I think he has decided to perfectly balance the CMCs for each color (same # of 1CC as 2CC as 3CC, so on and so forth)... making aggro almost impossible to compete.

It's nice to dream about attacking with 2-4 creatures supported by an anthem but that rarely happens in a cube.

Actually, it happens all the time. Perhaps you're not running enough creatures/anthems?

Using the Squire over one of the Lions is just another thing that's going to prevent an efficient white weenie onslaught.

    Pact of Negation

I'd make sure to add in all of these /\ /\ /\

    Negate/Essence Scatter

Before adding in either of these... /\ /\ /\

Also, DerBK is right on about Force Spike. It's a fantastic counterspell.

However, many people cut Pyroclasm for Volcanic Fallout. Though Pyroclasm is cheaper and more splashable, Volcanic Fallout is significantly more powerful because it's an uncounterable instant. Similarly, you'd probably run Krosan Grip before you'd run Naturalize, right? Or Treachery before Control Magic?

If the new wrath cost 5 but had split second or untapped 5 lands after playing it, then we could talk. Otherwise, the 4 casting cost is better.

If you could only run one of each pair, which one would it be and why? I can't really make up my mind, some input might help me here.

Rafiq of the Many vs. Empyrial Archangel
Rafiq is just really strong and can influence the game as soon as the attack phase of the turn he comes into play. On the other hand I do not like his mana cost, he is in a color combination that prefers attacking in masses rather than alone and he can just be bolted. The Archangel is a great reanimation target, but a bit expensive to actually hardcast.

Sphinx of the Steel Wind vs. Ethersworn Adjudicator
A Tinker target on one side, a repeatable Mortify on an Air Elemental on the other side.

    Flameblast Dragon vs. Bogardan Hellkite
Repeatable Blaze vs. immediate impact with flashy trickiness but at a really high price.

    Rafiq, Sphinx and Bogardan Hellkite.

Nice Corpse Dance and Simulacrum. Great original art.

It's a high pick once you've gone in a direction with the draft where you know you'll use it. Perhaps pick #4 or 5 if you have some other good R/x aggro stuff brewing.

Maybe I'll put test it out after my players have gotten used to the latest round of changes.

For now though, they are all afraid (as am I) of seeing it in action.

I'm sad to hear that epochrasite is bad. I thought it would be really cool for control.

Skullclamp is fantastic, but it's no more of an offender than Balance or Armageddon or Jitte or Sol Ring or Library or ...etc.

Epochrasite is okay, but when it's in, and things like Icy Manipulator are missing, control is actually worse off than it would be otherwise. With a cube the size of your cube (and even more importantly is an artifact section as small as yours is) there's just no room for the poor guy. In fact, I think Bottle Gnomes is a much better artifact creature for control, and it's missing as well.

Hallowed Burial in this case, but if the Burial isn't there, you can remove another white control card for the new Wrath. 4CC Wraths belong in the cube.

I guess signaling isn't a problem with our group. We typically play with several people that are new to Cube format so it isn't an issue. Plus everyone is pretty cool. There's almost no de-drafting going on. We'd rather see everyone's decks more powerful than hurt each other. It makes the games better.

It's not about using signaling to hate-draft against other players. It's about being able to abuse the signals to know automatically which colors are up for grabs. A completely random packs helps to eliminate any possibility of signaling from occurring.

Having a balanced pool is okay (but not necessary), but having completely balanced packs isn't.

Jitte at least requires you to attack first, skullclamp could just draw you 6 cards really fast.

That's okay though... powerful cards belong in the cube.

If I'm playing R/X or X/r aggro, I'll take it. It's not P1P1 or anything though.

Nobody said to play this instead of Rout. At least, I don't think it should be played over Rout.

Boom is great. I use Boom // Bust about 50/50 for each side. Destroying a bounce-land with Boom negates the card/tempo loss, and the ability to trade a Mountain for a Volrath's Stronghold is clutch. Bust is a 5R Armageddon, which is still great.

I think you can go without Grim Poppet and Chrome Mox, but Mox Diamond and Triskelion are a must. As is Skullclamp. I agree that the Epochrasite is pretty sub par.

I agree with cutting Gorge for the Ring, but I really like Kor Haven too. I could go either way on the white-based land (actually, I'd use Kjeldoran Outpost over both of the other ones).

You're also missing Icy Manipulator... which should go in ASAP.
