    Well, I know I saw someone say that the Tez art with the phyrexian buddies was Fat Pack Box art (not sure if thats true or just speculation) but the Karn art looks about the same ratio, maybe thats the other side of the box?

    Man, I dont think I realized how much I missed Phyrexians!

    Sooo... does that poison symbol generally mean they have Infect? Or just allied with the phyrexians? Because Im terrified if that is a Darksteel creature with Infect.

    Ok, so Im trying to decide between a tap-out or a permission style deck so I worked out a permission and then I worked out a tap-out. Heres the tap-out I worked up:



    When I "finished" the core of the deck I noticed something. I hadn't put any counters in there! Now I know that if I want to run tap-out control (which seems like it would be more my playstyle anyway) that I would run fewer counters than a permission, but I should still run some right?

    I think I would like 4-6 counters, which is a lot of cards to pull out and Im not sure where to trim it up. I almost want to say I need to cut the Mimic Vats and the Chalices, but the vat is really good and the chalice helps me lay my threats earlier and more consistantly.

    I dunno, like I said I don't really know what to take out, can anyone offer some suggestions?

    etc etc, sure they can play some of them, but there is not a ton of stuff that they can play in response and have it actually do something. Against Red you might want to be a little more careful, but forcing them to play the spell right then instead of waiting can be pretty good.

    Ok, so Ive been fiddling with this and sadly I have yet to test it (working nights and weekends doesnt give me much time to test and such), but it seems pretty solid. Goldfishing looks solid to me, but thats never a great way to test.




    So yeah, what do you guys think? The Sideboard is who know,s I honestly dont know what Im doin with that, heh. So any and all suggestions / critiques / comments are welcome!

    Kozilek is a terrible choice. You dont have any ramp so you would have to wait till turn 10 to play him, and thats assuming you dont miss a land drop.

    With Cosi youve got 6 wincons? Maybe? Id add some more and take Cosi out. I run 4 titans, two persecutors and 4 shades. I know you said you didnt want to shell out for the titans, so maybe something else. Nightmares? Seems kinda vanilla, but its certainly a budget option.

    With gatekeeper and vapors and liliana to tutor em, I think Ive got enough outs for the persecutor.

    Never played MBC before but I got my roommate to help me hammer out a list, any and all critiques and comments are welcome!

So if you play predator and he dies to removal you still got two spawns, if One dies to removal then you got nothing.

    I find it funny that you say hatcher and predator are too slow and yet you tell me to run Rapacious One, which costs more, has a good chance of dying before he makes anything, and doesnt help you win with ascension nearly as fast as hatcher and predator do.

    I put the mights in for a little bit of a combat trick since this deck doesnt really have any of that other than bolt. Though I could see taking it out for a couple zones.

    I would like to run BBE, but Im not sure about taking out the birds for em. This deck is slow to get out the door so Id like the accel in there. Ill try it out with the elves though.

    Ok, Ive done a little tinkering and heres what Ive got now. Havent tested this set up, but Ill probably play my roommate some later today.



    I added two Might of the Masses to give me a little bit of a tricksy side, it could let me slide around blockers, or turn a bad block into a profitable one, but like I said I havent tested it so Im not sure.

    Added three bolts, I think thats a pretty solid change there.

    Upped the ascensions to 4 and took Garruk down to two, Garruk is nice and I still want him in the deck, but the ascension is better. Maybe Ill have somethin in the side to replace the ascensions when I go up against vamps? I dunno.

    Still not sure what to do with a sideboard. Ive got a few cards there that I think will help but who knows.

    I dont care for rapacious one because he's slow, I run Siege-Gang Commander over him, he makes more tokens right when he comes in and he can shock away problems.

    As for your deck, you don't have enough token producers. Most of the decks I see run 4 invaders (which youve got there), 4 predator, and 4 hatchers. Those guys power out tokens like no ones business. Basically how we get so many tokens is T1 forest birds, T2 land invader / spasm, T3 land, birthing x2 for 6 or birthing and predator for 4 tokens and a 3/3, then turn 4 you drop a hatcher for three, or if you've got the tokens, just drop an ascension for the win.

    Heres my take. I really dont care for Raid Bombardment in here because it doesnt do enough for it. I like the Ascension better for that ability. You can trigger it at once for a much bigger effect and the same mana cost. I might consider it sideboard tech against vamps since they run hex mages, but I wouldnt main deck it.

    Also: I like Garruk for the overrun ability / fog that he serves as. The ramp is just a nice bonus.

    Im a little unsure of Awakening Zone in here. It seems fantastic, but its slow and I rarely find myself wanting to cast it when Ive got other cards in hand. It does cancel out the monuments drawback though which is kinda nice. Dont know what Id put in in place of it though.

    I dunno, I need to do some testing against people and not just drawing hands and playing them out by myself.

    Yeah, each level up creature starts at level "0" and when you pay the cost they go up one level.

    The idea is that you can use that mana thats just sitting around to do somethin. The problem is, in the standard environment we have now, its just too slow. I played the levelers in limited and they are amazing, they can turn a game around. But like I said, the format is too fast so you usually cant afford to spend the mana. Maybe once Alara rotates they will be more useable.

    I was working on a similar deck idea actually. Not sold on my deck list and Im aiming for a more competitive build (which may or may not be possible), but here it is so far!



    Simple concept, make a bunch of spawn tokens, usin em to ramp as you go, then kill you opponent with em through either Monument, Warden, Bombardment, Garruk, or just Hand of Emrakul.

    With this you can get the hand out on turn three, swinging for 7 annihilator 1 turn 4 is kinda hard to deal with.

    I need to cut 2 cards, and like I said, Im not sure if I like the card choices as they are.

    Ok, thats just not right at all.

    You drew the "pants" to the edges of the wings. Which is certainly not where her waistline goes.

    Through a combination of bad lighting and those dark wings, it looks like her waist is much bigger than it actually is. Shes actually perfectly fit and proportioned like pretty much any other angel.
