Well here in Melbourne packs are around $5 - $6 (Though have seen a store at $7 which is excessive in my opinion) and a box is $150. If prices increase anymore it will probably mean some kids will be driven out of the market. It's already difficult for beginners to continue playing when u tell them that certain top decks have cards in the high $$ range and most of the time boosters are not even worth half the price u pay for them.
I so hope that prices will not go up for the sake of the newer players in the game.
Pre-release in Melbourne, went 4-0 and ended up getting 8 booters as prizes,
All i can say is that Scry is one of the best abilities in M11 as you can pretty much stack your deck legally with cards like Crystal Ball and Foresee and with flying, packs a real punch. Opened Jace and Frost Titan along with the Angelic Arbiter as my bomb cards so ended up playing U/W/r (splashing 2 Lightning Bolts and a Fireball with tonness of flying - 3 Augury Owls!!, It played out like a shaky control deck
Though the deck had problem with rush as flying creatures tend to be frail and thankfully I didn't see many Pyroclasms it did great against decks with a slower curve, overall a pretty good experience compared with other pre releases.
One interesting thing to note, out of 14 boosters, there was not one Preordain or Doom Blade but 3 Lightning bolt..hmmmm

Mmmm I attended the pre release in Melbourne, Australia and went 2-2 and ended up with 4 boosters which was pretty satisfying considering the contents.
I opened a Gideon in my first booster and automatically locked myself into white and ended up having to use almost all my white cards due to the fact that i seemed to open very little white after that.
White had a few levellers to play around with such as Kabira Vindicator, Ikiral Outrider and Knight of Cliffhaven and together with a Oust and Smite formed a nice offensive suit
The trouble I had was picking a second colour and ended up playing red before switching to blue with splashed red due to 2x Staggershock and a Flame Slash. Mnemonic Wall turned out to be one of my best cards as it was able to return alot of valuable removal or the draw cards needed at just the required time.
The most epic moment of the game came when I was blown out with a Disaster Radius for 9.....
The problem i found was that levelling was simply too slow.. to many times, I was under pressure from early green beats such as Nest Invader or having my levellers removed before they could provide any assistance. Eldrazi for me at least wasn't too much of a problem mainly due to me using Gidon to bait them then blocking with a Eldrazi of my own or just chumping with a spawn before using -2 to finish it off. It was definately one of the slower formats i have played but it was still very fun : )
Had a reasonable good time at it, 4 wins 2 losses ended up coming 5th out of 36 people. Can't say i'm too disappointed. Got an Emeria Angel, Mordant Dragon and a Raging Ravine but dropped the red green deck after one round to go green white with allies subtheme due to the absolute lack of red cards - and RRR is pretty difficult to splash.:-/
Had some of the weirdest luck going around including my opponent not dropping a land when he had an Eternity Vessel out set on 20 and then another opponent killing me in extra time with zero cards in his library due to a Surrakar Marauder with an explorer scope successfully hitting land for about 6 times in a row - Guess what goes around comes around
Overall it was fun except 6 Rounds started taking its toll late in the day with a few misplays seeping into some people's games.
Hmm looks good at first glance but i assume it'll be very hard to protect and let it generate the tokens - Love the art though seems to capture the mood/going ons of the card
I think it's pretty nice in limited but outside limited maybe not as good - blue has better options such as counterspells in constructed. In the pre-release I attended i noticed that it was an annoyance to many people example on a DSC but at the same time not impossible to remove ie. ping damage and equipment
I started playing magic in the Kamigawa block just before Saviors was released. I frequently browse this site but hadn't really felt like joining until now =P.
I was introduced to magic by a few friends to pass time. My favourite colour in magic is white and my favourite card at the moment is Elspeth
I so hope that prices will not go up for the sake of the newer players in the game.
Also.. NOT good for EDH but pretty good for anything else.
