... Fight Club? I always thought that had a more masculine pseduo-philospohical appeal to it. Sure, there's lots of shirtless Brad Pitt and Ed Norton, but generally chicks don't watch boxing.

Most girls i know hate Fight Club....i loved it. :p

Nicolas Cage is one of the actors I like...dunno WHY, exactly, but I like his acting.

Gone in 60 Seconds? His best movie. By far.

The only two chick flicks i like are Closer and 10 Things I Hate About You.

It's been snowing like a mother for the last six or seven hours...and i have to move my car early in the morning so they can plow the lot. blah!

Sadly, they do force it...heck, they force a meal plan on your for your first 3 years (I am glad to be rid of those painfully-overpriced shackles).

everyone, EVERYONE on my college campus has a meal plan. Even if you are a staff, even if you are a commuter. [the staff and commuters have a different meal plan than those who are students that live on campus]

This way, no one can complain they "don't have money for food". Granted, things are terribly overpriced, there's a poor selection, etc. But it's FOOD. if you're hungry enough, you will eat no matter how much it sucked from your meal plan.

As far as the housing goes, suck it up and take it. It's ONE SEMESTER. You can deal. Due to me being poor, I am stuck in housing until I graduate, most likely. You know what? I've grown to like sharing a room with another person. Sometimes it gets a little out of hand, but for the most part the company is nice.

If you are more of a studious person, then perhaps you should have applied for academic intensive housing. Every campus I know of has either a dormitory for it, or at least one floor in a dormitory devoted to it.

Either way, build a bridge and get over it.

I don't see why you are so stubborn and refuse to try and be a little neater. Trying something like this IS NOT GOING TO KILL YOU. my god...

I'd like to know what college you go to, that you think they force you to live on campus, and they don't kick people out for repeat offenses...

I think it depends what Doctor is being used in this scenario. The Ninth Doctor would probably beat the crap out of the borgs, but the Tenth...as hot as I think he is, he's a bit of a sissy. [and yes, i know there are other doctors. But I haven't seen classic Who yet.]

The TARDIS and the sonic screwdriver are both good tools for defeating an enemy, although K-9 could be useful in this situation as well. Also, whatever companion is along could also help out.

In my experience with the show, it seems that the Doctor uses his brain as a weapon [to outsmart the enemy] more often than he uses the sonic screwdriver as a weapon.

But in any case, I vote Doctor Who wins.

On a much happier (?!?) note I got in a fight this weekend. I was DDing for some of my cousins. About five in the morning I walked to upstairs bar to retrieve my drunks, and saw one of them face down on the ground being kicked by three guys, and a fourth waiting in the weeds. So I should blocked one guy and threw myself in between two other brawlers.... long story short my drunks has picked a fight with the club security, and were getting the butt kicking they deserved. Today's lesson kids don't hit someone wearing a staff t-shirt... espically if he and his friends are twice your size.

one of my guy friends got in a bar fight on saturday. I don't know for sure what happened, but i think his friend accidentally bumped into a drunk guy, and a brawl started...and my friend was just trying to break it up, and got an ass kicking. Thankfully, he and his friend are alright...just some small cuts and bruises and whatnot.

Happy belated birthday, Good Dr. How was it? Do anything fun? Smile

    Haven't posted in a while...so what's new...umm..

I'm applying to be the next editor in chief of the paper. i'm a bit scared, but i think if i get the position, i can do it.

This creepy boy likes me...we've had a few conversations, he's in one of my classes...but he just creeps the hell out of me.

I'm gonna start trying to get back in shape, too. It won't be easy, since i have asthma and bad knees..but i'm going to try.

and that's pretty much it. nothing else interesting is going on in my corner of the world, unfortunately. I haven't gotten into any fights, still single, blah blah blah. :p

This particular one amused me. Can't say I've ever heard of that one before...haha.

I'm going to sidestep the whole discussion on gays/lesbians/etc., just because I'm not in the mood to debate/discuss it. perhaps the next random discussion, i'll join in.

I skimmed those posts, and I do agree....a lot of people are biased about this sort of thing. Either that or they're terribly mis-informed.

    Since I'll be busy tomorrow:

Have a good Thanksgiving, kids! [and if you don't celebrate....have a good thursday! ;)]

Stream of consciousness question: does anyone else hate cuddling at bedtime? Rarely can I ever get to sleep with someone else draped over me.

I like to cuddle for a few minutes before sleeping, but I hate cuddling while sleeping. I can't sleep with someone next to me, it's just weird and not what i'm used to.

I haven't cuddled in a long time, it kind of makes me sad. I love cuddling.

    myspace like 4chan...UGH. Frown

I technically HAVE a myspace, but i loathe it, and almost never log in.

I like facebook way better, although i hate when people send me invites to add new applications. I have a minimal amount, and I will NOT be adding any more, ever. haha.

Plus, our internet in the dorms blows worse than a hurricane, and half the time myspace won't load. so i don't even bother anymore.

unrelated: this kid who likes me went out and got drunk tonight, and now won't stop drunk dialing or drunk IMing me. It's getting kind of ridiculous. I think he's a nice guy, and I like to talk to him. But not when he's drunk. I don't appreciate being drunk dialed/IMd, and even less so now that he won't quit doing it.

