I actually like Sibiliant Spirit (I run him in a quirky blue/black discard deck as a finisher, since the drawback isn't as big of a deal when I am making them discard everything that gets into their hand)
However, when it comes to the cube, I agree with running all those other awesome blue fatties instead.
This. Our Commodore 64 was host to my first gaming memories (we still have it and it still works as of a year or two ago). River Raid and H.E.R.O. are the main ones I remember.
Didn't want to start a new thread for this so I thought I'd ask here.
I've recently resumed my Diamond game that I started when it was released but let lapse after a couple weeks. I've got a guide that helped me find where I was in the story and I am about to storm the Galactic HQ so I know I'm getting near the end of the story mode.
My question is what outside of the story things so I try to take advantage of once I finish the game that I probably haven't? The strategy guide I have doesn't really have any info in that direction. I know I'll use Pal Park to get some of my Emerald guys but I totally forget what the Underground is about and whether I should be spending any time there. I plan to get HG/SS at some point soon but I'd like to maximize my playtime on Diamond first.
Epic Armageddon (Great game - probably the best rules GW ever made! I have Eldar and Space Marines as miniatures and Imperial Guard and Necrons as paper proxies. If only GW would care for it.)
This. Epic is my all time favorite. I have fairly substantial Space Marine and Ork armies. I wish GW still gave Specialist Games the time of day.
Dominion is a great game and feels like the closest thing to Magic some of my friends will ever play. I keep holding out hope that I'll get some converts for cube drafting.
They have sleeves available by the case. I got 800 KMC Matte Blue sleeves for $45 and 1000 KMC Perfect Fits for $30. The whole thing was < $100 for 1800 sleeves.
I did the same thing. Potomac is great. Note that they do have a minimum order amount which might be in the ~100 to 150 neighboorhood but there are a lot of cool things you can pick up to get over the limit.
Edit: I'm also thinking of a cube for another game. If I could think of a way to make it work for Netrunner I would do it in a heartbeat.
I run KMC Perfect Fits inside KMC Matte Dark Blue. They've been great. Just need to keep them tightly packed so there isn't so much air inside the sleeves.
Maybe it's just me but I like the Planeshift battlemages better but it's not an apples to apples comparison. I know if I had seen Stormscape Battlemage in any of our drafts and I had been blue/black I would have picked it up.
Sorry. I should have been more specific I guess. I figure if I want to pay with four, then Winston drafting the normal cube will suffice. It's more intended for two player, quick drafting and playing. I'd be inclined to upshift the number a little bit but I figure the shifting of sets in and out of standard should be enough variability for the contents (i.e. this thing is probably not going to see play every night).
Also, since I'm going common/uncommon the WWK manlands and ZEN fetches are out though I can see going slightly large for refuges or something similar.
This is partially a quick thing to play with one friend or a smaller set of cards to play with my wife so the additional advantage of me knowing far more cards in the normal cube does not apply as much. Hopefully limited skills are sharpened by less bombiness and also she is able to become more familiar with some of the important common and uncommons in type 2.
Edit: I'm also unsure how sharp card quality drops off since I'll be working with a smaller subset of cards so I don't want to get too big. It poses some interesting problems as I'll lose a whole blocks worth of cards when the first set of the next block comes out.
edit: is Shelldock Isle good enough to run as a blue card? I've been thinking about adding it to blue and Treetop Village to green.
There seems to be some concensus here on Shelldock Isle being a good include. I've recently added it but it hasn't been played yet so I don't have any personal experience to add.

Mine have been great. I don't know what the specific compliant is.

This is the breakdown:
18 per color
5 colorless
5 lands
Does this seem reasonable?
