Someone asked MaRo about the neo-legacy format on Tumblr and he was entirely confused. It was an embarrassing example of the way the echo chamber works. People get themselves so worked up over hypothetical speculations that they become entirely convinced it's confirmed fact.
I'm going with the rumored no reserved list legacy format.
As much as I would like this, I don't see Wizard's endorsing a new format unless it gains popularity on its own.
Its most likely this year's FTV product.
Then why did they make Modern?
I'm also skeptical that the format would be very well received.
Because Modern was built primarily on the premise that it would be a non-rotating format where every card is reprintable. If they announced another format that is essentially created for the same premise, it would be admitting that modern is a failure and would put egg on their face. I just don't see that happening.
Hey everyone! I was brewing up a potential RGx Werewolves deck and knew I wanted to have Moonmist in the deck. What is Moonmist's interaction with the flip-walkers such as Chandra, Fire of Kaladesh? It might just be a cute interaction that doesn't go anywhere, but I'd like to know before I get too much further with the deck.
Ultimately I would end up playing whichever format was more popular and had more local tournaments I could go to. I only have so much time to play MtG, and I would have a hard time keeping up with two different metas.
Of the two I would prefer Eternal. It would suck having to build into another batch of staples (as I don't play legacy), but long-term I think you would see a healthier format that Wizards could print cards for that didn't have to go through standard.
Not sure if its too off-topic for this thread, but I always thought it was an odd restriction that Wizards placed on themselves that all cards for Modern HAD to be printed in standard sets. With the subjective starting point Wizards picked for Modern (Look guys, its a different frame!) I thought at some point they would add a supplemental set to get some older cards they wanted into the format that had a power level too high for standard.
Need some advice for the best way to re-seal a booster pack, its for a Christmas gag gift. My friend hates the infect mechanic, so I want to fill the booster with 15 poison counters, haven't decided if I'll included something nice at the end yet!
Any advice on the best way to re-seal it? Preferably without damaging the cards if I decide to include something nice!
Hopefully this is the right place - I've been brewing a bit with day's undoing and initial results look decent. Basically you take all-in monored goblins and add undoing and maybe vapor snag.
No board yet until I feel the main is reasonably firm. I might want more snags int he main - vapor snaggin a marshall/bushwhacker is not terrible. Snagging a marshall and replaying it on an instigator trigger would be pretty boss too.
I tried a list very similar to yours. Playtesting with friends Days Undoing was good, but it didn't have the impact I was hoping for.
I went to a Modern FNM this weekend, going 3-1. I had wins against Wb Tokens, Burn, and Tron, and I lost to Junk. The majority of the SB was just a pile, but I'm very happy with my mainboard:
I really like Bloom Moon main. Obviously its a meta call depending on what decks are popular. I went into my FNM knowing that there were good players there playing Tron, Amulet Bloom and Junk. I had multiple games on Friday where I was able to power out Blood Moon before turn 3 with Simian Spirit Guide. It felt very powerful.
Any thoughts on Days Undone from Origins? I've been playing around with a variant that splashes green for lead the stampede, Days Undone reloads your hand while disrupting the opponent. It's not goblin ringleader but it is similar.
To be fair the question MaRo answered wasn't very specific about which format.
