Up until a month ago I went to a school that is 3 minutes walking from the bomb site. I went to Utøya two years ago, and seriously considered going this year. Can't fathom this. I feel like vomiting, and am sweating all over my body. A classmate of mine was there and had to hide under dead bodies and pretend to be dead to not get shot by this horrible, horrible man.
And the person held in custody has repeatadly criticized islam, so no connections there.
Don't really know why Genesis Wave sneaked in there.
-1 Genesis Wave
+1 Chaos Warp
Still not sold on Fresh Meat though, but I might be wrong. Primeval Titan is a card that gives you so much advantage on it's own that it is staying, and also setting up for big turns later down. Just fetching Strip Mine and Wasteland can be brutal. Tutorable, and I find myself in spots where I tutor for this over Regal Force (most of those i have deserted temple already). Even without any synergy with other components of the deck it would still be decent.
On Chaos Warp. This card is not something you want to play t2/3 to kill a land, as the odds of flipping a new land or something better is just too big. Great answer to problem cards like Teeg and generals in general though.
As for New Phyrexia, Beast Within is the only worthy card for inclusion, but a great one at that. It's an answer to Teeg and also contributes to our LD package. I feel that a card you can cut for it is Saproling Symbiosis, albeit a good token producer somewhat a win-more card.
Stranglehold is probably a too narrow hate card, but the ooze on the other hand seems very promising as a hate bear like Vexing Shusher. As a creature it is so easy to tutor up that you have access to it almost every game. Testing is needed to find if it is sufficient against decks like Iname and other reanimators. Possible cuts is one of the pure land destruction spells.
Other suggestions:
As addressed by others, Decimate is online to few times. Although a powerful card, too narrow.
Urabrask and Vorinclex doesn't do much for any of our plans.
Fresh Meat, so I have to have mana up, this in hand and they have to wrath. It will still not be backbreaking, and I'd rather have a powerful spell as comeback.
Noxious Revival is subpar in comparison to other cards we don't run. Nonconspirable
Although the theme of the deck is dumping fatties into play, try getting sources of card advantage out of these. What about these? Dragon Mage Knollspine Dragon
etc.
Shortly put, try getting spell effects tacked onto them fliers.
What about Urabrask the Hidden. I know I will, already having a mono-red deck with a much more suboptimal general (Norin). Anyways, haste kinda gives 'em an extra attack. The real gems are cards like rage reflection, furnace of rath and gratious violence (especially the last one, insane) so that drawing two means 4 times the damage instead of 3 times.
I think Phage the Untouchable gets the win in this case. cast her and you lose the game? lololololol
Platinum Angel wants a word with you Also, you can play that thing that makes you go to 7 life and shuffle in your board and everything. Then, proceed to tutor him up and play him the usual way. Heck, if there is a donate effect in black you can give them Abyssal Persecutor too (or hope they take it themselves, hmmm, mindslaver you say:o?)
I made a silly kithkin tribal deck with Gaddock Teeg as general, playing only small kithkins, glorious anthem and the like and overrun effects. It put up some ok results, but that was mainly because of Teeg. Fun excercise though and got myself some style points in the group.
Illuminated folio a no-brainer? Compare that poor fellow to Mind's eye. May I suggest the obvious about your equipments and start with swords+jitte? Stoneforge Mystic should enjoy himself with all those, and Stonehewer Giant as well. Kor Skyfisher is surprisingly good at reuse of EtB abilities.
Academy Rector might not seem like much, but if (or, lets assume when) an opponent wraths he can fetch up the white ascension that makes angels (forgot name right now ). That one is probably good anyways, as your opponents will have a hard time trying to bash you. Idk, if your curve runs that high Sun Titan would be exellent as a top end card fetching back your small dudes, the same goes for Reveillark and Karmic Guide. If possible, run creatures that do the same things as spells so that you always apply more pressure.
If you are either trying this as a challenge in multiplayer (not recommended) or playing 1v1, I'd suggest a small dip into green and run Gaddock Teeg as your general. I managed to make an ok kithkin tribal deck for 1v1 using him, kithkins, tokens and about every single way white can pump creatures together. Lots of fun, especially against other creature based decks.
Fair enough. I would agree that Arcum and Azami are definitely not as strong as they used to be given the evolution of the format. Zur however I think is something of a different story, and would love to see some of these new decks play against a skilled Zur pilot.
Nevertheless, congratulations to all you innovators for making it so far in the tournament. MTGS EDH tourneys are probably the most intensive EDH tournaments to have ever been contrived.
I'd love to play against an experienced Zur pilot. If you were talking about yourself please feel free to contact me via pm so we can arrange a match or two
There might be many reasons for this, but these tournaments changed completely after Clique got banned. I remember playing in the first tourney where over half of the field was mono-blue, from Clique to Azami, Arcanis and Teferi. Nowadays I seriously consider cutting Vexing Shusher from my Wort list just because he rarely does anything.
I'm not aware of any other creatures that spell out "GG" like those when used with a modicum of intelligence the moment they smack the board. There are good ones - Kozilek & Ulamog get HM's, but honestly aren't worth it unless you want the shuffle effect.
Emrakul is banned (thank god). Nothing beats Godsire when it comes to traditional fat, and Blazing Archon is good as well. The art on the Apocalypse Hydra got to be the most badass art of them all!
I love the build-around me generals with unique abilities that makes my inner Johnny overly happy. Before getting into EDH my favourite deck was a merfolk deck that went infinite/arbitrary large through my sole Intruder Alarm. Imagine getting access to that pet card of yours every single game! So when I started out my search for generals I ended up building Wort, the Raidmother. I've played it tokens, fatties, goodstuff and a mix of those, I've played it cutthroat and casual, multiplayer, 1v1 and Archenemy without schemes (coincidentially those 1v3 games happened at the same time as the cutthroat period, hmmm.) My other deck Isperia is also one of my pets, I really like to justify playing Telepathy, and get my mulldrifters every single game.
I'd go with Wort, the Raidmother. The deck is incredibly strong and plays a lot of LD which is often even more oppressive than combos. Best part is a lot of people still think the general is "fair" because you aren't running blue so in most groups Wort won't draw an adequate amount of hate.
Was gonna suggest this, big surprise. You don't get hated out? After some time people went LD on me through Terastodons and Acidic Slimes to ensure that I didn't get to the 6 mana to play Wort. It was the most insane hate thrown at any deck in our play group of all time, and deserved as well. Wort LD/combo is good in 1v1, but in multiplayer the straight up token combo deck is sick. Check out my spoiler for an idea of where to begin

If you read the OP's response it clearly seems like he thinks of maralen as the general, since he is stating he will play it t3 every single game.
