Ellen Pagels writes a lot of great texts about traditional stories or historical personalities examined from a Gnostic perspective. Her most famous is Adam, Eva and the Serpent, but I really enjoy her book about the Gospel of Thomas. She is knowledgeable and an excellent writer. The books are a smooth read and full of information.

Yeah, David O. Russel really indulges his actors/characters and doesn't seem to steer away from slowness. My wife LOVES slow films and even this was brisk compared to The Station Agent or Tully which are two of her favorites and too slow for me.

Have you read Labyrinths by Borges? He is kind of an conceptual sci-fi writer, but Danielewski is heavily influenced by him for his stories often have meta elements and layers of things within more layers. He kind of pioneered the genre of conceptual fiction without even realzing it. The book The Tunnel is similar, but the author escapes me at the moment.

Doing a search on conceptual fiction may point you in the right direction, but that term can mean a lot of things.

I like all of it! I just can't figure out how to keep abreast on it anymore. In the 90's, I was bombarded left and right by experimental and No-wave albums. Now I find it difficult to be on the cutitng edge of it. I love Terry Riley, I mostly consider Gastr Del Sol's Upgrade and Afterlife when referencing them as experimental, especially Our Exquisite Replica of Eternity. Camofleur doesn't really fit.

I really miss No Wave and the SkinGraft label.

I love watching the students with Autism make progress and be able to do things independently. When I get these students, they have already been labeled as low functioning, severely disabled and people consider them the most difficult population of students to teach. But, it's simply because no one has given them a chance in an environment that is designed for them to succeed. They are amazing individuals but it takes effort to get to know it.

And I also can relate to political nonsense. Administration is the greatest barrier to educating students.
