Has anyone had any luck training with 2 or more GPUs? I know CuTorch theoretically supports it, but my Linux/Python/Torch skills are not quite there.
*EDIT*
Also, does anyone have any suggested training parameters for really high power systems? I work for a company where I have access to some pretty powerful hardware I find that with the recommended settings I finish training with the standard training regimen in a pretty short amount of time. If computing power was not an issue, what training parameters would you use?
Any particular reason that no number of Ultimate Price has showed up in any of these lists or sideboards?
I understand that it doesn't kill everything, but *all* of our removal has bad matchups, which is why we're diversifying... why aren't we diversifying into Ultimate Price too?
I disagree. They are tokens. As such they have no mana cost. If im wrong so be it but show me the ruling please.
110.5b The spell or ability that creates a token may define the values of any number of
characteristics for the token. This becomes the token’s “text.” The characteristic values defined
this way are functionally equivalent to the characteristic values that are printed on a card; for
example, they define the token’s copiable values. A token doesn’t have any characteristics not
defined by the spell or ability that created it.
"706.1. Some objects become or turn another object into a “copy” of a spell, permanent, or card. Some
effects put a token onto the battlefield that’s a copy of another object. (Certain older cards were
printed with the phrase “search for a copy.” This section doesn’t cover those cards, which have
received new text in the Oracle card reference.)
706.2. When copying an object, the copy acquires the copiable values of the original object’s
characteristics and, for an object on the stack, choices made when casting or activating it (mode,
targets, the value of X, whether it was kicked, how it will affect multiple targets, and so on). The “copiable values” are the values derived from the text printed on the object (that text being name, mana cost, color indicator, card type, subtype, supertype, expansion symbol, rules text, power,
toughness, and/or loyalty), as modified by other copy effects, by “as . . . enters the battlefield” and
“as . . . is turned face up” abilities that set characteristics, and by abilities that caused the object to
be face down. Other effects (including type-changing and text-changing effects), status, and
counters are not copied."
Copies of cards created by the Momir Vig avatar, Mimic Vat, Progenitor Mimic, etc... all have these copiable values.
Is it me or is this pack really weak? A 3/2 for 3 that can break through stalemates is not bad but not really first pick material.
It was the first pack I "opened" and I actually felt like it was pretty weak too, but that actually makes it pretty interesting I think. These are often some of the hardest p1p1's in a new format, so I'm actually glad it turned out to be weak.
Then again, maybe a month from now we'll all look back and decide this pack is bananas. Who knows!
A little but surprised that one of these threads hasn't cropped up yet. Been waiting for one and I figured if no one else was gonna start it up I would.
I'm gonna echo what fnord usually says: Please ignore the financial value of the cards for the purpose of this discussion.
Definitely a cute combo... don't think I want to get too cute though. If I'm doing it right I hope I won't need infinite attack phases. Copying it once or twice should hopefully be pretty effective.
So I'm in the process of finishing up my 7th commander deck and I was just thinking about including Strionic Resonator into the build. I won't post the entire decklist, but I will give you a brief run-down of what I'm trying to accomplish.
The general is Aurelia, the Warleader and the general "theme" of the deck is multiple attack phases per turn. Here's the list of cards with triggered abilities that can potentially benefit from Strionic Resonator:
I've seen examples of interactions between Master of Cruelties and Ninjutsu or Kaalia or things that put other creatures into play with master... but what if he changes forms after his trigger is stacked?
If I attack with Master of Cruelties and cast Dragonshift on him (or overload it) after his trigger goes on the stack, does the dragon deal 5 damage?
In my first flight I went 5-2 with Rakdos. Both losses were to Golgari. One with a 5/5 Daggerdrome Imp and the other to mana screw. Some of my all-stars for that flight were, unsurprisingly, Stab Wound and Hellhole Flailer

OH MY LORD... I wish I could art. Someone please art this. ヽ༼ຈل͜ຈ༽ノ

Anyone referencing a 3/2 might be referring to Agent of Horizons

The general is Aurelia, the Warleader and the general "theme" of the deck is multiple attack phases per turn. Here's the list of cards with triggered abilities that can potentially benefit from Strionic Resonator:
1 Spinerock Knoll
1 Skullclamp
1 Stoneforge Mystic
1 Sword of Feast and Famine
1 Sword of Light and Shadow
1 Boros Reckoner
1 Markov Blademaster
1 Solemn Simulacrum
1 Marshal's Anthem
1 Galepowder Mage
1 Hero of Bladehold
1 Hero of Oxid Ridge
1 Kor Cartographer
1 Michiko Konda, Truth Seeker
1 Restoration Angel
1 Mind's Eye
1 Assemble the Legion
1 Karmic Guide
1 Argentum Armor
1 Angelic Skirmisher
1 Aurelia, the Warleader
1 Godo, Bandit Warlord
1 Sun Titan
Unless I've miscounted, that comes out to 24 cards.
The most likely cut for the Resonator would be Blind Obedience. A card which is mostly a nod to hasty nonsense and mana rock abuse.
Now, my question to you folks is, is 24 enough? Do the benefits I get from these triggers outweigh the cost of running a card like Strionic Resonator?
If I attack with Master of Cruelties and cast Dragonshift on him (or overload it) after his trigger goes on the stack, does the dragon deal 5 damage?
Eye of Ugin is a mythic land.
In my 2nd flight I picked Selesnya and ended up playing a ridiculously awesome 5 color deck with 3 Transguild Promenade, 2 Axebane Guardian & Mana Bloom. That let me play 2x Auger Spree, Mizzium Mortars & Supreme Verdict. Some of my common/uncommon all-stars in that event were Thoughtflare, Coursers' Accord and Axebane Guardian.
I finished 4-1 with that deck. My only loss was to an Izzet player that suited up a Splatter Thug with Pursuit of Flight. I had two separate answers in Sundering Growth and Trostani's Judgment but they both got countered with Cancel and Mizzium Skin, respectively.
I love your site. It's beautifully done and super useful as a reference.
