@destroyermaker
I really do appreciate you making a Primer for the deck, but I feel it could use a lot of work, adding a section for cards that are less played but still used, such as Murderous Cut, Tombstalker, Ratchet Bomb, Night of soul's Betrayal ect. ect. i could go on and on. The point I feel is so that people dont stumble in here going, oh but what about card x or card y. or why not play fetches. Mostly a pro's and con's of cards that are not normally played. And again i do appreciate the Primer
MEMORYLAPSE, youre a fool if you are going to disregard bob as a win con, and just "replace" him with BB or WN. Bob ALWAYS gets another card, WN sometimes gets another card and BB never gets another card. the fact that you are ignoring Bob to begin with stuns me.
I think the issue at hand is really Bitterblossom Vs Waste not Vs Dark Confidant. They are all really good and they all have their ups and downs, i guess at this point its really all personal preference on that slot. I've been creeping for months and I've seem pretty valid arguments for both of them.
Waste Not - Insane "combo" factor to it but it can loose some of its luster when your opponent runs out of a hand.
Bitterblossom - Provides insane amount of blockers/attackers that can get under bridge, but you are slowly draining yourself
Dark Confidant - Provides extra cards, can always get under bridge because of himself, but can sometimes be hard for you to kill him, and he slowly drains your life.
So, played 4 rounds probably like 20 people. played against, UW Tron, Mono Green Devotion, Affinity, and Goblins. I won against tron and mono green off the back of lilly and small pox, that card is good. And i lost to affinity swining under bridge w/ plating and ravager, and the most humiliating defeat against goblins, i had a bridge on 0, he had 30+ krenko tokens i wasnt worried at all, and then he played it...... sensation gorger(i think its appropriate to call him frog swallower). i had no idea what to do game one. i didn't have an answer. and game two he did the same thing but i just didnt have an answer in my 0 card hand or in my draw. that was a miserable match up and nothing i could do.
Im going to be playing MTGFinches build tonight at a modern tourney to see how well i like it. i just dont have the damnation's or mutavaults in the SB because i dont own any and its not like theyre cheap and easy to find. Everything else is spot on.
Can we talk about SB is the current meta? i have two Night of souls Betrayal in my SB and i have never regretted them. the rest of my SB is pretty shaky, but that card im convinced deserves a spot in the SB.
has anyone put some serious thought lately into a red splash, it gives us two cards that immediately come to mind, rakdos augermage and rix maadi dungeon palace. the augermage can be an excellent blocker and discard outlet, and rix maadi can relieve the pressure of not having a lilly, kinda. and then we can have terminate and lightning bolt if needed.
INFERNAL TUTOR makes it so you can slim down on some numbers of a lot of things. Its essentially a demonic tutor in this deck. for the love of god, quit ignoring it.
I think everyone is avoiding the much shunned blackmail, that card is gonna be pretty solid in conjunction with waste not. i know im going to be playing some number of that card in my MB. because after a waste not its just pure unadulterated value.
Maindecking removal in this deck seems silly to me. I play a grand total of 3 removal in my 75, because we have ensnaring bridge. Not a whole lot of decks have an answer to that game one. outside of the maybe the one of pridemage in some decks. twin is the only deck that is problematic due to them having 4 cryptics to bounce a bridge then combo-kill. Id like to see some lists people are playing and the different numbers everyone is playing. I run some cards others think are bad and others run cards i think are bad.
im definitely running 17 swamp 2 dakmor salvage and 4 tectonic edge. I know its now what people like to run but i have had no problems and nothing but good from the tec edges. i do want to get a few urborg, it would smooth out the draws a little bit but i have no problems with consistency
