Goblins isn't anything, Sure it can come in and catch someone off guard, but it won't make tier 1 and since were defending decks with removal cards, Consume the Meek Greets your goblins kindly
Vendetta anyone??? Instant speed removal, with next to 0 black (excluding mirror) in Standard, This card is like a PtE without the drawbacks, And we have the life gain to back it up.
Since we need new ideas for U/W Im thinking, We need to run more Discard I.E. Mind Rots Sludge Ritualist etc, So why not drop a card that does NOTHING in the match up, Nighthawk/Gatekeeper. We lose the first game, SB out a choice number of hawks board in more Rots etc.
Dumping 3-4 Hawks,3-4 Gatekeeper,
Then we would be running 3-4 Sludges 2-3 Rots, 1-2 Ritualist, 3-4 Duress, and possibly some underworld dreams.
Honestly Gatekeeper and Hawk do nothing in the match up, Hawk gains life which is irrelevant keeper clears board of one creature also irrelevant. Were clinging on to two worthless creatures, that are useless in the match up.
Any one want to destroy this idea or give it a test? Im trying it on MTGO.
With the rise of missing rares and the vertical lines, I think its fair Wizards makes an announcement to address the recent issues, Sure it may not be their fault but their name is on it and we should get explanations for all these problems whether its a faulty printing press or w/e. It just seems professional to address issues like this especially when were paying full price for cards and getting bad quality cards, or none at all(rares).
Does anyone else feel the same? or has this happened in the past?
There is about four threads on this already Sorry I cannot point you to them, but just so you know that we've been on that track for about 4-5 months now.
I have those 20 sided Lotus dice that came with the old Fat packs They have a Lotus for the 20 and have numbers for the rest. I have one of each mana color and then a Reborn Gold with the Reborn symbol to finish the set off
I like the way Std is set up but one problem I do have with it is when someone starts posting variants that aren't the type of the deck listed Example: Mono Black Vampires, people post ideas about Red splash and such in it muddying up the forum, which is annoying. Now I understand that people want their ideas heard but the Pros don't splash red for a reason, because it is not optimal. Its like this in all standard threads someone posts a deck list thats way off and thus an argument starts. I also understand that sometime ideas grow out of people suggesting changes but when its just NOT working i.e. Red splash etc then stop.
I would prefer that from now on when posting in Standard you MUST post a decklist and you MUST Post a results from matches online or in paper and MUST have a paragraph at the very least explaining SB choices etc.
And if not you MUST post a paragraph at the least contributing to the discussion example: Someone posts a deck list and match info and explains what happened, I respond by perhaps critiquing maybe some of his options in a positive helpful way or suggest a possible card that may help.
I guess im just tired of insightful discussion being derailed by a bad decklist or someone speculating about something happening or coming out etc.
I realize this seems rather tight and agree that it is and maybe its is not a good idea to have it this way because there will be no way to grow upon the said decklist. Its just my two cents though on the issue, I was growing tired of stupid arguments over stupid stuff when we could be discussing play strats. I also am tired of seeing one sentence contributions, I admit I have done this but I would like to make it so you must contribute more then "Grim discovery sucks and I think Hexmage is the bomb, at least in my meta" Well no **** maybe give us an idea of what your meta is so we can SB if we encounter something simliar!
There WILL be Vamps in WWK, Someone had a card insert in french with the WWK logo and a vampire a while back, and not having vampies is like having elves in Lorwyn and not having them in the following sets, Know what I mean?
Sure there may not be good ones but there WILL be some.
Didn't Elspeth leave Alara at the end of the book? Not that I think we'll see her again in ROE.
Now theres a loose end I forgot about, and as for Jaya...Dude we have Chandra as a red walker use some logic here people.
I could see Elpseth being a walker/jailer or w/e she was indeed jailed as a child on a horrible world perhaps the Eldrazi were the rulers of this world and she got here revenge by jailing them etc but that does'nt make a whole lot of sense, seeing as how with Elspeths values she shouldn't be teaming up with a black Vamprie PW to do anything.
Ob could be one of the jailers too, I really hope they expand on his story as it is interesting he lost his spark. Perhaps he was on Zen trying to acquire the nut-so mana during the mending then Bam he's powerless and gets trapped inside a black mana source thus leading to him being stuck and powerless unable to help the jailers or perhaps memory wiped/forgotten, its really all up in the air on Ob though we have nothing on the guy zero nilch nada.
I see a lot of completely baseless speculation here it kinda erks me i.e. Jaya.
If your going to speculate it would be neat if you had actual proof or something that inclines towards your belief other then "Lol I like X planeswalker! I bet X comes back!" or "I think X because it makes sense but I have no information on it"
@Smokestack, Yes, the crypt description has nothing about a sleeping beast/eldrazi but the one quote that is fueling most of this speculation was found near the Crypt of Agadeem, which I suppose could be dismissed as coincedental but...Yea doubtful.
"The Three shall [convene/return?], and the Eye [illegible] shall produce its [utter/sheer?] fire, and the [illegible] shall Rize, and this Time no Soul shall [ascend/perish/escape?]"

That supports the name of one being Agadeem, but again they may not even have names so, yea.
Just tested dreams, It melts face against them they really have nothing to answer it if you play it right.

I would venture a guess that it is Definitely a chick not Sarkhan but everything else in the pic screams Sarkahn so who knows.
And the first Vampire pic screams Blood-chief plus the intro pack has it on the front. Yay mono black vampires is gonna melt faces.
Ironic that this is my 100th post???
Sure there may not be good ones but there WILL be some.
