Sick cube dude! I love making cubes and I've landed on using your artifact cube as a baseline for my next adventure. Very well done, and I like that you balance things for power instead of just putting in all the busted things you can find. I think this is key for variant cube formats.

Diamond Valley while it doesn't add any mana it is by far the best effect of the three.

Let's do something new. Artifact cube, jank cube... something themed.

Agreed: Revoke / Gifts / Molten Rain. All are good options in the Shaman-Whisper-Gifts pack. I think Gifts leads to bigger problems than Shaman, who may not see the light of day if equally hate-drafted. Although Shaman is good, you pretty much have to take gifts off the board in our situation. It's too good to let others pick it up. Sure, shaman can ruin our fun, but we can handle it + it's dead more than it's golden (lack of targets). GIfts is always a good call and will always lead to problems.

I like this reasoning and those are my picks as well.

Hell's Thunder I was on the fence but after reading some arguments for it I definitely agree.

Anyone know if Wizards bought the concept for "commander" seems very strange to me that they are actually selling cards built for a format they didn't invent (even if it was with their cards). Perhaps there's some fine print that says Wizards owns any play or deck variation concepts in addition to their merchandise.

I think if you were to do this format it would be best to make a pack of X custom generals. Make each of them colorless. And just ignore the "color" requirement rules of edh. that way the general can be something that further enables archetypes, and you don't get the problem of people having to play/not play colors that they want to.

For instance this would help to enable agro in all colors.

    Kandor, Warcrafter 4
    General Creature - Human Soldier
All creatures you control get +1/+0 and have haste.
    3/3

While this would be better for black and red control decks.

    Lanilith, Necromancer 5
    General Creature - Human Wizard
Whenever an effect you control would put a creature into a graveyard from play, instead exile it and put a 1/1 black skeleton creature token with "B: Regenerate Skeleeton" into play.
    1/4

And so on. Another good thing you could do is that at the end of the draft, whoever wins the draft gets to design a new general. That way you get an ever increasing amount of generals. ince this is something that can be added to a cube (like planechase or archenemy or vanguard) I might do this anways.

Sounds alot like that avatar format from MTGO.

Lodestone Golem for all the reasons wtwlf mentions.

Same, solid reasoning. Definitely an upgrade to jugger for us. If we don't pick lodestone here it cheapens our original decision to take Mr. Jugs in the first place as this is a pure upgrade.

I was thinking Isamaru, but holy cow, Sword of Body and Mind. We got Jitte to make dorks into champs. This is the same idea. We can then draft really crappy guys without tremendous backlash since 2 equipments will be in our deck. Of course, we should aim at optimal picks, but swords own cubes/edh/singleton play. There's also only so many ways to kill these equipments. Isamaru also has a strong chance to swing back to us.

The big risk here is that we don't get the opportunity to fill with any more dudes. I feel we've spent the last 2 packs going for things to set us up for an agro deck. Now let's capitalize on it. If we don't start taking those dorks over bomb spells we are going to be left with nothing but potential.

Hey guys let's keep this draft on topic please. No need to get elitist here and no need to get snarky. The line between group think and "proven results" is very, very grey and it's probably best left unanswered.

Good argument on taking Stonewood over Rancor. I personally have had better results with Rancor then I have stonewood so that was my reasoning for hating it instead. Recurring trample coming down on us with only chump blockers available seems like a bad thing to me. Much more so then having one of our removals countered or creatures dying to a combat trick.
