Black also has an insane number of sac cards... Grave Pact being a favorite of mine. If you feel the need you can run Grave Pact on Legs. Another card (white, this time) that I think would be awesome would be Martyr's Bond... white also opens up World Queller

In my meta we usually leave rocks alone and tend to target utility lands. Except for Basalt Monolith... because Power Artifact is beast. But even then you can wait until they try to cast it on the rock..
I'm looking to design a control / voltron style deck withplentyoftucks for a bunch of general hate I'd like a decent box of counters, aggro-control, mass destruction, and then voltron cards. I want to stay away from combos for this deck (all my other decks have plenty of combos).
I chose Jenara, Asura of War as my general because I find her more solid than Rafiq- of course he'll get a spot in the line-up. I'm not really used to playing anything control-esque, so a good estimate for amount of counters I should be running would be nice
I'm having a hard time understanding why its much better. Sure, it costs less to play but Ranger gives the same amount of counters for combo-ing and still functions with anthem effects out. Were you referring to just the mana cost issue? (the difference is only 1, and the captain is actually more color intensive...)
I have 3. I tend to get very obsessed with a deck and spend lots of time, money, and effort getting the deck to where I want it to be. My wife hates when I spend too much on magic so in general I have to build a deck up pretty slowly. (will be so awesome when I'm out of college and have more disposable income :)) I think I have everything I need for Ghave now so its just a matter of picking what my next deck will be... as noted in my sig I'm thinking either mono red mirror breaker or u/w sygg... but I also have many more ideas bouncing around in my head <_<

If you use W/ you also have Divinity of Pride and Vish Kal, Blood Arbiter
For defenses white is great because against aggro you have: Norn's Annex, Ghostly Prison and Windborn Muse. Also, of course, wrath effects and etc. Also have some artifact hate like Aura of Silence. White also has Aurification and black has No Mercy. Don't forget Moat/Magus of the Moat!
I'd also consider Grand Arbiter Augustin IV cuz he's awesome. Blue also brings Teferi's Moat. Mindbreak Trap and Ethersworn Canonist help kill combos too
Then probably Rahda, Heir to Keld
