Not sure if this has already been suggested, tl;dr. And please don't discount it completely, but what if the multicolored gods had affinity for both colored permanents and they have regular cmc for their abilities and p/t.

    Multi-colored God 6XY
Affinity for X permanents and Y permanents.
(Static ability representative of X and Y color pair)
    2XY: Get an X-and-Y-colored effect.

I know wizards talks about how butt hurt affinity makes people, so they could reword it to something similar to devotion, though in this instance affinity works. But a new ability might read something like this:

Devo-variant Red (This spell costs 1 less to cast for each red permanent you control.)

And I guess while I'm at it, is convoke totally out of the question? Basically answers the "need like-colored stuff" problem that seems to have everyone scratching their heads.

What I'm getting at is that Devotion as it is doesn't really make for fun gameplay on multi-colored cards unless they are hybrid, and I think the multi-colored gods are going to need at least one mana of each of their representative colors. We'll soon see though and then we can all move on with our lives. Smile

Hey, I think Mycosynth Lattice is totally necessary. It enables you to kill lands for U and allows for faster Memnarch steals once you add him to your deck. I just saw that Lattice wasn't in your wishlist and wanted to make sure you knew how good it could be for you.

It would be kind of sweet to see someone whose spark activated recently do to a critical story element...Like Thalia? Unfortunately, she's way too much like Elspeth in almost every way to be different enough to care about.

What if we also have the Lithomancer show up looking for Sorin to drive him back to take care of some unfinished business. I'd like to get at least someone that we are peripherally aware of printed in AVR.

And just to throw another one out there, I'd like to have some form of red planeswalker that wasn't fire or earth based, posssibly more war and conquest based similar to Sarkhan Vol.

    Just some musings.

Forbidden Alchemy says hello. I personally like the Spikeshot Elder out, but Fling is also acceptable. There are so many great activated abilities on creatures right now. I'm sure everyone is aware that Oxida Daredevil gets haste just by saccing an art-e-fact? To the haters out there who love the "dies to removal" clause that every creature out there carries: Spellskite, Foiling plans in Standard for another 12 months.

I know this has been said, but i feel it needs to be reiterated: Is it possible that the howlpack alpha is simply for promotional purposes?

My biggest problem with the corresponding token/werewolf card for the day version of a card in the pack is that this means you can get a maximum of one day/night card per pack. Or lets say that 10-15 werwolves each have an 'a' and 'b' version randomly distributed as normal throughout the packs, now we are talking about 10-15 completely useless cards in your draft pool or sealed deck. These will, at best, be distributed in some fashion, perhaps as an extra pack in the fat packs much like the basic lands, or simply replace tokens/rules from time to time.

Please don't screw this up wotc.

What this forum has taught me: That even if you try and play exactly how you think the game should be played, you're still annoying someone.

I know I get annoyed by what some people in my playgroup do, but now i think i have to just deal with it, because i'm sure something i do is just as annoying to them.

And also, i need to stop being a sore loser as that was definitely a chart topper on this list.

So... his two card combo is unfair, but your meta-warping two card combo is fine?

Perhaps you are this opponent he speaks of?

Also, on topic, I quit for futility all the time. I have said some things in the heat of the moment during edh, but nothing that has made me a pariah or anything. Limited and Standard: Getting hosed by your deck sucks, and there is no reason to play out mana****, the primary reason for ragequits in my neck of the woods.

I'm also a bit concerned about running 8 lands that come into play tapped, but that may be unfounded.

Glimmerpost doesnt come in tapped; however, i do think it's sub-par in the deck as you definately want access to double white and if you need devout lightcaster from sideboard, having any colorless mana around is gonna sting.

Perhaps they are allowing people the chance to play with Phyrexian mana cards by dropping the one-drop burn spell's power level. Also, in that regard, every color already has access to a great one mana kill spell in dismember. I am personally satisfied with this transition, as i am absolutely terrified to play a card like dismember in a nonblack deck or even paying life for mental misstep.

    dispatch, a faerie??? in mirrodin???

What's so perfect and tragic about this post is that it sums up exactly why this card art is terrible. "That's no faerie, it's a space st- no it's a sphinx!" I'm going to vote for Dispatch as well.

I wonder what you people would complain about if wizards never made a mistake.

It is a simple mistake. I am sure most of you misspeak. Does that mean you don't care about what you are talking about?

It isn't just simply that they put the wrong name in, they clearly referenced another card depicting greven, meaning they had no idea who greven was in the story. So why even say that he had anything to do with the weatherlight saga if you don't even understand in what capacity. Why not say:

"Greven is the quintessential black villian: scary and ruthless. Not only are most of his enemies to afraid to fight him, but he kills one of his comrades when he joins the fray!"

See how i didn't even have to mention that i know nothing about a storyline arch that lasted for six years? I just think this is a mistake of assumed knowledge, which is not the same as one of misspelling or switching names.

Edit: Looks like they corrected it on the mothership after all. Well no harm no foul i suppose, at least they fixed the mistake.

Sure. The problem is that you're looking at them like a huge monolithic single entity. Wizards of the Coast is a company made up of a buttload of divisions and departments WITHIN those divisions.
It's not a single entity. Creative probably has nary a damn thing to do with Card of the Day any more than Design does.
Card of the Day is likely the sole dominion of the webteam.

This is true; however, if you weren't 100% sure about something at your job, wouldn't you ask an authority on the subject in house and/or check a wiki to make sure it was accurate? The sad thing is NO ONE in the department, to our knowledge, knew enough to question this one. But i also can't pretend to understand how many different people edit the website, so really i spose that's a moot point. I may also be biased because i am apparently one of the few who liked the entire weatherlight saga. (save prophecy)

This happened to me with the M10 decks. I bought the Blue deck with foil djinn (which is the only reason i bought it) then when i opened it, it was the black deck behind it (with the cemetery reaper i needed) it worked out perfect for me! I can only hope you needed the other cards in that deck and only wanted the awesome foil.

Sadly, the templating isn't that appealing (Font size, not the level up frame). Modes are amazing, but i would almost want to add a "once per turn." rider to the level up, just so that you can't do the psuedo-sweep then armageddon. Otherwise, i really do enjoy this as an idea for land and definitely was a point they could have touched on in rise instead of that turd angelheart vial.

life being used as a cost and therefore having threshold abilities based life totals (continuing the vampire theme that'll be rotating [read: possible reprints]). fits with the gothic theme and green and white both work with life too meaning blue and red's role in a horror block continues to remain anonymous imo...

edit: in such a way sangromancer could be rather fitting when crossed over but there doesn't seem to be a single card that benefits overly from this life-focus or particularly relates to it

I'd say this seems like a very logical thought. Aside from the fact that it helps with phybrid mana, this card stuck out to me as completely useless. In a block that could be graveyard themed, where discarding and saccing creatures is popular, this could be a thorn in some sides. I like the idea that here is also a potential life theme, since this also fits in with that, but i won't hold my breath for that.
