The more I think about it, the more I like the new system. For the FNM player only, it helps level things a little to balance out the different venues. There's 3 stores in my area and 1 is drastically more competitive than the other 2. A perfect example of the problem with the current system is that there's a player in my area who will only play at one of the less competitive stores (and they're generally only 4 round tourneys). Because he always wins there, he has an 1850 rating. However, he can't even compete well enough to catch prize that the 5 round. I play almost exclusively at the more competitive store and go 4-1 or 3-2, prize most of the time, and even win on a semi-regular basis. Because of the plus and minus of the current system though, my score fluctuates drastically over short periods and I, more often that not lose points for going 3-2. So, I'm down about 50pts over the last year and sit at a 1720 DCI even though I'm a much stronger player than him and have a lot more wins and games under my belt. The new system would actually reward me for playing at the store with the larger venue though since I wouldn't break even on rating for going 4-1, but instead gain points for the 4 wins, where he would only get 2 wins and a split.
This system prevents people that don't have time to play in 4+ events a week from grinding on. There was so little wrong with the old system. If you had a relevant rating you could play mtgo, draft with bros( for money) or get a 2nd DCI#.
uh Kix you still have to have a legal target for arrest brosif. if you have a sun titan vs a hexproof creature( which wouldnt happen anyway-even thrun sucks) your titans going to jail.
ok, proliferate seems INCREDIBLY broken. if there is a cheep enough spell that adds 3+ counters when it ettb, then we could have a 2 card combo with planeswalkers with cheep enogh ultimates... thank god ajani V. is rotating...
i play almost his exact list on modo and i crush de's erryday. i play 4 baneslayers and 4 firewalker which turns mono red post board into like 75%even if g1 is pretty bad.
Day of judgement is played in 0 real decks. It is to slow when compared to eq and the format. Therefore it should not be on Amy list instead if half whichbitbis on now
