Sorry for the delays - between the hours I've been stuck on and my unreliable-at-best internet, I haven't been able to make a post.
The forms become clearer to Gear and Viya as they near the pen. (3x Kalonian Tusker, 2x Penumbra Spider) They don't see Gear yet, but soon they'll be in range to do whatever they want with the sheep.
Gully still can't hear anything, to the point where the area seems to be oddly silent.
Yeah, the results came out a little weird on my end as well.
Both Gear and Viya spot some shapes moving in the darkness, numbering a total of five. They're still too far off to make out any distinct details, but three look to be some sort of beast, while two appear to be insectoid in nature. They're all heading straight for the pen holding the sheep.
Gully doesn't notice anything out of the ordinary.
Nothing to do but take the offensive, Cyouni notes. He takes a step forward. "Anyone happen to know a certain boy?" He gives a brief description, focusing on easily identifiable characteristics.
The sheep is placed in an isolated pen, and as the sun sets, the farmer hands unlit torches to Gully and Kai. "Good fortune." With a heavy pat on the back, the farmer retreats to his home.
Set up the order of your watches, and how close Gear's staying to the pen.
You may light the torches when you feel the need.
Absently realizing his sword's still in his hand, Cyouni replaces it in its sheath on his back.
Privately, he disagrees with the others' sentiments; after all, it was only due to that child that he was in the alley in the first place. Outwardly, he simply nods, saving his observations for later.
True to his word, as night falls the farmer returns to the group herding a sheep. "She looks fine, but she probably doesn't have long t'live," he says by way of explanation. "Was going ta take her to a healer, but..." he shrugs.
Cyouni considers the guard's words. It appears that, as he thought, the children were somehow related to the thefts. "You may want to send a few of your men to watch a certain merchant," he adds, giving the merchant's description and location. "If the children are related to this, he is as well. He may even have been the one to send these assassins."
As the berserker charges at him, Cyouni manages to deflect the attack into a less vital place. It's not something he can handle forever, but the threat's over now.
Another thread of black mana traces itself around him as he shifts the blade up over his shoulder, ready for the berserker's final attack.

Kai remains blissfully asleep.
Each of you, roll a d20.
Cyouni stays back, eyes scanning the kids to see if he can spot the one he followed.

"How do you want ta set this up?"
Anything else anyone want to do before night?
