%+ hit. You have a lot of competition, and if you don't want your card to sit in a listing for months like businesses can, you need to undercut. If you're a shop, your sales are across larger volumes, allowing cards to sit for longer periods at better-for-you prices, and making up ground by actually selling the lower priced cards. -

I can't even send a PM to a mod to report this as when I click on "Send a private message" in a user's profile, guess what? It opens this article.
Pretty weird...
If you're on a PC, CTRL+F5 to redownload anything.
Iphone: Settings > Safari > Clear History and Website Data
Android: Ξ button in your browser > Settings > Privacy > Clear Browsing Data
This will hopefully fix it.

If there's a specific thread, request it Here. Hopefully we can have someone takeover the missing primer, etc.
Everyone here should have been PM'd.
If I somehow missed you, please repost or PM me.
As far as I'm aware, nothing is "can't see the page"-broken.
Copy & paste the URL where you're seeing this here, so I can investigate, please sir/ma'am.
Tomorrow, 1/29/2019, we will be performing server changes and upgrades.
During this time, the site will be "read only", meaning the site will be accessable but you won't be able to make new posts, PMs, etc.
The downtime should start about 24 hours from this post (~11AM Central).
We expect the maintenance to last a few hours, but will be done as quickly as possible.
Sure, Liliana has a "seductress" quality to her, and doesn't wear armor. Showing a little skin and going out of her way to be attractive fits her motif. If it fits and is realistic, I'm fine with it.
That said, no right minded warrior is going to charge into battle wearing a metal bikini. That's absurd, ridiculous, and absolutely destroys the immersion.
That will let me steal one of his posts to make it the new OP.
Otherwise, we'll have to make a new thread.
If you get it done, please shoot me a PM and I'll make it happen.
But just in case, I'll PM you the contents so we can delete it and recreate it to make sure it's there.
The spam filter shouldn't bother you at this point.
We can see that there's a deleted post, but this is hidden from normal users.
(Turning it on would let users also see deleted posts, so we can't really do that.)
If you stumble across an odd thread with someone talking to himself, they're not as crazy as they seem..
(Also posting so I don't lose my spot like I did yesterday. Don't want to miss anyone)
The spam filter can get overaggressive sometimes, especially with long posts.
You have enough posts now that it shouldn't bother you any more, though.
Sorry >_<
Just open it and close it right inside the [Quote] tag.
There's a couple open-ended style tags.
[Space] is the easiest that won't add any extra markup.
[space=5px; font-style:normal;]
[quote from="ISBPathfinder »" url="/forums/community-forums/community-discussion/576824-the-mtg-salvation-tag-explanation-thread?comment=62"][space=5px; font-style:normal;]Sooooooooo essentially we need the full quote tag - italics being applied broadly to the contents. Hummmmmmmm let me run down Feyd. [/space][/quote]
This will also let the quoted poster set the italics on and off inside his post.
Also, MafiaScribe can, and should, be fully restored at some point.
(He shouldn't technically have counted, but was flagged for EU)
Unfortunately, I have to resurrect each and every post by hand.
So.... please be patient with me.
In the end, the owners had to comply with EU law.
Regardless, this is not a Pauper/Peasant thread, and is not the place for such a discussion.
Locked.
Rasputin101 has come back, and I've been able to restore the thread.
One of the titan amulet threads was restored.
"Azourius Titan/Emeria Control" and "Colorless Eldrazi/tron" are both missing atm, the users have not returned, etc.
Waiting to see if these users return shortly.
ketoglutarato came back, and his Spirits primer has been restored.
Your Grixis Death Shadow Primer has been resurrected!
As above, DaveJacinto is back, and so too is his primer.
Because Dave rocks.
This amulet titan primer is back up.
"Azourius Titan/Emeria Control" and "Colorless Eldrazi/tron" are both missing atm, the users have not returned, etc.
I'm still awaiting some word and hope these users comes back before handing off primers to others.
Unfortunately, this was specific to the user, and his own creation.
We'll have to hope he comes back.
I've resurrected the thread itself, but the deleted user content will remain deleted unless that user comes back.
Both Primers are now back up.
Hoping that user comes back for now.
Yes
Sorry.
If the user doesn't come back, we'll look into handing it off to someone else.
If they start fresh, the old thread will remain dead.
If it's possible to transfer the thread (this is a complicated manner), we'll restore the thread sans any deleted posts.
If the user has come back, yes.
Have them message me requesting such.
If the user has not come back, they will remain gone.
There's literally nothing we can do. It's the law.
It looks like none of the mafia threads from the past two years have disappeared.
"ZeDorkSlipeur's Normal" is gone until the owner comes back. That's the most recent one I see.
If I missed anyone, please let me know.
Juggling a bit here, but I think I'm up to date.
Just waiting & hoping on a couple of the primer writers to hopefully return.
There was some back and forth, but for you returning users, I will be able to restore some threads and posts. There's no automated process for this, I have to do every post by hand, so we're only looking at restoring the major threads or important posts. We'll revisit the issue later for other things. If there are any specific threads that you want me to restore, please reply to the PM or post here.
