This is honestly a terrible idea. In a set that's so heavy on gold cards, we DON'T want rare lands. We already have all the mana fixing we need from Lorwyn/Shadowmoor block anyway, so the mana fixing is mainly for limited. Given that, and given how important it is that EVERYONE gets mana fixing in limited, it's better that we have a cycle of decent common and a cycle of powerful uncommon lands. Add in the cycle of common artifacts and all the other miscellaneous common and uncommon lands and artifacts, and there's absolutely NO reason for a cycle of rare lands.
I'm just sayin that the block with the hardest to cast spells ever should have the best mana fixing ever, which, so far, is not the case (and probably will continue to be as mulitcolored fixers make no sense, unless they just tack landcyling on). Compared to the signets, karoos, and shocklands of Ravnica the fixing in Alara is pretty weak. Its also sad that Lorwyn/Shadowmoor has better fixing(even without reflecting pool) and its not even a gold block.
People are voting yes because they WANT there to be lands, not because they think there will or should be.
This is a good point. I have to say that I do want there to be lands (but feel there won't). Though, I have to disagree with saying people don't think there should be lands in Reborn. I feel that there should be a set of powerful rare lands in the goldest block ever, and I am quite disappointed that it appears there won't be:-/.
With the economy in the dumps does anyone else think that its possible that wizards is just bending the truth to generate hype (which they seem to have done quite well here) and sell more packs?
I also find it interesting that ~20% of people feel that lands will be in Reborn, I thought that this would be closer to 10%. Please share you reasons YES voters I am curious as to why you feel there will be lands.
This isn't actually true. All the colored artifact creatures are made of etherium, but no such strict rule applies to the non-creature artifacts from Esper: see Marble Chalice (self-explanatory), Dispeller's Capsule (none of the distinctive curved bars that distinguish etherium), and Protomatter Powder (it's a powder.)
As such, the idea that Alara might have these "borderposts" that are colored artifacts but not made of etherium doesn't seem that unreasonable.
Yeah, I guess you're right about the etherium on non-creatures. However, flavorly the examples you provided are colored because they were crafted by esper mages, who infused them with their mana. The boarderposts are obviously not crafted (they seem to be natural pheomena). While i'm not saying it would be impossible for a RG artifact to be in Reborn, I feel that it would be a major blow to flavor. But then again, if these aren't artifacts and they aren't lands what are they?

These seem way too risky to run, if you miss a land drop with this out you lose A LOT of tempo and are pretty much screwed. Also these feel more like uncommon lands than rare lands.
Nah, I'm just sayin that its disappointing that the goldest block of all time isn't gonna have any "powerful" lands like Invasion, Ravnica, and even Shadowmoor did...and i guess some people are so disappointed by this that they can't give up on lands being in Reborn (I believe I found the root of this issue, hmmm...)

This is a good point. A RG artifact would be very much against the color pie, not to mention the fact that, flavorwise, in Alara artifacts are colored because of etherium, and these Boarderposts clearly are not etherium based. Hmmm, maybe these aren't artifacts after all...
If you were a Wizards marketing member who knows little about Magic would you know what exactly "multicolored" and "gold" mean?
I could see an ignorant marketing person thinking "oh this card has a gold text boarder and it has all these different colored symbols on it, so it must be multicolored, just like Fusion Elemental"
While I feel this is highly improbable, I don't think its out of the realm of plausibility

As for the question... I am going to say now. WE DO NOT need more fixing! I have NEVER seen so much fixing in my life. Why do we need more? The only bit of fixing I can see would be for limited... but even than it looks like there will be new obelisks to cover that.

Will there be any form of land in Alara Reborn?
Here's the basis of the NO side:
1. The whole its "100% multicolored" advertisement Wizards sent out clearly states that there wont be lands, as land are not multicolored
2. Legions set a precedent by not having lands, why can't Reborn do the same?
3. Colored lands would be broken
Here's the basis of the YES side:
1. The advertisement is just for hype, and the marketing team doesn't understand the difference between gold and multicolored
2. Some consider lands such as Jungle Shrine to be gold because it has a gold text border
3. Wizards could find a way to make colored lands work
4. The set needs more fixing/lands
Edit: I thought of another YES argument: It would be strange for the "goldest" block of all time not to have a set of powerful,manafixing, rare lands

Ummm, this comes out after 11th (M10), so it would have to be a "preprint/reprint?" of a card in this fall's large set.
I dunno about this one, seems only marginally better than Mana Cylix to me. Also, why would you play this if you already had access to black and blue?
