    Why is there drama?

Also I wouldn't think that it would be so easly to simply search for your problem seeing as forums searches suck, and I doubt every problem has ever been answered. I just don't think one ginormus thread is any good. I mean yea I guess people could just make a new post every time in the water cooler thing, but the mods seem insanely picky about anything spam, I'm afraid if I post something that has been posted before they will give me like 1 billion infractions and bomb my house.

Thats why I suggested a dating forum so that people have a good spot to ask questions. I figure hey, we are magic nerds, everybody needs help with dating, especially us fat ugly ones. And theres lots of us. So why not? Help make the magic community look cooler, because we came here for dating tips and are now bringing our hot new bf's and gf's to magic tournys with us! lolz!

I don't think a dating subforum is really necessary, to be honest with you. The best way to handle this, in my opinion, is to just ask the mods to make/sticky a new dating help thread. If nothing else, you can make references to the old one by linking to the specific post (yay, search functions!).

I also don't see how us creating a new subforum would help the MtG community as a whole look "cooler". First off, not every single person from the Magic community participates on this forum. Second, who cares if you look "cool" or not? Magic is kind of a geek thing, and I think there are better ways to beat the "I never shower and are 5045 billion pounds and watch anime lololol" stereotype that may arise than "looking cool" because the Magic forum you post on has a dating subforum.

Forum searches suck? I don't think you can generalize about that...some forums have very good search functions. If this one's search function is off, then you have every right to point the administrators in the right direction to fix it.

    Just my two cents.

    O HAI

    I do exist!

About food: I'm a meat-eater (and now I wait for that to be taken out of context), but I don't mind some vegetarian stuff. Tofu and other associated products are uber-ick to me, though.

Ryan was a vegetarian for like...5 years or something, so he's able to switch back and forth between the two "styles" of eating. I like when Ryan cooks, though, 'cause he can pull together something that manages to be a vegetarian dish and a meat-eater dish all in one.

I don't think I could ever be vegetarian...I like chicken and beef and all that too much. I suppose one day I could give it a try, though I doubt it'd last long.

In other news, I went on a vacation two weekends ago, and saw two Ben Folds shows in Minnesota. Was good time! Sunday, we got to meet Ben and his band members. It was definitely awesome.

Off to watch some Doctor Who nao!

I was...21 inches long, and almost 11 pounds. And now I'm pretty tiny. Ha.

Why hello thar from Minnesota. The Benventure of Awesome is going quite nicely, we've been waiting at this venue since about 1:30 in the afternoon. 'Cause we're awesome.

And now to return to the cold. Frown

Out of curiosity, what is the abbreviation for Manitoba? (you know, like Wisconsin is WI, Minnesota is MN, etc.) We were counting license plates and didn't know what the abbreviation was.

I'm in a student house, and I stayed over the Christmas break, so I'd sleep naked, wake up, walk to the shower naked, but then I'd get cold afterwards and have to put on clothes.

My boyfriend did that one weekend when his parents were gone, and after his shower he crawled back into bed, and went "JO I'M COLD".

His mom keeps the house relatively cool, and has since he moved back there, so I dunno what the hell he was thinking.

But I was amused. And I mercilessly teased him about it for the rest of the day. Except now he makes fun of the way I sleep. Ah well.

On Facebook/Myspace: I have both, but I use Facebook much much more. The only "app" i have for it is Chess, because I am a nerd. Myspace is simply to annoy my brother and make fun of his pictures. Grin I also have a LiveJournal, which I use pretty much every single day of my life (and have for almost 5 years). but it's friends-only.

On Religion: I'm an atheist. My mom haaateeeesss it, but I think her reasoning is that I could be into worse stuff like sacrifices or something. So she puts up with it.

(Jolene you can't just dole out alcohol to anyone that shows up. First check if they have a valid fake ID. Then when they don't, procure sex from them in exchange for said id and access to said booze. You act like you've never done this before!)

But welcome all. Grab a bean bag chair and a Shirley Temple and cozy up to the warmth of our flaming. I'll be responsible for checking ID's Wink

And Kraj can teach you the secret handshake. (But for the handshake you might want to bring your own umbrella)

Ha. I'm not even old enough to drink legally, and you're telling me I have to check fake IDs? For some reason, this is absolutely hilarious.

Procure sex from them? I don't think the boyfriend would like that much. :p

    But yeah.

@ new people: don't mind blue. He doesn't get out much. He doesn't bite, I promise. (unless you're into that sort of thing, in which case he probably would bite you.)

As far as sci-fi shows go, the only one I can stand to watch is Doctor Who. I've never heard of Angel, and thusly know absolutely nothing about it.

