Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon (currently 1-day into pre-Alpha testing ;)):
The font rendering took some tweaks. I'm basically using Mac OSX's fonts, with some modifications, and I enabled some of the neater subpixel rendering and auto-hinting that can't be enabled by default.
From my new installation of Ubuntu Linux 7.04: here.
This was the easiest installation of any operating system I've ever had experience with. Everything worked out of the box; it automatically detected my Windows partition, Adobe Flash installed in about thirty seconds (whereas before it took minutes, hours, days), Compiz worked almost immediately with minimal problems...
For those of you thinking about switching to Linux, now is the best time in years. It will only get better in the fall with the release of KDE 4.
Edit: one thing has been bugging me, though - does anyone know how to move the trash onto the desktop?
Just upgraded today to Kubuntu Feisty Fawn, everything looks fine, except that when Beryl loads the title bars for all windows dissapear, and I can't find how to make them appear again :/, I have it in a laptop with a Intel integrated video card if that helps
It could be a number of things.
With Beryl merging with Compiz, and with Feisty shipping Compiz by default (but not enabled automatically), I'd suggest moving to Compiz though. You can enable it via Desktop Effects in Preferences.
EDIT: Also I still want to try the Firefox 3 alpha (Gran paradiso), I downloaded the alpha 2 and uncompressed into my home folder, everything seems fine, but when I run it as /home/dark/firefox/firefox it keeps launching FF2 :/
FF2 must be closed entirely and the firefox-bin process must not be running, else it'll just open a new window with FF2.
If you want to test out FF3, I'd recommend simply adding the following repository and installing `firefox-trunk` and `firefox-trunk-dev` (which will install alongside your existing FF2 installation):
If I've got time, I'll do the French later.

Run this command:
Awesome possum!
Make it look like this:
Copy and paste the file in this thread please.
Open the terminal:
Look for "feisty-edgy" and replace it with "feisty". Save and close.
Then have fun with your upgrade.
Yeah, just change sources.list so they only say "feisty" and you should be set.

But of course, I don't play MTG anymore, so my opinion means like squat when it comes to the Mill.
Nope - USB CD/DVD-RW drives. USB ones are fairly cheap as far as things go.
