I've said this once before, but I really don't think anyone listened or cared. They're doing this to make money, because it only benefits the power players to have spoilers (and I know you're going to say I'm wrong but I've gone to a prere as a power player and not as one, it's a drastically different experience) and everyone else loses to them because of it. It's helping the little guys out to not have spoilers. We represent, what? a tenth of the active magic community? Probably less. We are reasonably uninformed as well. We're not the best, and we're not benefiting from these spoilers as much as we'd like to think. This is good in the long run.

This post was a joke
Once upon a time, back before I left, we generally assumed users had an IQ outside of the single digit range. It is sad that it has come to pass that users post disclaimers like this.
It does no damage in many cases. Opponent goes first, plays temple garden.
You draw, drop Plains/Caves/Shrine and drop a Savannah Lion.
Opponent draws, drops forest/plains/brushland and plays Sakura-Tribe Elder.
You now have no damage on the board, you cannot drop Jitte because you really have no valid creature so you'll be playing a castigate or Kami or HOC or Bob depending on your build. So because you didn't have the Hound which would survive allowing you to play Jitte turn 2, equip 3, you have to play another creature, then play jitte, then equip pushing your Jitte attack to turn 4 instead of 3 and also losing a useless creature to a chump that acceled your opponent.
In the mirror the rusalka eats it for breakfast as a chump or with it's ability.
I think that makes them pretty bad, to the format, not in magic.
If they drop an Elder, you wait. If they let it sit for a couple turns they either have too much land in their hand (which could indicate a subpar build) or they're pretty bad at playing Magic. You don't magically not have any damage on the board, because if you drop another 2/x and swing they can only chump one. I don't like hearing people say that small beats are useless once the game gets going, because if someone is saying that they have a poor understanding of the game.
I find it odd that WotC hasn't commented yet. You would think they would immediately issue a statement if true or (much more likely) close the thread if false.
I'm leaning towards fake but Bent is a trusted user.
No, Wizards would make an immediate statement if and ONLY if this were false. Otherwise, they would be spending time attempting to fix the problem in some way or at least detect instances of its exploitation before coming out and saying "Hay giez gues wat" and then detailing, even vaguely, any problem. Bent's post is actually likely to get deleted by Wizos who want to keep the existance of any holes as minimal as possable, as I'm certain this post has started a hailstorm of attempts to figure it out by people across the board.
While you're at it, make it a LAN house too. Those things are cash cows. I had a store nearby that did it and while it didn't make much profit on Magic alone (I think, I could be wrong though), the LAN was always in use. Computers are too expensive? If you advertise your store in your area, you will pay them really quickly.
This is really hit-and-miss. They only work in certain areas, and when they work, they can make thousands a day. When they don't you can lose $40,000 on capital investments alone. You can't start one of these businesses with 2 PCs. You need 4-8, and you need to offer an experience that people can't get at home (as in, top-end machines). You also need commercial licenses for the games you use, unless you want to get in legal trouble. Some companies will give these out for free if you call. Some won't.
also, magic is like drugs. if you sell, don't use or you will wind up broke.
Terrible advice. You need an insight on your game. Just don't crack packs, but that's logical advice anyway. However, I highly reccommend continuing playing, or people will rip you like there's no tomorrow. And yes, personal experience.
Anyway, go to City Hall (the one that you can't fight, you know) and ask them what you'll need to set up a business. In the US you need some inspections and a few permits, as well as the relevant tax forms. Then you'll need to go buy or rent space, and set up. You'll need to contact a Credit Union if you want to take credit cards, and you'll likely want a cash register or lockbox of some sort. Those are available from larger office supply stores. Then you'll need some containers for packs (oh sweet jesus you have to sell packs. Cash cows for draft right there). You can sell out of boxes, but I myself have used plastic displays from a local shop. Then you'll want counters, lighting, signage, ads...
Basically, this is expensive and you shouldn't go into it unless you know what you're doing and the area is saturated with players.
EDIT: The peeps advising you to get an online store are entirely wrong. They are two totally different markets. And believe me (I worked at a friend's store since it started) brick and mortar business can run, and run effectively. We rarely get more than 10 people for draft, and yet we can turn over $1000 in net profit (not gross profit, net profit) consistently every week. Another thing: sell food. It's a ridiculously good idea unless a cheaper alternative to the food you'd sell is right next door.
I am planning on transferring my collection into binders (for sorting/removing excess cards) and I was wondering how many cards can comfortably fit in one of the pockets on one of those sheets that goes in a 3-ring binder. It's been awhile since I played, and my Rares binder was always an actual binder like that, and I don't recall having prolems with 4 cards in one pocket, but now I'm wondering if it's possable that I'm wrong.
Also, who is a good manufacturer of such pages?
Thanks a ton in advance.
EDIT: By comfortably, I mean easy to access and that the cards won't bend or fray.
I noticed you guys put in a blog forum. That's great and all, but now I'm the champion of a noncause. Just a champion out there looking for a quiet riot to bring to light. So far, no dice. So could you do me a favor?
Okay, heres the favor. I want you to delete the blog forum. And start being a bit opressive about the hopes of it ever coming back, too. If it wouldn't be too hard, you could even do something so that I could maybe call you nazis? Like killing jews, that would work. You know, just to stir up a little more forum drama? I mean, I could totally get all gung-ho and we could have an epic battle and everything and it would be awesome.
Well, that or find me something else to whine about.
You know there's removal in Blue that does this a lot better, right? I mean, you don't have to use mediocre cards to get it done.

How would D-ring binders bend them? I assumed that O ring binders would if anything.

(PS: I just played Doug and his deck with U/W control. We went 3:1 me)
Anyone have legitimate suggestions on how to beat Control for poor old Doug?
