It wasn't actually banned because of the power level. Ironclaw Orcs isn't in revised. They had to list the cards that weren't in the current core set because there wasn't really a good way to tell which ones were legal. It's the same case with Twiddle.
Want to play highly casual? Make weird rules and keep changing them so people dont have time to tune into the best options.
1) No cards worth more than $5ish dollars
2) No cards with a new border
3) Only use cards from a particular block or set
4) 15 of the cards in your deck must have morph
5) You may only use 2 of each card instead of 4
6) hand size is unrestricted
etc etc....
If you change up the rules in major ways constantly there is less chance of someone in your casual group "breaking" the format and even if they do... oh well there are new rules next week.
This sounds like a blast. I wish they had actual tournaments like this, although it's probably not feasible since it would be too difficult to acquire the cards needed, but I love the concept of having to build a deck based on a specific set of criteria in a relatively short period of time.
1) There are people from a lot of different countries on these boards. The "Right" in virtually every other country is left of the American political center.
2) People here are young for the most part. Young people are more liberal, especially on social issues. Even young Republicans are often liberal on social issues.
3) The American Right has shifted incredibly far to the right recently, so the left and the right have a larger gap between them then they did previously. Anyone in the center or even center-right could now be considered "left" on most issues.
I was doing a draft once. We shuffled up, cut, and then drew our cards. My opponent plays a land and pass the turn. I then realized that we accidentally switched decks when we cut somehow.
We were both playing the same colors, so we didn't even notice immediately.
I would finally be able to take you seriously if you ,for once, would post a decent argument. In the onehundred posts i have read of you none states an actual argument for your opinion. There is no place here for subjective opinions of people who have never tested the card and just start with the idea is broken.
Yes the card sounds and looks broken, yes once it resolves its game over. But dont we have enough cards which win the game after being cast?
What is wrong in your reasoning if you cant even see that 3bb is much easier to achieve than 4uu with x amount of storm?
And saying minds desire is harder to counter than ad nauseam is ko argument cause in all the years that i have Played magic i have never seen an ad nauseam being countered. Except maybe some exceptional situations.
Cause any good storm player would always wait till its safe to go off before doing any part of the combo.
In which situation and which deck would minds desire be si mindblowingly more broken than ad nauseam or tile spiral? Or easier to set up? Till now i have seen none.
Sorry for typing errors im On my i pod and its damn hard to correct things
The difference is that Ad Naus doesn't get countered because, like you said, "any good storm player would always wait till it's safe to go off." With Mind's Desire, it doesn't get countered because it's pretty much uncounterable. You don't have to wait. If ad nauseam was uncounterable, you can bet that it would be banned.
My answer to vegetarians is always simple and to the point: it's not natural for humans to eat only vegetables.
It's much more "natural" than eating meat daily, and way, way healthier. Even if plants could think or something silly like that, people would still be vegetarian/vegan for health reasons.
A lot of companies funnel profits into activities people disagree with. It still isn't a reason to attempt to ban a company from opening a store in a city
It seems like a great reason to do that. Some people care about the ethical practices of the companies that they do business with. Businesses are prevented from opening in various towns and such all the time. If a business owner is a bigot, he/she should probably keep it to themselves.
It's funny how peer review is suddenly important to deniers. Now we can finally agree that the denialist position, which does not have peer reviewed papers, is complete bunk! Yay!
I can't believe nobody pointed this out sooner.

I might need to brush up on my biology, but if you haven't seen her in 10 years, then wouldn't it be impossible for to be the father? Why not just take the test and get it over with knowing that it will turn up negative?
It's not exactly a secret that thinly-veiled racism has been part of the attacks on Obama from the get-go. Obviously his race is a disadvantage, but he overcame it in 2008 so there's no reason he can't now.
Let's be real here. It's a pretty big stretch to say that Ann Coulter or Michele Bachmann are "attractive".
There are less Left-wing ideologues and pundits than on the Right, so it makes sense that there would be less women. I can only name like three liberal talk show people.
Native American mascots are kind of bizarre when you think about it. I mean, imagine if there was a team called the Jews or something. I don't think I really need to go into further depth about the mascot or anything, I'm sure it's easy enough to picture why that would be offensive to people.
That said, I think a lot of people would agree that things like the Seminoles are not that big of a deal, but names like the Redskins I would say are pretty clearly over the line.
What I really don't understand is why some people are so desperate to offend people that they are passing state laws to keep the Fighting in front of Sioux at the expense of everyone who goes to school there and everyone who is a fan of the teams.
