I have waay too many of myself, but I like the ones a little older slightly better.
I can be photogenic when I want to and when I'm aware of the camera.

This is 2006 - basically the same when I clean up and have normal colored hair

At first glance, you looked EXACTLY like someone I go to school with. I think it's the hair/expression.. Needless to say, I did a double-take and went "WAAAITTT A MINUTE!"

    :p

Oh, what the hell. Everyone else is doing it...let's see what I can find for you guys.

I don't have much in the way of close-up pictures, but my friend Zak took this one of me a few weeks ago. I must say, it's one of the few pictures I like of myself.

Here's one of Ryan and I...this has to be my favorite picture ever.

No, his face isn't frozen that way. But that's pretty much how we are. He's the weirdo, and I'm the semi-normal one. I suppose we should keep in mind that he had a few bottles of beer by that point, as well...

Anyway. That's me (and the weirdo). Take it or leave it, up to you. :p

I've never had a problem with it, though the company does sound quite fishy.

Just out of curiosity, how do you access the forums without disabling your firewall (when they try and gank your information)?

I've got a Motorola Razor...I want to say it's the third generation of the Razor, but don't hold me to that.

Personally, I love Motorola. I had another flip-phone from them years ago, and I used that thing until the life was beaten out of it. I dropped it, kicked it (accidentally), threw it, basically treated it like ****, and it worked like it was brand new.

The Razor I baby like nothing else, I've only dropped it once in the few months I've had it, but I think it's a great phone. The camera is pretty nice (though I don't use it often), the sound is great, and it's got a fairly decent battery life. I charge it once a week.

Before this phone, I had a Nokia somethingorother. It's just my personal preference, but I can. not. stand. Nokia. I'm not sure why, but that brand just drives me up a wall. It was a brick (literally, it wasn't a flip-phone), had terrible sound and a horrid battery life.

We have a family plan from ATT (old Cingular. I liked Cingular better, but anyway), so I'm not sure how much it is per month. My personal line is only 10 bucks, but I don't know how much the overall bill is. We don't use texting (though I'm gonna offer to pay for it, I miss the occasional text) or any of the multimedia stuff, since my mom can't afford to pay for it...

ATT is a great provider, I've never had a problem with not having service or having bad reception.

The difference a few months, a lot of scruff and no haircut can make I guess. *shrug*

And thanks everyone for making my ego that much worse. I'll be a nightmare to deal with soon.

    You're welcome. We try. Grin

Kraj: I like your current one better. I don't know why, exactly...but I like the current picture better. Smile

I think they can track users by their IP addresses, which may be how they caught him.

However, sometimes you can tell who is who just by their posting style...even if they try and change it up a bit to confuse the mods/admin. I'm sure some of the staff here have been around long enough to find something faintly familiar about Paffim's posting style...

But only the mods know for sure. :p

    Ah...also a fine specimen.

    I agree. :p

For now, my picture will remain hidden on my computer.

(Really, it's just that I'm too lazy to dig through my files for a halfway decent one. :D)

Kraj: No kidding. I like how we went from carnival rides to posting pictures of ourselves...

Please note, that it IS against the rules, but its NEVER enforced. I have reported dozens of posts that are made in black text (something you cant even SEE on dark skin) but nothing is ever done about it. Sad but true if your a dark skin user. Cause again, you're the minority.

Yeah, I didn't think it was enforced that often (if at all). But since it's in the rules, I guess anyone can technically report a post with illegible fonts and colors...

I don't mind the black text on the dark skin...but maybe that's because I don't come across it that often.

I'm not trying to get them banned, I'm trying to get people to stop using them. If there was a setting that turned it off, I'd love it.

TFE has nothing to do with the gutter, he got thrown out repeatedly for being a moron Confused

I never said anything about banning people. What I did say is that totally outrageous fonts/colors ARE against the rules, and you ARE able to report them. I also said that you can't control everyone else's behavior, only your own.

A simple change of text color from black/white to green or blue isn't a big deal, and it never should be.

I'm asking everyone on the forum at once, instead of PM'ing a thousand people.

Yes, but not everyone reads the SYM forum, so how would they know that this irritates you?

The point I'm trying to make is that you can't control everything everyone does. There are going to be some things here that you just won't like, and that's that.

Are outrageous fonts and colors against the rules? Yes, and you have every right to report them. But at the same time, just because someone prefers red text to the standard black (white on the dark skin) doesn't mean that you have the right/place to tell them they can't use it.