    /random part of post. :p

    Ack. Ahhh. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

    WHY?!?!?!

Why would you pay more money for a keyboard that has no markings on it? Why not just paint over your keys or something?

    * Goatchunx is confused

I'm not sure, however, that doesn't mean it's not awesome. Grin

Seriously. How genius is that? "I'm going to sell a blank keyboard for more than a printed keyboard is worth, and make a lot of money off it!"

I'd love a Das Keyboard, but 1) too much money, 2) I don't know if I could still type as fast without the letters. Like...I don't look at the keyboard, ever...but I know the markings are there. I think not having them there would totally throw me.

I used to chicken peck, but I was insanely fast and accurate. Then I had to take a keyboard typing class as part of my high school curriculum, which was the only class I ever seriously thought about dropping - the teacher was horrific.

Now I type in the "standard" way and I've found it does make me faster and more accurate. I can also type blindfolded (I typed this sentence with my eyes closed, and my keyboard is semi-broken, dudes).

Perhaps you'd like one of these, then? Wink

They're expensive, but they're so cool. I wish I had one. Mostly because I loooveeee keyboards that make the old-school clicky noises. My current keyboard makes clicky noises to a point, but not the same as the old computer keyboards.

Random: I really miss playing my clarinet. /random

    I've always been a home-row kid. I type about...93 words a minute, on average.

How did I do it? I've been using a computer ever since I was a toddler, we had typing classes in grade school, I spend way too much time on the internet....;)

Yay, PR starts tomorrow! I think my mom's taping it, since her and I are both busy tomorrow night.

    And that's it. :p

Doctor Who is amusing, and it's cool that you're doing Criminal Justice. Gave up on relationships eh? I'm sure there is some sort of pompous or cockney joke to be made here, but that's not a "me" thing, haha. I hope that does work out for you though, and maybe sometime I can swing by your area and we can play some Magic or something. I do occasionally visit Michigan for family anyways. =)

Strangely enough, my mom's going to school for criminal justice too. I kinda followed in her footsteps, I guess. Anyway, she does online classes with ITT.

And before anyone asks, NO, I'm not going to be a cop. My mother would disown me, heh. Hopefully administration or crisis management instead. Smile

Yeah, I did. It's not so much that I've been hurt in them [although that's happened], it's just that I feel I'm too independent for a relationship right now. I'm having more fun living my life how i want, without worrying what someone else will think. Ask my best friend, and you'll get a "JO NEEDS SOMEONE BECAUSE SHE'S LONELY" response. I could go on about this for hours, but I'll refrain.

Doctor Who is amazing. I love David Tennant as the Doctor. Grin

That'd be cool! I've met a few of my online friends [from my LiveJournal] already. Smile

Completely unrelated: I'm probably not sleeping tonight. I'm visiting Emalee at her dorm, and I'm stuck being the third wheel....with no bed to sleep in. So if I sleep, I get stuck with sleeping at her desk. Whatever. She's too caught up with her boyfriend to give a **** about me, it seems.

...sorry to make that kinda blog-like, heh. I was trying hard not to.

I'd say it's alright I guess. I can't really say it's "alright" alright until I'm in college again, but I'm getting by in a decent apartment in Columbus (GA), and my biggest problem is being frustrated that I can't find work for a month or two so I can buy books and pay for my SAT II fees. I am obviously completely out of touch since the last time we really talked, you were like 16 and in high school, shortly after we had dated for that month or two. I'm sure by now any and all things aside from that I remember your first name and that you live in Wisconsin are largely irrelevant.

Are you going to college or anything interesting like that?

Also, I would contribute to this thread more but I basically know no one and popped in because Tuatha said Leilani hangs out `round here.

    Hi :3

I was hoping you were going to say "Columbus, OH"....because I love that city. :p

Yeah, that was almost what...four years ago? I'll be 20 in June.

Yep, I'm in college now. University of Wisconsin - Parkside. Never heard of it? That's okay, hardly anyone has. Wink Its population is about 5000 students. I used to be a theatre major, but I switched to Criminal Justice...hopefully going into administration or crisis management with it. Aside from that...i guess the quick rundown is that I gave up on relationships for a while, my new favorite TV show is Doctor Who, I absolutely LOVE college football [especially Ohio State]....and yeah. :p

In unrelated news, I freaked everyone out today because I wore something "nice", instead of a tshirt, hoodie, and jeans like I do every day. It's kind of amusing...

In magic news: I have never drafted anything. Mostly because I don't keep up with the current stuff anymore. I have a whole binder of cards someplace, which I have to dig up in order to play with a friend. I dunno. It's one of my interests, just not as high up on the list anymore.

Obviously I am a bit nudging into the conversation uninvited but; you did the correct thing, and as someone who has been to counseling before it's a great tool for organizing your thoughts, making decisions, planning, and generally being a healthy person - even if you haven't actually had "problems" in specific that drive you to it. You made the right decision either way.

Also hey Leilani I tracked you down again.

Oh my god! I haven't heard from you in forever! How's life been?

Waffle: you're welcome. Smile I'm glad you're working through this, and going to talk to someone.

I didn't do anything special for Halloween, although I may be attending a party tomorrow? I told the kid who invited me that I'd only go if he came up with a costume for me.

..Should be interesting to see what he comes up with. XD