At the moment, I'm trying to find a place to get ahold of the new DW ep. Because ResNet doesn't let me torrent anything. And the file I spent HOURS downloading last night is made of epic fail. Sigh.

Welcome to the new kids! Beanbags and drinks and all that stuff.

I'm the editor-in-chief of my college's newspaper, so I get all kinds of crazy press releases and stuff.

One of the emails I got on Tuesday was about how "Butterfinger" was going to be changed to "The Finger", since "butterfinger" implied clumsiness.

I posted it up for everyone to see, and EVERY person fell for it.

Google had a pretty good prank...first human colony on mars. I lol'd.

Jolene is a nice name. It screams sexy. So does Jolene Blalock. Smile

Heh, thanks. Maybe one day I'll go back to being "Jolene", but certainly not anytime soon. I don't even respond half the time when someone says "Hey Jolene!"..so..yeah. hah.

    Quote from blue
My mom still goes by Jolene but some use the nick Jody. But mostly Jolene. I still call her mom....when I call her.

My mom's stopped responding to "mom", or "mother", so now I actually have to address her by her name. And yell "ROBERTA!".

I don't think she's going deaf. I think she's just sick of the "MOOOOOMMMM HE HIT ME AGAIN!" tone of voice. hahaha.

Also, for reference, I am not blue's mom. Just in case you were thinking that. Wink

Don't be so sure. We're everywhere and we look just like you. There are many copies. And we have a plan.

Hahaha. Well, if you're all like my professor, then by all means. Conquer America. :p

    Quote from Mamelon

    I doubt that.

No, it's quite true. I do like Nickelback. I've seen them twice in concert.
Though, I saw on the internet today that the lead singer managed to do something not many males can, when he was a teenager, in order to get beer? I'll leave you to guess what. :p

I've been to a shrink before. She did the stereotypical ink blot test, and when I told her it was just ink on paper, she asked me to "try" and see something. That's when the rest of our sessions became me sitting in silence.

on the topic of names...Very, very few people address me by my full name anymore. I go by Jo, with a few people getting away with "Joey". Full name happens to be Jolene, like that goddamn Dolly Parton song.:-/

And no, I look nothing like the Jolene in the song. Rolleyes

    I'm not from Canada. Lulz.

The closest thing I've got to Canada is the fact that my professor for two of my classes is Canadian. He's from Winnipeg. It's kind of amusing to listen to him talk sometimes. Because if he hadn't told us on the first day, we'd have no clue. Except for when he says things like "against".

Because that tends to come out like "ageeeeeeenst". We can't help but smile and laugh a little (on the inside!) when he says it, or similar-sounding words.

    And...uh. I like Nickelback.

Thus ends my connections to Canada. :p

It is a very high quality moped that is pretty big and built so that it protects me very well so I don't think I would be in any realy danger while driving with other cars on the highway. Also they are designed for use over in Europe for people to go everywhere. i know this cause i went to visit family in Spain and everyone over there drove mopeds everywhere they went since the roads over there are smaller cause many of them are classic historic roads. Will I be able to drive this on the highway if i also wear proper protective gear? I don't really how to look this kinda thing up. I would really like to be able to take it on the highway. Here's a pic of it.

Don't talk crazy. No motor vehicle is really safe. Especially one that lacks any kind of walls. You get hit while on that thing, you'll be flung farther than you can imagine, probably.

If the roads are that narrow/evil in Spain, I'm guessing there's not many cars. So...yeah, of course everyone uses one and people don't seem to get hurt often. There's no two-ton behemoth to squish you like a bug.

I personally wouldn't take it on the freeway, but that's just me...

I'm in my second year at the University of Wisconsin - Parkside (never heard of it? Yeah, I didn't until I applied. it was the only school i applied to).

I pay roughly 10-11K per year. Give or take a bit. Nearly all of that is being paid for by loans.

I dunno. I guess it's worth what I'm paying for it. I think housing is a little ridiculous, but..not much i can do about it.

I have to say, it'd probably make sporting events much more interesting if Vogue was the national anthem...Especially the 'manly' sports, like football.

[yeah, i'm still around. i've been soooooo busy lately with midterms and whatnot.]

I forget what happened exactly, but I was around 10, my brother around 7..

I somehow whacked him in the face with the TV remote. Gave him such a bloody nose that as soon as I hit him, blood started coming out, and all over the remote (as I stood there, kinda too shocked to move).

My dad tried to salvage the remote by turning it upside down over a sink to drain out the blood...totally didn't work. But it was interesting to see a waterfall of blood come out of a remote.

Guess my dad didn't realize how strong all that Little League baseball had made me..hah.
