Never seen them used as 1-ofs without KoTR or Primeval Titan. I'm running your list with Fetches instead of those pretty much. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
How is that a control deck?
You're tapping out on turn 1 to Preordain I assume, since you've got a 4 card "combo" and at least 4 untapped lands. Then, you drop a tapped tar pit on turn two. Then you tap out for your ramp spell on turn 3. Then you have your first interactive turn on turn 4.
You have no board presence and no card advantage. If they went first, you aren't even up a land. If they're Boros, Vampires, or RDW, you probably already have single-digit health. If they're control, they probably resolved a Jace (big if RUG or GU, small if UW or UB).
If you want to ramp out lots of big things, Blue Black is not the place to do it. Play GU Wave, which already does it better.
...or you could just bounce him with Jace for free for the same effect...
Actually, it's a better effect since Summoning Trap and Polymorph don't work on cards in their hand. Shuffling him back into the library with the legend rule would be a worse result.
This card seems like a "win more" for the most part. It's also not good when you're behind.
If I'm playing in a blue mirror match of any kind and they happen to drop a permanent threat that I also have in my deck, I can roll the dice and hope that the relevant permanent is in my top 7... or I could play a removal spell instead and know for sure it will be gone.

This is just my silly version. It's a lot of fun If you like multiple lines of attack, this is where they're at.
The sideboard is pretty much a joke.
I still won that game, but not by comboing, sadly. Took like an hour.
Is there an in-color creature I can use as a sac outlet that will actually win if done infinitely? Or is there an in-color creature that can fetch non-equipment artifacts?
Also, playing RUG for over a month makes me want Oracle of Mul Daya in there.
PS: I got my Maze of Ith with store credit I won too :-P It was at a FNM though.
By the way, I used Primeval Titan with Saffi, Guide, Altar, and Lark the other day to play every land in my deck, including an active Emeria, Sky Ruin
Not that it mattered much since only one of them had a Gaea's Blessing in their library. He just scooped when I milled myself and he realized all the Lark/Emeria interactions.
I run 38 lands. Maybe that list is off a little. I'll check.
So far I like it better, but mostly because I can exploit it with Mimic Vat unlike Myojin. If I play against creatures that I need dead that don't tap (Vigilance or triggers) I might reconsider.
I fetch and recycle SO MANY lands in long games that I CAN trigger it. It's just a matter of time before every Plains in my deck is on the field.
Ha! I didn't read it right. Neither did my opponents. I'll cut it until I find an Exploration.
Oooooh. Added. I like Aura Shards, so that stays in too, but this is in instead of Aura of Silence I think.
I can't believe I forgot Stonecloaker. Yes, that will go in main deck! Thanks!
d0su, you da man.
The combos are fairly self-explanatory. I generally win on the back of synergy and only "combo out" once in awhile.
I like Nest Invader because it's two bodies. You think the extra land is better?
Ajani Goldmane was great, but not in every matchup. That might be a good idea. Thanks for the input!
I tried that and only got how to make the files, not the process of getting from the digital onto the cardboard.
If I'm mistaken, link please?
Steps I know:
1. Erase Card
2. Make PhotoShop card.
3. ???
4. Sleeve up the dry, perfectly printed card.
5. Profit.
