Bant has a critical mass of sick creatures right now and looks a hell of a deck in T2 Block Constructed.

    There, fixed. Wink

I have no problem taking the Badlands. I value mana-fixing lands really high. I didn't want to pass the Aether Vial because we have some sort of pseudo-black/control thing brewing, and I don't want to give an aggro archetype one of the greatest tools to beat our (potential) control deck with.

There's a laundry list of blue creatures I'd play in front of the guy, don't get me wrong. I was saying in a Limited Format (also given the limitations of one's cube), it might be worth it. If you're jamming a 600+ card cube (like I am), and you're jamming all possible sets, then yeah, it's probably not worth it. If you're playing something like Onslaught to current, then it might be worth it.

(I said that because I know you run Alpha to Onslaught Wtwlf)

Ya, and there's people that play extended only cubes too. Even so, that effect (while unique) is sub-par. Like you said... there a ton of other blue creatures that go in ahead of him. That's what I'm saying too. Given tha fact that he's blue too; I think I'd rather just add another non-creature spell before actually including Fatespinner in my cube.

It makes you use a bad card in your deck?

Seriously though, even if your opponent doesn't have an answer to him right away, the effect still isn't worth the cost. Not with the quality of other cards at that CC slot.

I think the Fatespinner is poor. It'll have an effect on both players, and it's a 1/2... for 1UU. I don't feel that even the best situation that can come from running him is worth the cost (and the fact that it's taking up a blue creature slot... which should only be taken up by the best creatures in the game; the Fatespinner simply isn't close to good enough).

Yes, I think the Academy Ruins is the right choice for the 2nd U non-basic slot. I guess if you're not running power, the Tolarian Academy isn't broken, but I still think it has potential to be more powerful in the long-run than Faerie Conclave.

I like all the changes man, the cube list is lookin' strong.

Can I suggest Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth instead of the other Tomb? It's outstanding in B/X... anything really. Mana-fixing solved.

Also, Tolarian Academy is pretty good... I think I'd cut the Conclave for it.

Wow, thanks Jeremy thanks. Way to make me look like an idiot.

CA does not always win games.

Sorry to say, but you did that yourself. It started when you said that Library of Alexandria isn't game-breaking, it continued when you said if Library sucks when it's not in our opening hand, and you really drove the point home with this little gem in the quote above. Card Advantage is the biggest contributing factor to win/loss percentage over the history of Magic. Period.

Yes, Undermine is only so-so, but Absorb is fantastic.

I wouldn't cut the Keldon Megaliths for the Shivan Gorge myself. Hellbent is not that hard to reach for Red, and the fact that it taps for red, only costs 2 to activate and hits creatures too makes it 10x better than the Gorge, IMO.

Also, with the list of changes, the XXX -> YYY means you added X by removing Y... right? Like, you're taking OUT a Cancel and adding IN a Remand, correct?

Only if you play it turn one or two. If you don't get it in your opening hand it sucks.

This is 100% wrong. I've won plenty of games where it wasn't in my opening hand. As soon as you fill up to seven, you go on to win. Any draw spell, any CA (as mentioned by Apex) or any draw-7 card will pretty much auto win for you when the Library's on the table. Pop an Armageddon, Wait, Win. Or use something like Upheaval. It is the best card in the cube. The only one that can sorta compete is the Sol Ring. The only thing that can maybe outclass that kind of CA is two turns of tempo for 1.

Anyone who thinks Library of Alexandria is not a game-breaking card is either using it wrong, or is speaking from complete inexperience.

You have never cubed before it is obvious.

Library is not a game breaking card in cube...

    Laugh

Seems obvious to me that you've never cubed before.

Library IS the game breaking card. Period.

I'd take the Aether Vial. There's no real reason to take the Badlands when we've been passing so much red this draft. The other red cards aren't likely to table, so the Vial is the better choice here, IMO.