Perhaps you could try changing YOUR settings for the forums to see if it makes posts easier to read, instead of trying to make everyone else change THEIR settings?

Paffim, I don't see anything wrong with the post you linked to. It's quite easy to read...

If it bothers you that much, perhaps you should just PM the person in question and say "hey, just so you know, I find your font/color/whatever hard to read. Others may be having the same issue, so maybe you could think about making your posts easier to read? I'd appreciate it, thanks."

If you're polite and explain what exactly the problem is, they're probably more inclined to change it. I doubt the admin-sort of people here would take away the option to change font/color just because you don't like it...I'm sure others on this forum don't like the option to change the font/color of posts, but they deal with it somehow.

I guess I just don't see what the big deal is. What's the harm in letting people express themselves?

First ride we went on was this Hang Glider ride, was dissapointed when I got on because I couldn't see White Castle anywhere.

Then we went on the Freakout...which is officially the first Carnival Ride to ever make me queezee (spelled wrong on purpose because no matter how I try it looks spelled wrong...so I spelled it the fun way) The ride was play "I Kissed A Girl", which has led me to add a new singer to my "I LOVE YOU!!!" list. That song is awesome, all he songs are awesome.

    Ha, White Castle. XD

Freakout is something our city has for the 4th of July fest every year...the first year I remember it being there, my friends and I were standing around and watching it, discussing who had the balls to go on it..

all of a sudden, this phone drops from the sky, and shatters on the deck of the ride. I don't mean "broke in two". I mean..shattered. tiny pieces all over. So when the ride is over and everyone is collecting their things, this guy..had to be almost 20, was like..CRYING because his phone was the one that shattered. Turned out it wasn't his phone, it was his mom's, and it was brand-new.

That kid got owned, needless to say. Grin

Doom has a time device, but he does not use it that much. He is more concerned with the present than with the past. There was the third(last) great "Time War" between season 26 and the new season 1. Not much is known about what happened (they have not gone into what happened yet). All that is known is that it was between the Deleks and the Time Lords, and that the Doctor is now "Last of the Time Lords."

Well, we know a little more about it than that...but Wikipedia pretty much sums it up.

    Though...

Even though the Doctor dismisses the possibility of other Time Lords existing (he'd know they were there), there is always the possibility that they're fobwatched just like he and the Master were. He'd have no way of knowing, then. And what about Jenny?

Just in case people haven't seen season 3 or 4. :p

Honestly, I'd go buy a new one. I had a Microsoft branded optical scroll mouse since they released them, and I ditched it last summer for a Razer infrared mouse. Your mouse is usually your biggest navigation tool, especially a scroll wheel to easily navigate web pages, even my laptop's trackpad has scroll wheel functions. Go buy a new one, a good mouse can be found for under $20 pretty much anywhere. This problem here sounds like a physical problem, the scroll wheel has probably worn down from use and is either no longer touching a contact, or some other problem.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I was planning on telling my dad. He complains that the trackpad on his laptop is "too small" or something ridiculous like that. He won't be happy about spending money on a new mouse, but he'll just have to deal.

    Thanks! Smile

I only bite if you stick a limb in front of my mouth. Ha. But hi. Grin

I'm still around, just been reading more than posting. Some car-hunting in there too, trying to find the ideal car for me.

Well. the IDEAL car for me is a corvette or a camaro, but let's be realistic, no one's gonna want to insure either of them for a college kid. Wink

Way to go, Howler and Shinigami! Dates are always interesting. My boyfriend and I STILL can't get through an entire movie. Though we made it through "Who Killed the Electric Car?". Why we can sit through a documentary without 'incident' but not through a fiction film is beyond me. I highly suggest that movie, though, it's pretty informative. Beware, it'll make you want an electric car. Wink

    / random post!

Strange, I've never had a problem with VLC. Use it to watch Doctor Who. Grin

    Anyway, my question:

my dad came to me this morning with his mouse, going "the scroll wheel doesn't work!"

The rest of the mouse works fine, apparently, but the scroll wheel doesn't...scroll. From what I gathered, it does absolutely nothing.

Granted, this is probably the cheapest mouse available (I can't even find a manufacturer's name on the thing), so you get what you pay for...I guess.

He runs XP on a laptop that's pretty ancient by today's standards, but I don't know what the specific details are.

Is this worth looking into and trying to fix (and if so, how do I fix it?), or should I just tell him to scrap this one and get a decent mouse?
