You are probably better dropping Trickbind for something else, it isn't nearly as useful as Stifle. Perhaps you can fit Hurkyl's Recall in there for some anti-Stax stuff.

i would but i figure there will be some sort of storm combo and id prefer to have something against them even though i know its not as good as stifle and it may not make a difference if i cant get it before they go off id like to at lest have something for it. i did think about dropping propagandas since im running main deck jittes

Why Trickbind over Stifle? A main purpose is killing fetches early on, and you can't wait two turns for that. Is Stifle MD?

I split GY hate between Ravenous Trap and Crypt because you know they pack Pithing Needle.

Since my friend runs Staxxx, I use Hurkyl's Recall. Should work against Ravager, too.

because as i said before i dont have stifle

Planning on going to a (hopefully) big tournament next saturday but im unsure what to run sb because i dont know whats all going to be run other than at liest one mirror and maybe one trini-stax deck (if a friend chooses to play it)
this is what i have so far what do you all think i could do to improve it? just a few notes first though stifle is out of the question because i dont have any.

Loads and loads of questions, quoting the post and inserting answers is probably the best way of helping me.
    Thanks

If budget is not an issue, do people still prefer duress over thoughtseize?

4 Duress + 4 Hymn + X Thoughtseize would be overkill, right? (Oh yeah and plus funeral charms)

Do people think chimeric idol > phyrexian totem in all decks?

In the monoB no-crucible no-mox version, would a splash of 1 syphon life be a good idea?

how many lands in the no-crucible no-mox monoB version? and most people seem to like zero dark rituals as well.

In the no-crucible no-mox monoB version, how many threats would you run? And it would be a balance of nether spirit, tombstalker, chimeric idol, the rack, and cursed scroll, I assume. What is your preference?

    Thanks for answering my questions

1)thoughtseize gets my vote because it can get creatures and thats never a bad thing.

    2) ya a little much personally i wouldn't run both duress and thoughtseize as 4 of maybe 3-4 thoughtseize and 1-2 duress

    3) I think that comes down to preference but out of the two. phyrexian totem if you want to run Mishra's facotry's.

    4) without crucible i wouldnt run syphon life because you have no way or makeing full use of retrace

    5) Dark ritual can be good just not the random late game top deck it gets really annoying. But no matter what i've always found 21-22 lands to be good for me.

    6) when i wasnt running crucibles i ran 3-4 scroll 3-4 Nether Spirit and 3 tombstalker. but thats mainly because no matter what it is i dont usually run less than 3 of anything and some people disagree with that little tick of mine. but really you should just try different combinations out till you find what you feel best playing with.

Powder Keg maindeck rocks against aggro and some control decks. 2-of is safe.

well right now since mox diamond is out of my price range and since i dont know anyone i could borrow them off of i think i will go with powder keg over smother. i really like smother but its better in sb cus i only have it to deal with pesky goyfs

Anyone thought about using the cabal therapy/bloodghast combo from the next level dredge deck? This seems like it could really be good in crucible pox?after playing next level dredge for a few games today it felt really powerful.

i still dont like bloodghast in the deck enough to play him.

but i'm starting to agree with turning away from dark rituals for something else i just havent been able to decide what for yet. since my funeral charms and innocent bloods have went missing in action along with my scroll racks and a few other things. i'm currently leaning twards powder keg or smother till i find my other cards. which do you all think?

But look at all the cards you loose access too with Chalice @1...Ravens Chime, Thoughtseize, Duress, Funeral Charm, Dark Ritual and Innocent Blood. I personally dont think locking out 8+ cards in your deck is worth it. You'll have plenty of dead draws that way.

I've been play testeing this on MWS for a few days now and I really like this build. Anyone see any improvements that could be made? I dont yet have the sinkholes and crucibles but i got a buddy that has em and doesnt play anymore so i can rogue his till i get some of my own or a job.

    B) I was also considering a modern ProsBloom with supplementary tricks to push the win forward, such as Niv-Mizzet (burn from Prosperity draws), Storm Seeker (burn from the opponent's Prosperity draws) and Platinum Angel to mimic the 5E "I don't lose right now" effect and provide a buffer against life loss; also, Psychatog because hey, Psychatog. Grin Are any of these ideas worthwile, or are they all junk that will slow down the deck?

    Thanks!

im not entirely sure what decklist i used to play with but it ran 1 Drain Life and 1 Storm Seeker as kill conditions. so i dont think running 2 kill conditions would hurt but i probably wouldnt go anymore than that. i think though this combo would have a problem with the meta today. not to mention it wasnt all that stable when i was playing it either and that was quite some time ago. i really like older combos like this, donate/illusions and pebbles but with some of the newer cards and decks i dont see any of them ever being really competative again.

What are peoples opinions on mind harness vs threads of disloyalty? I really don't like that threads costs 3 mana and can only target 2 or less. Mind harness does have the upkeep, but it takes 3 turns to cost as much as threads plus it can target all of zoo. Is threads/harness really around for more than 3 turns most of the time anyway? Another major complaint with threads is, turn 3 I have 3 mana and play threads but it gets countered or disenchant etc I have wasted a whole turn. So much tempo lost. I would never play mind harness in the early turns anyways so I usually have the mana late game.

i completely agree mind harness gives you the best options. has anyone thought of trying Legacy's Allure i know its no where near as fast but i think it could be worth trying at liest

Having a very hard time against Affinity. Ornithopter + Plating is almost always going the distance even if you throttle them early.

    with or without powder kegs?

my current list. Thinking about dropping funeral rod for diabolic edict, but I am unsure atm.

personally i like the idea of dropping innocent blood for edict because funeral charm can be used for its other abilities

Why to wasteland their fetches? Isn't it just stupid?

i think it was meant as stifleing the fetches or wastlanding what they get then again there are some ppl stupid enough to not pop a fetchland if you target it with a wasteland

I was very disappointed with Zen as far as useful stuff for pox. Wile I like the idea behind Bloodchief ascension and quest for the gravelord (if you play in a creature heavy meta). I just think that i wouldnt play with ascension unless i had room for (and owned) cursed scrolls and syphon lifes in my build but that would be quite a few cards to make room for. but I just dont likeBloodghast if only he were able to block i'm sure i'd like him better. But none the less lets hope for some really good stuff in the rest of the block for us. maybe even some kind of plainswalker?

I'm not sure if this has already been asked...

has anyone tried Bloodghast as a threat? It seems pretty good.

it's been talked about a lot. some like it some dont. even though i dont like it in the deck it truly shines only if you run crucibles IMO.
