Thanks for the advice about blues everyone! Ill approach blue in a whole new light next time. I think what one of you were saying is that to darken blue sometimes I should be adding orange, especially If I want the color to remain at a high chroma. That is wise. Adversley to lighten blues its sometimes neseccary to just start with white and more slowly and steadily towards the right color as to not overshoot. Also wise. How do you match blues acuratly? It is very very hard for me. For example I was trying to get the blue sky in adarkar wastes and it either looked too dark or too light and never turned out right. I also could not acuratly get that blueish teal color on unmask right. Here is the Paints I am using:
Golden Acrylic Phylato Blue (green shade)
Golden Acrylic Titanium White
Golden Acrylic Zinc White
Liquitex Manganese Blue
Liquitex Brilliant Blue
Golden Acrylic Raw Umber
Golden Acrylic Carbon Black
Water (I try to make it more "misty" i guess cuz it always seems to look not right)
Hi all! I just "finished" these eternal witnesses this morning (woot 5 hours of work!... im slow) Anyhow I would really appriciate feedback and notes on what I can improve in the future or what I can still fix before I put them up for sale.
Black Vise- Seems very balanced. Now you can toss your hand easier and there are a wide variety of answers to artifacts now. I can see games playing out where all this thing ends up being is a bolt or maybe 4 damage. Dont get me wrong it would be very very good but not broken if that makes any sense.
Tarmogoyf- Im kind of up in the air personally. There are several issues with banning tarmogoyf. Mainly, the man is still selling packs of future sight and WOTC loves that. Also, how can you ban a card that must be repreinted eventually? I know he is supressing a ton of creature diversity but I think that if he were gone the creatures taking his place would not be able to compete in tempo with combo decks and we would lose aggro as an archtype.

BRAINSTORM- This card is the heart and soul of legacy, i know, but it has to go. The restricting of this card got me thinking about legacy banning ever since. Brainstorm makes blue way overplayed in the format and unlike its cousin force of will does nothing to balance the format. Banning Brainstorm would encourage players to think outside a greater realm. Honestly, when I sit down to start a legacy deck it always is going to start with 4x brainstorm and 4x force of will- most likley 4x daze/4x counterbalance...
COUNTERBALANCE- This card is obv. powerful and it abuses the part of the format players love most- speed. Players who play legacy want to play fast magic, and even players who like landstill and the like are still getting 4 for 1ed by a single balance. Obv. this is made powerful only by top but I think top is a healthy card since it is an artifact and therefore provides its benifits to several colors.
It may seem like im out to get blue but I actually play it all the time. Its my favorite color, in fact. What im tired of is playing against other blue decks repeatedly.
Ive been a long time admirer of this forum and now have finally decided to go into full production. I have the skill just need practice and technique tips. What alters carry the greatest profit margin? I was thinking fetches and vedalken shackles seems reletivly easy to extend too. Also any tips for using acrylics on cards? I know water it down a lot and scrape with a toothpick, but anything else?
Oh and big props to Yawg- greatest technical artist here with also great ideas. More props to Masamune, who is my hero for concept and execution of new art on cards. Together you would be unstoppable... dont tell the government...
