  • posted a message on G/W, but where to go from there?
    Hello,

I've been working on this deck since day 1 of Avacyn Restored, However I just don't know where I really want to go with it. I have some ideas, listed after the decklist. Thank you for any input.

    So, my own thoughts:
    1. I want wolfir silverheart in this. badly. But where?
    2. Birthing pod instead of zenith?
-Does sacrificing a Strangleroot Geist cause undying to go off?
    3. Hero of Bladehold? (would probably replace angel of jubilation, especially if I'm running Dismembers)
    4. Run a full playset of Restoration angels?
    5. Someone mentioned splashing a bit of black (Birds, 1 swamp or even isolated chapel) to run Unburial Rights instead of using Defy Death. Thoughts on this?
    6. Cavern of Souls? Only if I were running more humans or angels?
    7. No swords simply because I do not have access to any atm.
    8. I don't like the spells i'm using to ramp. Alternatives?

Anyway, any input is greatly appreciated

  • posted a message on Is Thalia the NEW Avacyn? M12 and Innistrad
This question is mostly based on what is probably a crazy coincidence I just noticed.. But here's my idea: (Note, I have not read anything outside of the Innistrad booklet from fat packs for lore on this set)

    1. Innistrad's guardian, Avacyn, has gone missing, like just flat out disappeared
    2. Sorin Markov, her creator, returns looking for her and can't even find his own creation.
    3. Thalia (without knowing much about her), seems to be this up and coming if not already established champion of the Innistrad Humans.
    4. Look at Thalia's art Here
    5. Look at Angelic Destiny's art here
    6. Now look back at me.

Despite the figure on Destiny looking slightly different than Thalia, there are some similarities. A general similarity in clothing design, pose, and general setting in the cards. While Destiny shows a town and Thalia seems to be in a field, look again. They both seem to be standing in relatively the same landscape. Finally... They have the exact same artists. NOt just one of the artists from Destiny did Thalia's art, they both did.

I know it all seems pretty weak. But I think we're going to see some very interesting developments in Thalia regardless.

    Welcome,

I definitely found Green the easiest color to use to get into the game when I started, especially when one of the base ideas (to me at least) was figuring out a smooth flow of mana while still being an effective player before going crazy with everything else. Wishing you luck on the treefolk.

  • posted a message on Moving, dealing with a new post office
With the start of the new school year I permanently moved to where I go to school, which meant bringing my MTG Collection with me to start trade/selling again after a year long break. The problem I have had is this:

Every time I go to the Post Office to send off a trade or a sale, usually only a couple cards in a bubble mailer, nothing excessive, I get told I either have too small of a package to use DC ("packages have to be at least 3/4" Thick") or have to pay for speedier shipping to enable DC. I very much feel ripped off because my first trade since I moved, the shipping wound up being almost as much than the cards I was trading for (roughly 10, rounded), as opposed to maybe 2-3 at most in my former town. This was never a problem in my last town of residence, in fact they never even said anything about the package other than the normal, "anything fragile, etc...," so I don't know what's wrong.

I've figured that either this post office is excessively strict about their rules, or they're making **** up since I've never been confronted about this issue and didn't manage to see anything on the usps website about how THICK a package has to be to ship it with DC.

The only thing I've thought of to deal with this is to explain what I'm shipping next time, since to them I'm sure it feels like I might as well be mailing an empty package when I hand it to them. But I'm not sure how effective that will be.

Because of all this I would appreciate any input on past experiences with "strict" post offices, and how to deal with them. Thanks

    -Stevey

When ~ enters play, exile six black creatures from your graveyard. If you don't, exile Tainted Angel.

    How do you break ties?

Depends on the material they're made out of!

Cards in the attachment. Obviously inspired by Isochron Scepter.

    Explaining:
Phase: Works like Imprinting essentially, but instead of exiling a card you're obviously pulling it from exile to integrate it onto the artifact you're playing

Now, pulling something from the aether must not be stable right? Well that's why there's...

Disintegrate counters: The more you use something unstable, the worse it gets right? For a simple mana payment, you can be sure that the item in question with something phased onto it will maintain it's integrity after being used time and time again. And if you don't make the easy payments, you can say goodbye to your phased artifact very soon.

Idk but you posted, QUICK! MAKE A CHALLENGE! hahaha.

sorry. been swamped. motley fool would have won, but since he doubted my intentions, i'm giving the win to grayseeroly. i'd rank them one-two. i plan on getting detailed judging by the end of sunday - sorry to have delayed you all.
just so it's clear, grayseeroly wins. his turn to be judge.

To me, he's saying "Motley won but He's a **** so I want Grays to judge instead"

IMO, Motley should be the next judge as Summon himself said that Motley's card was the best. But w/e,

What a nightmare... We have a judge picking the runner up as winner not because it was the best option (and as pointed out 2x already, doesnt meet criteria), but because the rightful winner hurt the judge's feelings?

That was a joke, I wouldn't dare just stick up a new challenge w/out being a rightfully judged winner. I also know that Summon could have just gotten busy, but since we don't know 100% whats up we're trying to figure out an alternative in case. Don't see what's wrong with that.

Someone feel like preparing a judging so that if theres no show the person can just post it sooner instead of then having to further wait another 2-4 hours?
