    From inside the cave, the group can hear a frenzied muttering, which begins even before Gully finishes speaking. "No go away what are you doing here go away leave me alone go away go away go away!" The muttering builds to a sound almost like a shriek, at which point an elf staggers out of the cave's depths. His clothes are ragged and filthy, and his hands grasp wildly at the empty air. Green and black ropes of mana twine themselves around his arms.

    One hand claws at Gully's summoned elf, which falls dead, and two beasts step from the aether to guard him.

    Life: +0

    Battlefield:
    4x Forest T
    1x Swamp T
    2x Kalonian Tusker

    Graveyard:
    1x Wring Flesh

    Is Theros locked? You didn't mention it in your edit in on the rules and announcements.
    I believe we are following the same process as the rest with Theros (ie. first two sets are unlocked, last is locked), but don't quote me on it.

    Regardless, it may be difficult to get spells from Theros, especially given that we haven't crafted a subforum for it yet.

    As the group approaches the cave's opening, stalactites near the entrance become faintly visible. The smell of mildew emanates from the opening, and the faint sound of scratching can be heard.

    Apparently Gully and Kai are both getting a free turn, since I can't make decent rolls.

    It has come to my attention that the changes to the RPG are not listed in this rules document.

    - Starting satchel sizes have been reduced from 32 purchasing points (PP) to 20.
    - Starting satchels are also to select cards from only the following sets: M10, M11, M12, M13, M14. If you start on the appropriate plane, you can select cards from the following blocks: Zendikar, Scars of Mirrodin, Innistrad, and Return to Ravnica. The third set of each of these blocks is not available.
    - Elixir of Immortality is restricted to a 2-cast.
    - All Spirit Guide abilities are 1/turn, and can't be used until the third turn cycle.
    - Ancient Den, Great Furnace, Seat of the Synod, Tree of Tales, Vault of Whispers, Blazing Shoal, Chrome Mox, Dark Depths, Dread Return, Glimpse of Nature, Rite of Flame, and Seething Song are banned.

    Good to see you back, AoK.

    Also, Lorwyn/Shadowmoor should be unlocked.
    Most planes are unlocked, with the exception of the third set of each plane. For example, it's hard to have Eldrazi if they're not released.

    Unless the enemy can get through about 12 of my Fogs, 8 of his, and 6 boardwipes, not an issue.

    Cyouni's eyes open, and he raises his hand, already glowing with mana. Clenching it into a fist, he wrenches it to the side, ripping a spell from the illusionist's mind.

    Swamp, Extirpate the Cancel. I'm just hoping he doesn't have Extirpate himself. Either way, I still get his satchel information.

    I guess I'm playing the long game this fight, since my build plans were ruined. Sigh.


    Cyouni closes his eyes. "Fine then. No mercy."

    If someone wants to hold something like Holy Day/Cancel just in case he has two sets of counterspells, that'd be nice.

    Reminder that someone should be gaining life due to Soul Warden.

    A blue line of mana traces itself around Cyouni as he snaps, "If you continue with your misplaced pity, you're going to die for it. Focus on the fight. Child or not, it plans to see us dead."

    Playing Island, casting Ring of Evos Isle.

    The trail proves easy to follow, as the memories Gully saw in the beast's mind are supplemented by the remaining beasts' tracks. Based on their direction, the path they're taking leads almost directly away from Estark.

    After much walking, the group spots a cave. It appears to match the one Gully saw in the beast's mind.

    Cyouni's left hand snaps out, directing a spell at one of the illusions, which fades out of reality.

    Taking the blow from the illusionary warrior, Cyouni brings his blade down on the warrior in turn. "Luu, finish it!"

    Wring Flesh at the Illusionary Servant to trigger the sacrifice ability, blocking Phantom Warrior with 1/0 weapon.

    Whatever's stopping Gully from seeing into the beast's mind breaks, and she sees flashes of the path it took to arrive at the farm. As far as she can tell, it was summoned outside a small cave along with the other beasts and the spiders, making its way here almost immediately afterwards. The sense of how much time had passed is hard to grasp, but the sky was still dark when it was first summoned.

    That's all Gully's able to get before the beast vanishes, leaving wisps of green mana in its wake.
