    Meloku > Cloudskate > Cavalier > Greatshark

Repeal if you support storm, Dismissal if you support tempo & polymorph, otherwise Into the Roil, which is the overall safest inclusion.

Both Uro and Krasis, and cut something else.

Ya, I'm sure there's no room at that size.

    You're very welcome!

And I also want a new Braids/Smokestack variant really badly, but I'm not holding my breath either. Frown

It might not hurt to try. Obviously the more uses it has the better the justification for playing it gets. I play it because it helps the Polymorph deck ...but as long as it's in there, we've been using it in multiple different sacrifice shells and stuff. It's a cool card. BUT, I don't know if I'd still be playing it if it weren't for the value it brings to Polymorph. It's one of those cards (like a lot of the storm cards, for example) that only make the cut because of how important they are to a specific deck, but once they're in there, players explore other uses for them.

And you're right about some of those cards in smaller cubes, it's hard to make room the smaller the cube gets. But it's been fun, powerful and exciting in my cube, and I wanted to spread the word. :p

I was just messing with you dude. Run whatever you want. But those cards are all fine, and they help make the deck tick. So if you ARE interested in the Polymorph package, it can be done with cards that work very well in other archetypes too. All of those cards, and the others in the OP, have been seeing play in a variety of different decks. So hate on them if you want to, but they're all defensible cards.

Outside of the polymorph effects themselves, the other support cards can all see play in other decks/archetypes. Thumbs Up The list is comprised of cards that I have either cubed before (even without Polymorph effects) or are currently run by other cubes. And that's without the Polymorph support to enrich their value. Outside of Kher Keep (which is a sweet-ass card, by the way) all the cards on that list are totally defensible inclusions. Cool

I think he means that there's nothing intrinsic to the Pyromancer that makes it shine in this particular shell. It's good in this deck because it's a good card ...not because it shines in Spells Matters for any specific reason. Seasoned Pyromancer is just a good Magic card.

To make it work with the Persist combo, keep the "opponent gains control of it" effect on the stack while you let the persist triggers and ETB triggers enter and leave the stack above it; resacrificing the creature in response, and never letting the Idol leave your control.

In a small cube, probably. It takes up a lot of space, so it's not something I can see shoehorning into a smaller list without having to give something else up. You need 2-3 red slots for the Transmogrify effects alone, plus the slots taken up by the additional noncreature token makers. Not to mention the blue slots...

But if you CAN find the room, the deck can work. So in that regard, I think exploring the archetype was a success.

Jinxed Idol can be used as part of the sacrifice combos as long as the loop/kill can be demonstrated on the spot, so it's another combo engine. But Idol also seems competitive in aristocrats as a way to keep the opponent under Vortex-like pressure as you can constantly feed it with tokens and recursive monsters ...all the while triggering your Blood Artist effects. It was recommended by RyanSaxe over on Twitter and I decided to give it a spin.

@g_kourk: It's all in the OP!

@JuiceBOX: T4 Progenitus/Blightsteel/Emrakul has been pretty powerful. The archetype hasn't been "marginal" or "weird" ...it's been very strong. Just an FYI.

This deck is awesome, by the way, and I consider the exploration of this archetype to be a success. I recommend it if you can find the real estate for it.
